Chapter 157 - Li Ling Is A Bit Scared

If there was someone with enough guts to interrupt Li Ling and Zhihao, it would certainly not be a human.

With unhidden hostility, Zhihao looked at the thing that had hissed at them. When Li Ling saw the icy glare Zhihao gave, he couldn't help but feel a shiver run down his spine. Even he was affected by it, but it seemed that the Ribix in front of them couldn't register such a feeling called fear, or maybe it was too proud of its own abilities that it need not fear Mastermo.

To not fear Mastermo was perhaps going to be the second biggest mistake in the life of this Ribix. The first biggest mistake would undoubtedly be interrupting them at such an important time.

The Ribix probably had, not only the worst luck, but also the worst decision-making skills..

Zhihao stepped forward, his feet sounding heavy when hitting against the ground, his eyes mimicking the eery feeling that a demon would give you when it looked at its prey.

"Let me handle this one," Zhihao spoke up in a calm tone that seemed to be filled with fury.

Li Ling would be lying if he said that he wasn't a bit surprised. It was probably the first time in his life, he saw someone being this calm yet at the same time, being this angry and scary.

This scary demeanor was inherited from Zhihao's father. Just like his father, who could manage to intimidate people without even trying to, Zhihao also had a natural talent in it. In fact, when he was in school, most students didn't approach him because they thought he looked as if he would kill them for merely breathing. Zhihao had really worked hard to learn how to suppress this scary demeanor and tried his best to look as approachable as possible. It wasn't because he wanted people to approach him though.

Zhihao was an introverted person so his natural talent in looking unapproachable was highly beneficial for him, however, his mother would always force him to make friends, saying something along the lines of, 'You'll be left alone for the rest of your life if you don't make friends.'

In the end, maybe Zhihao was a bit afraid of what his mother had warned him and hence he tried his best to keep people at a distance and at the same time, look approachable so as to make a few friends.

Well... One couldn't say he actually succeeded in looking approachable cause if he had, he would have certainly had more friends than just Wang GuiYing and his boyfriend.

Zhihao looked at the giant snake-like creature and frowned as he equipped the biggest gun he had in his inventory, and it just so happened that the gun he equipped was M16. A gun with high accuracy, less recoil, and smooth operation.

Zhihao was not joking around when he said that he was going to be the one to deal with this thing. Without wasting another second, he opened fire on the Ribix that looked like a really weird snake that shouldn't even be called a snake.

It had a long body and four legs with a metallic shell on its back. The shell and legs looked similar to a turtle's, but the body unmistakenly belonged to a snake.

Li Ling gulped as he watched the fight. It wasn't every day he got to see Mastermo be this angry at something.

The snake sprang forward with its mouth wide open and its metallic fangs reflecting the gun in Zhihao's hand.

Zhihao opened fire and didn't stop. Bullet after bullet, none of the shots were wasted. All of them hit the intended target and this no longer looked like a fight. It looked like a cold murder.

Li Ling unconsciously covered his ears as he heard the nonstopping sound of bullets ringing out and punching a hole through the metallic body of the snake.

Zhihao couldn't be too sure, but for a single second there, he felt as if he saw a glint of regret in the eyes of the turtle-snake Ribix.

However, even if the creature was regretting his decision to attack these two, it was too late to feel any type of regret. There was no way Zhihao was done yet.

The gun ran out of bullets, but Zhihao had already restocked it within just a few seconds as he continued to rain bullets on the Ribix.

The Ribix was pushed back with the force of the open gunfire and Zhihao was still unsatisfied with it.

It seemed that this much wasn't enough to kill this thing, but this thought only made Zhihao smile in a menacing manner. It was better if it wasn't killed this easily. If this Ribix had died this soon, Zhihao would certainly feel dissatisfied. He wanted to torture it to death and bullets just weren't enough!

When the gun ran out of bullets for the second time, Zhihao didn't bother reloading it and instead, he decided to try out a weapon that he had bought for a really expensive price but had never got the chance to use.

Li Ling curiously looked at the thing that Zhihao had taken out and when he saw it, he cringed at the sight. It was something he disliked to the core and he would be lying if he said that he didn't feel a bit of pity for the turtle-snake Ribix that was going to fall prey to this deadly weapon.

Zhihao was excited to finally be able to try it out. He knew how it worked, but he had never personally seen it working before. The reason why he had never used it was simply because he never really wanted to torture an NPC with it. It could be said that no NPC angered him enough to use this weapon.

Li Ling gulped as he waited.

Zhihao threw the small worm at the Ribix and the Ribix was thoroughly confused. It had probably not even detected the small worm.

A few seconds passed and nothing seemed to change. Zhihao had a proud smirk on his face as he kept his eyes on the Ribix and glanced at the time, simultaneously. This worm took a bit of time to start showing its effect, but when it would finally start showing the destruction it could cause... It was something that was worth waiting for.

The turtle-snake Ribix probably thought that this was a good chance to attack these two and without wasting another second, it hissed and jumped at them with its jaw wide open, waiting to bite into the metallic suit that was worn by Zhihao.

Zhihao didn't move an inch. He kept his head high as he looked straight at the creature. His upper eyelids half-closed and his glare looking both icy and proud.

The snake was almost about to bite him, but suddenly, it stopped.

There was a sudden sound heard. The sound couldn't be deciphered, but it was surely coming from inside the Ribix.

The smirk on Zhihao's face grew deeper as he saw this reaction. The worm had finally done preparing.

The weapon Zhihao used may look like a worm, but only a fool would believe that it was really a worm. In reality, it was called an explosive worm and the main purpose of this weapon was to destroy something from the inside. All you needed to do was throw it at the enemy and the worm would find its way inside the enemy all on its own within a few seconds.

Once the worm was inside the body, the person or creature was as good as dead and had no chance of survival.

A weapon with a zero chance of survival, the high price for it was self-explanatory and Zhihao would never say that it was overpriced.

He had brought it for 2000 T-points and that too, after the discount and offers. Zhihao was proud of his choice of weapon.

The eye of the turtle-snake Ribix popped out and fell down on the floor, it rolled all the way over to Li Ling's side and stopped when it knocked against his shoes.

Li Ling gulped as he glanced at the eye and then back at the Ribix that was slowly starting to deform.

The Ribix looked confused as it paused and parts of its body started falling down one by one.

With a big blast, the Ribix had completely exploded and the worm went back to Zhihao's inventory.

Zhihao who was smirking proudly suddenly frowned as he looked down at the broken parts of the Ribix.

"Brain..."

Li Ling also walked over and followed Zhihao's sight that rested on a brain; the only non-metallic part in the body of the Ribix.

Zhihao was a bit confused as he asked, "Li Ling, did we ever get to know more information on how this thing was made?"

Li Ling shook his head as he answered, "We don't know."

Zhihao was confused and when he looked at the brain, the only theory that revolved in his mind was a bit creepy.

This brain looked a lot like a human's brain.

A Ribix that looked like a snake, had the shell of a turtle, but the brain of a human? It was only natural that he wanted to know more about how this abomination came into existence.
