Chapter 174 - Li Ling Warned Not To Do Anything Stupid

"No!" Zhihao cried out as he activated his suit, "Let's fight this thing together."

Li Ling smirked proudly as he heard this and responded, "I'm more than happy to fight alongside you."

Zhihao chuckled, "If you say such a thing, it makes me want to pounce at you more than the creature."

"..."

"Can you freaking stop flirting!" Wang GuiYing cried out.

Li Ling snickered as he ignored Wang GuiYing and responded to Mastermo, "You can pounce on me when we get home."

Zhihao's eyes slightly widened in surprise, "Deal! You can't take that back!"

Li Ling smiled brightly as he nodded in response, "I wouldn't dare go back on my word."

Li Ling attacked the creature with his air gun and the creature didn't look to be the least bit disturbed.

It was only now that Zhihao had taken a good look at the creature.

Its body was made out of metal, really dirty and rusty metal that looked fragile, and yet at the same time, it also seemed to be indestructible. It didn't have a distinct body. It looked somewhat like a baby snake, however, Zhihao was sure that it wasn't a snake because snakes had a freaking face!

A face consisted of a pair of eyes, a nose, and a mouth, at least that was the minimum requirement for Zhihao to call it a face. This creature clearly failed to meet those easy criteria. It had no nose and no eyes, however, it did indeed have a mouth that gulped down a whole lot of Ribots in a single attack.

There was no doubt about it, this was a creature that closely resembled an overgrown earthworm. A really obese one...

When Zhihao tried to steal a peek inside its mouth, he couldn't help but scrunch his face up in disgust. There were no teeth but there was sharp and spiky machinery inside that looked to grind anything that went into its mouth.

Zhihao could only hope that he doesn't end up being ground like the other unlucky Ribots.

Without wasting further time, he gulped and decided to seriously attack the creature with the intention to kill it.

He took a sharp breath in as he commanded his 3X Ribot army to spread out in smaller groups of ten and surround the earthworm from all sides.

Zhihao smirked as he aimed his shoulder-fired missile towards the creature's open mouth. It was unclear if he was trying to distract the creature's attention or actually trying to attack it with the intention of hurting it.

After a few shots, he ran out of missiles, however, this didn't affect Zhihao's movement too much.

He abandoned his shoulder-fired missile and equipped another explosive weapon.

This weapon was called the RB23 long fire.

The RB23 long fire wasn't a special weapon. Its overall stats were comparatively lower than other better weapons. Its accuracy rate was the lowest of the low and it was simply too hard to control. However, there was at least one thing that was good about it and it was the power of this monstrous weapon.

Its overall stats may not be impressive since most of them were near zero and one, but there was one particular stat that made it stand out from the rest. The damage stat.

The damage level was pretty high, in fact, it was as high as a weapon could get. A whopping five bars of damage clearly made this weapon the perfect choice in a fight where you'll need all the strength you can get.

This RB23 long fire was perfect for this war, however, there was just a tiny problem with it.

The first shot Zhihao fired hit an innocent building that was doing nothing but standing in the complete opposite direction.

Zhihao sighed as he patiently got ready to shoot again.

The problem was the accuracy rate. Nobody could predict where this weapon would decide to go and blow up. It was like a firecracker that couldn't be controlled no matter how hard you try.

There were even certain cases when the weapon had backfired and killed the players using them instead of the intended target.

This was also the reason why Zhihao would always hesitate to use this weapon. The best choice of action in most cases was to not choose this weapon at all, but the situation right now was different. He was desperate to beat this monster and in this dire desperation, Zhihao could think up of nothing better.

They needed to beat this monster as soon as possible cause if they waited long enough, the rest of the Ribix army would be arriving soon.

Zhihao shot the RB23 long fire again and once again it completely missed the target, hitting a tree and destroying it completely in the process.

"Damn it..." Zhihao cursed under his breath and glanced up at Li Ling who was trying his best to attack the Ribix earthworm from a safe distance.

Li Ling was surely working hard and so naturally Mastermo would also be inspired to work just as hard.

He reset the weapon again and aimed it at the open mouth of the creature.

This time... It hit the ground and made a huge hole in it.

"..." Zhihao really wanted to curse at the developers of this weapon and ask them why the hell they made such a uselessly stupid thing!!

Who would ever want to use this?! The aim is just sh*t!!

Zhihao, the one who had chosen to use it, gritted his teeth as he thought and cursed in his mind.

He had failed three times so he thought the fourth time would do the trick, however, he was once again frustrated to see that this time, it blasted away a part of his own Ribot army!

He threw the weapon on the ground harshly and stomped on it, "Hell with you!!"

He took a sharp breath in before picking up the weapon again and muttering to himself, "Fifth time is always lucky."

Not even a minute later, when the weapon shot towards the sky and never came down, Zhihao threw the weapon and kicked it away as he cursed, "Damn you unlucky fifth!!"

At the end of the day, this amazing weapon could not be used as it immediately broke after being kicked away by Zhihao.

Zhihao gritted his teeth as he flipped through his inventory and even after flipping through it again and again, he still could not find anything that caught his eye.

He closed his inventory in dissatisfaction and decided to abandon all thoughts of using any transferable weapons.

Zhihao smirked as he immediately got a brand new idea.

He opened his skill menu and activated a skill he never thought he would be activating.

[Skill: Master of Survival has been activated!]

[For the next ten minutes, no matter what happens, the heavens would be on your side and you'll be able to survive.]

"Great," He mumbled happily as he went to the other menu and read through all the in-game perks his character Captain Burn had.

It only took him a few minutes to read through all of it and understand what could be used and what couldn't.

In the next minute, he raised his left foot and activated his shoes. There was a burst of air mixed with blue flames coming from under his shoes and he immediately jumped up to see if it worked just like its specifications.

For the first time in life, Zhihao got the feeling of knowing what it's like to fly.

At first, it was a bit hard to control, but it eventually got a bit easier. If Zhihao were told to explain the feeling, he would certainly say that the feeling was as if you were wearing air skates. Skates that worked in the air and not on the ground.

He went over to Li Ling's side immediately and asked, "You have another one of those Imbis?"

Li Ling seemed to be a bit surprised as he questioned back, "Why are you asking?"

Zhihao smiled but instead of giving a straight answer, he responded with, "Answer me first."

Li Ling pursed his lips as he nodded, "I have it."

"Great!" Zhihao exclaimed, "Give me one."

Li Ling couldn't help but be distracted from the fight as he turned to look at Zhihao with a face that seemed to give out his feelings. He was suspicious of Zhihao.

"What are you planning on doing with it?"

Zhihao simply smiled as he reassured, "Just trust me, Gege."

Li Ling was silent for a minute but in the end, he still sighed as he caved into Zhihao's wish and handed over an unused Imbis to Zhihao.

"Don't do anything stupid with it," Li Ling warned. For some odd reason, he had a gut feeling that Zhihao was planning on doing something super stupid.

Zhihao smiled brightly as he took the Imbis and thanked Li Ling for it, "I won't do anything stupid. Thanks!"

Before Li Ling could say anything further, he saw Zhihao aiming straight for the creature's mouth with the Imbis in his hand.

"..." Li Ling's eyes went wide in panic.

You said you won't do anything stupid!!
