Chapter 180 - Li Ling Goes First

Li Ling wasted no further time as he activated his shoes and flew towards the head of the giant spider ribix.

Now that Li Ling had acted first, naturally, Zhihao would also not waste his time standing around. He smiled in satisfaction as he activated his shoes and followed after the man.

The two flew together as they immediately started to attack the thing with small attacks. They were merely testing what the spider could do. They needed to know its capabilities in order to formulate a plan that could help them beat this monster together.

"Yo, dumbdumb!" Wang GuiYing called out to Laura, "Don't just stand around watching them. Get to work!"

Laura pursed her lips as she heard herself being referred to as 'dumbdumb'

"Who the hell are you?!" Laura didn't sound kind at all as she questioned out.

At this exact moment, a ribix sprang at Wang GuiYing and the man reacted immediately by picking up his hammer and smashing the creature to the ground before looking up to give an answer, "I'm Trash.."

"..." It was certainly the first time in Laura's life that she had heard someone proudly call themself 'trash'. It was the first and it would naturally be the last as well.

Wang GuiYing jumped up and landed on another Ribix's head, crushing it beneath his feet instantly before he continued, "I'd ask who you are too but I'm not interested to know."

"..."

Leyah who heard this couldn't help but chuckle when she saw Laura's constipated facial expressions.

Laura gritted her teeth as she spat out hatefully, "You don't deserve to know my name!"

Wang GuiYing smiled thinly but there was no joy in his smile as he replied, "Believe that if it makes you feel better."

Laura was about to say something more but at this moment, she was stopped by Leyah who reminded her that the battle was still going on, "Stop wasting time and turn around!"

From the corner of her eyes, Laura saw something approaching her and with Leyah warning her to turn around, it was clear that there really was something that dared to attack her openly like this. She immediately turned on her feet and used her weapon to shoot the head of the ribix that was so bold to attack her from behind.

Leyah smirked as she asked, "Do you think you'll survive next time? Stop getting distracted!"

Laura glanced back at Leyah and sneered, "You should worry more about yourself. Don't become a dead weight in the battle."

"Don't worry, I'm not you. Even if I die, I would still not be considered dead weight."

"..." Laura took a sharp breath in and decided to completely ignore the girl as she focused on fighting against the Ribix that seemed to never be exhausted by attacking her.

Leyah also didn't waste any further time taunting the girl. With her leg still injured, her movements were restricted. She could stand and limp a few steps but if she did anything more, she was surely gonna get herself in big trouble. After all, falling down on a battlefield was like waiting to get trampled to death.

Leyah was certainly not that stupid.

She stayed in the same place covered by two or three of her soldiers who made sure that she was well protected. She could not fight anymore but that didn't stop her from commanding the soldiers.

Leyah frowned as she looked at the intense battlefield that was filled with Ribix and Ribots.

She wasn't fighting now, she was observing and because she was observing, she could clearly see what others could not. The battlefield was lively and active. It was filled with both alive Ribix and a lot of dead ones as well, but it wasn't just the ribix corpse that filled this entire place.

They had managed to defeat a lot of the ribix, however, the ribix had also managed to take down a lot of their army.

Some XY Ribots had been destroyed and fell on other 2X and 3X Ribots, crushing the other beneath its weight and causing even more destruction to their side. Leyah's own army of soldiers had been reduced to almost less than half its former size.

Comparatively, Laura's men seemed to be in a better condition. They had better and more effective weapons which made it more difficult for a ribix to kill them.

If Leyah were to calculate an approx amount of losses that their side underwent, she would say that more than sixty percent of their army had already been killed off, and included in that sixty percent, only ten percent of soldiers were controlled by Laura.

The losses on the ribix's side were much more in number but not as much in percentage. They had a much larger army to begin with and hence, even if a lot of the ribix were killed off and destroyed, their army was still large enough to be considered a threat to them.

With the new addition of the spider ribix, Captain Burn and Captain Liv were busy and the Ribots they controlled would naturally be affected by the lack of instructions they got.

Although Li Ling and Zhihao still managed to control their Ribots, they weren't able to pay too much attention to it since they were already trying to think and find a way to defeat this giant ribix that threatened them.

Leyah clicked her tongue as she glared at the Ribix that continued to fight and attack without any sense of hesitation. These vicious creatures had been tormenting them for years now. After the first war, humans were forced to go underground. They were forced to live away from the sun and they were forced to do a lot of things they didn't enjoy doing.

Leyah's memories had certainly been messed with, but there was a part of her memory that she could swear was real. It was her family. When she had posed as a tour guide and told Zhihao about her family, she hadn't lied at all.

Her family died slowly one by one till there was only her left. To be left alone in this world was not a good feeling, but she continued to suffer through it. She continued to try her best and live because there was something she wanted to achieve and it was called 'revenge'.

She was mad at everyone.

She was mad at the two Captains who couldn't save them from such a fate.

She was mad at the government that couldn't do anything to stop the ribix.

She was mad at Laura who gave the solution of hiding and forgetting.

She was mad at her family for forcing her to live. She was mad at herself as well because she was helpless at the most critical moments.

She was mad at so many people, however, she never planned on taking revenge against any of them.

Her real revenge was against the Ribix who had ruined her world.

If it weren't for them, none of this would have happened. If that damned ribix virus hadn't spread, they would all still be living peacefully in this beautiful world.

It was their fault!

Leyah's hatred against these creatures was strong and there was no way she would ever forgive them. In her heart, they deserved death and in her mind as well, they deserved death.

She cursed as she realized that if this battle were to continue like this, they wouldn't be able to defeat the ribix.

With their decreasing army, there was no way they could take on all of these ribix.

The only way they would have any chance of survival was if they went all out and focused more on attack rather than defense.

"Go," Leyah muttered.

One of the three soldiers who were protecting her turned his head in confusion as he heard this.

"I said go," She repeated.

"What do you mean?" The soldier questioned as he pushed back a ribix that had jumped on him.

Leyah smiled thinly as she took a sharp breath in and cried out, "Go and attack them!"

The soldier clearly heard this and he could understand this order as well, however, he still didn't move from his place as he kept protecting Leyah along with the other two.

Leyah couldn't help but sigh as she saw the soldier's stubbornness, "Do you not believe in me?!"

"..."

"I told you to go all out! Attack them!" Leyah's face looked pale as she ordered out, "Abandon defense!"

The soldier didn't even bother glancing back at Leyah as he asked, "You want us to give up on you?"

Leyah scoffed as she heard this. She looked down at her leg that was in a really bad condition.

"Captain, we won't let you die," the soldier added.

Leyah pursed her lips as she took her gun and aimed it at a ribix that was getting ready to attack them. The piercing sound of the bullet was loud and as soon as it hit the target, the ribix was instantly down.

"Do you think your commander is weak?"

"..."

"Even if you chop off both my legs, I still have my arms with me and if you chop off my arms, I can still hold a knife with my mouth."
