45 Let Darling Teach You How to Open a Milk Tea Shop
Dean Du sat alone at the desk in the room, holding her forehead in sadness after sending Luo Feng off that night.
Ai Tingya was worried about Dean Du so walked to her room worriedly after she got the other children to sleep.
“Xiaoya? Come in and sit.”
Ai Tingya had just stood in front of the door when Dean Du’s tired voice came from inside.
Ai Tingya pushed open the door. “Dean, you’re still awake?”
Dean Du shook her head and said, “Sit. I have something to tell you.”
Dean Du had not slept well ever since the original cake shop changed owners. She was in a very bad state, like a piece of decayed tree bark that would collapse at any time.
Ai Tingya’s heart ached for the Dean, but she was too weak to help.
The two of them sat facing each other for a while before Dean Du said faintly, “Luo Feng told me about his thoughts on the dessert shop after dinner today.”
“But we haven’t confirmed that Luo Feng has to fork out the money yet. Didn’t you say that you will apply to the Authorities first? Perhaps the funding application might be approved,” Ai Tingya said.
Dean Du revealed a tired smile and said, “Actually, I’ve already applied. It was rejected as expected.”
The government’s functions were limited. It could ensure that the children in the orphanage would not have to worry about food and clothing at best. They relied on social donations for everything else, but they only accepted them once a year before the new year.
“I told Little Luo this because I hope he won’t interfere too much. A child his age is the most arrogant and thinks of everything very simply. I’m afraid he’ll lose his confidence after a setback.” Dean Du explained.
Ai Tingya’s expression darkened. She felt that he had an omnipotent power, perhaps because Luo Feng had taken care of her too well.
However, if she thought about it carefully, Luo Feng was just a high school student with good grades.
She was sensitive and felt that Dean Du was blaming her for telling Luo Feng about the orphanage after explaining so much to her.
Dean Du changed the topic unexpectedly and continued on. “But Little Luo seems to have realized these things. He said that if he wants to open a dessert shop, he wants to give a portion of his shares to the orphanage. This child is too smart. I can’t hide anything from him.”
“What did you do then?”
“I agreed,” Dean Du said with a bitter smile.
It wasn’t that she was easily persuaded but that Luo Feng had given her a reason she couldn’t refuse.
“Guess what Little Luo told me?” Dean Du leaned back in his chair. “He said that it’s a good opportunity for the children. Aren’t the children in the orphanage all outstanding like you? Many of them might have to work after high school. He said that this shop will be their guarantee if anyone is willing to enter the dessert industry.”
Dean Du would agree to any condition for the sake of the children in the orphanage, not to mention that Luo Feng was giving them half of the shop for free.
“Little Luo asked me to take a look at the address of the new shop tomorrow and start transferring money,” Dean Du continued. “He asked me to hide it from you first so that it would not affect your revision. He wanted to tell you when the shop opens. He’s really a good person.”
Ai Tingya felt a warm feeling in her heart hearing Dean Du’s sigh. Luo Feng was even considerate of her feelings.
“I understand. Let’s do as Luo Feng thinks.” Ai Tingya stood up and appraised. “This is indeed our best choice at the moment.”
Ai Tingya did not go back to sleep after leaving Dean Du’s room. Instead, she went to the library.
She was very grateful for Luo Feng’s help to the orphanage, but just as Dean Du said, Luo Feng might have thought too simply about opening the shop. She had to think of a complete business model in order to avoid making a loss.
She had to do something!
…
The next morning, Luo Feng saw the two huge dark circles under Ai Tingya’s eyes the moment he entered the classroom.
“What did you do last night?” Luo Feng handed the breakfast to Ai Tingya. Today, it was a ham sandwich, clear tea, and the staple boiled eggs.
Ai Tingya exchanged an entire notebook for breakfast and said, “This is the plan I wrote.”
Luo Feng flipped through it and said, “Not bad, Little Tingya. You’re already thinking of helping me manage my business so early.”
He quickly went through the proposal. It ranged from the location of the shop to the selling price of the main product. She even suggested hiring a professional pastry chef as the main sign board and drew a few sketches for the renovation of the shop.
Ai Tingya would definitely be a big shot if she played a simulation entrepreneurial game.
However, Luo Feng was a man who had started a successful business after all. He would have been a big boss now if it weren’t for his illness. Ai Tingya was still a high school student, there were many things that she did by the book and her vision couldn’t escape the limitations of the lack of experience.
If he opened a shop according to Ai Tingya’s plan, the shop would be able to survive. However, it would be a couple’s small shop at best. The kind where they would have to change locations if the landlord increased the rent.
He would not make a loss and could earn some small money.
No! This was the opposite of his original plan!
His original plan was to invest, make a profit, lose money, invest more, and increase the profit! The faster he lost, the better! He would really make money lying down!
However, Ai Tingya might become very sad if things went according to the original plan. Luo Feng knew best how strong-headed the future female CEO was.
“Let me give you some pointers since you’re so sincere.” Luo Feng said seriously. “What do you have to do when you receive guidance?”
She had to call him by an intimate name.
Ai Tingya laughed. “Darling, can you tell me what you think?”
“Hehe, first of all, the budget for hiring a professional pastry chef is limited. Moreover, we don’t have any connections. We will only be able to hire a medium-level pastry chef who makes similar snacks to other cake shops at most. It won’t be competitive in the market.”
“Besides when thinking about the cost, snacks and cakes are all fresh. Their shelf life is very short. To be honest, this might be a little expensive for a new shop that doesn’t have any regular customers. Therefore, I think a beverage shop is more suitable than a cake shop!”
“Finally, your shop design is much prettier than the old dessert shop on the street. It has the vigor of the young, but it doesn’t make people’s eyes light up.”
Ai Tingya was entranced. “How will it be able to make the other people’s eyes light up?”
“Simple and high-end renovations!” Luo Feng smiled, “It is the most eye-catching of all!”
He picked up a pen and outlined a simple bar and seat on the paper. It was separated by a black frame. The black, white, and gray colors could make one feel comfortable.
“The tables and chairs at the bar are wood-colored, so they won’t look so stiff,” added Luo Feng.
Ai Tingya held the sketch and exclaimed, “It’s so beautiful. I’ve never seen such a beverage shop! Luo Feng, you’re so awesome!”
Of course it was beautiful. This was the most popular renovation style in the future. The competition in the beverage shops was not so intense yet. Luo Feng thought that since he wanted to do it well, he might as well set up a brand and occupy the local market first for long-term development. In the future, he will open franchise shops all over the country!
