Saturday passed by slowly and soon it was Sunday, another day for Jade to meet up with Jake. She wasn't as anxious as she felt yesterday. Not that she was beginning to feel comfortable around the guy. That man still has a bad reputation with women, so she has to be on guard at all time. But for some reason, Jade was beginning to feel that Jake might not as bad as she thought or as the bloggers paint him. For starters, he didn't do anything to make uncomfortable, and even his stare wasn't as awkward as they usually were. Not once did he mention anything about what had happened that night as she has expected him to. His only fault was that he was too picky and he took her whole time. After from that she didn't see anything unusual.
About two days ago, she had read a few articles about how formidable Jake was in the business industry. About how scary he was when dealing with partners and staffs, so much that no one dares to cross his path. But yet there was one side of him that taintewas d that almost perfect reputation of the King of Tech.
Jade had thought that Jake's reputation might have been perfect, if he hadn't decided to a promiscuous fellow.
She got out of bed and went about her weekend morning routine, which involved helping her mother out with the chores. She helped her Grace in making breakfast which they all ate happily.
Jake had called to inform her earlier that they won't be having their session until later in the day. Jade was ecstatic about the piece of news. She was able to have a hearty breakfast, unlike yesterday when she had starved all day.
Meanwhile at the other side of the city, Jake had a gloomy look on his face as he walked his grandfather to the laboratory to get his test done. Grandfather dragged along with his lips pouted. He has been telling Jake that he was fine and that breaking his diet wasn't going to cause him any harm, but Jake wouldn't hear of it.
"Jake I'm not sick. It was just one meal" He said for what seemed like the hundredth time. Jake continued walking without listening to him.
"Fine go, I'm not going" Grandfather stubbornly said as he plonked himself on one of the waiting seats in the hallway. Jake paused and turned to him, his gaze was stern and cold. Grandfather quickly turned his face away to avoid that threatening look. He couldn't believe he was being scolded by his own grandson and sincerely he was a bit frightened by him.
"Grandfather!" Jake called in a calm and cold tone.
"No I'm not going" He muttered with his hands folded across his chest as he continued staring in the opposite direction.
"Grandfather believe I would carry you across my shoulder if you don't move"
"You wouldn't dare. I'm your grandfather. Grandfather" Grandfather Beau exclaimed. How could his own grandson bully and threaten him in such a manner.
"Exactly why I'm going to carry you if you keep being stubborn" Jake said still staring at the grumpy old man.
"I'm not being stubborn. I mean it when I said I'm fine. It's just one meal and you're just being paranoid. I won't go" Grandfather insisted.
"One meal? You knew you are supposed to stay off such food but you ate it anyway, because you wouldn't care what happens to you after that. What about Blake who you sent to get you that food? Do you think he'll be okay if something happens to you? Do you think I'll be okay if I fail in my responsibility of taking care of you? I failed with dad but certainly not with you. Now stand up before I strap you to a wheel chair and wheel you there!" Jake said angrily. He couldn't believe his grandfather would neglect his health just for something trivial.
Grandfather Beau couldn't say a word as he stared at Jake. He always knew Jake carried the guilt of his father's death in his heart. The boy has always being regretful for neglecting his father's health, even though he was still a young boy at the time. Jake was just be cautious and he didn't want to make the same mistake as he did before, but that wasn't his mistake but his father's. Henry, Jake father had kept the fact that he was having health complications from his family and they only discovered it when he had that cardiac arrest that killed him.
Grandfather Beau sighed. "But i really hate those needles" He complained with a sad pout.
"You should have thought about that before ordering a high fat saturated meal" He said, his eyes still as cold.
"Fine" Grandfather Beau yielded as he stood up from his seat. He grumpily pushed pass Jake and walked ahead with a frown on his face. He was really regretting his decision of eating that food in the living room. He should have eaten it in his bedroom as he usually did. Now he just has to go through the test to put Jake's heart to rest.
Soon they were both done at hospital. Jake had met with cardiologist who was handling his grandfather's case, and he had assured him that he was okay. Not that there has been any improvement but at least he was stable and should therefore adhere to the lifestyle modification outlined for him.
Although Jake has been assured that his grandfather was fine, he still couldn't get past his anger. He could understand that his grandfather could act childish sometimes given his age and personality, and he could sympathize with him given that his favorite kinds of food had been removed from his meal plan, he still couldn't understand why Blake could have been so stupid to allow their grandfather expose himself to such risk. He expected Blake to have acted differently, he should have been able to do the right thing instead of aiding his grandfather.
Jake held his grandfather by the arm as they both walked out of the hospital. They were still walking down the hallway, when Jake heard his name. The voice sounded familiar and he could already feel his blood rage just by the sound of that voice.
He lifted his head up and he felt blood rush to his head, his hands clenched into a fist and he could feel his tight grind in their own accord.
Jake was instantly filled with rage when he saw the face he hated most in this world. He subconsciously let go of his grandfather's arm and slowly walked towards the figure standing feets away from.
Kyle could already feel his legs give way, threatening to let him down in the next unfortunate second. He could feel his heart thump wildly against his chest. His brain was beginning to cuss at him for making himself known to Jake. He knew Jake has been out to harm him, if possible kill him. And now he just delivered himself in a platter to Jake.
"Ja..ake" Kyle stammered as he took a step back. Cold sweat broke out on his face. Something in him wanted him to stand firm and receive whatever punishment Jake dishes out for him, but deep down he knew he'd be dead before he fully receives it. If his punishment was death, he was sure he deserved it.
"Jake...I'm sorry" Kyle pleaded with fear. But Jake didn't say a word. His eyes were locked on Kyle and they were filled with anger, pain, and betrayal. Jake drew close and held him by his collar. His fist was about to land on Kyle when he felt someone hold his arm.
Jake turned to see his grandfather holding his arm tightly. "Jake let him go. This isn't the time or place" Grandfather Beau said.
Jake looked at his grandfather silently, before returning his gaze back to Kyle. His eyes were blood shot, and he could feel adrenaline pump through his veins.
Jake reluctantly let go of Kyle. He gave him one last look before storming with his grandfather tailing behind.
"G..rand...father" Kyle called with a quavering voice, as he held onto the old man's sleeve.
Grandfather Beau stopped on his track, and looked at Jake's back as he angrily walked away.
"You've lost all the right to call me that. And if you must stay in this country, try you best to be invisible before my family" Grandfather Beau warned before pulling his hand from Kyle.
Kyle felt devastated by grandfather's word, but he could nod. He knew what was waiting for him, if he were to return back to the country. He had broken the family trust -his family trust, and there was no one to blame but himself. Is it possible for him to seek forgiveness?
Grandfather Beau sighed deeply before walking away. He had a feeling that trouble was coming soon.
