Chapter 97 - Win His Woman

Jade was enjoying her time at her new department. Working with this sets of people was comfortable and she was looking forward to having a great time with them.

"Hey Jade" Julius greeted as he approached Jade's desk with a smile.

"Hey" Jade greeted with a smile of her own, she continued with her work not paying much attention to him.

"Sara" He waved at her, and she also did the same.

"Uhmm..Jade, so how are you enjoying your time with us here?" He asked curiously, making Jade pause her work and raise her gaze to him. She closed her eyes briefly before opening them again, like she was thinking about a suitable answer to that question.

"Is it that bad that you have to think about it?" Julius teased resting his butt on her desk with his hands folded across his chest.

"Come on, no" Jade replied with a light blush. That wasn't true.

"Actually it's nice working here, I mean I can't see myself working at another department for now. I like working with you guys. But..."

"But what?" Julius asked inquisitively.

"This floor is just too far from the cafeteria. I mean, imagine going down to the cafeteria every now and then to grab a cup of coffee" Jade said with a cute pout. She was used to walking to the cafeteria which was on the same floor which she worked earlier. But now, she has to ride the elevator before she could go there.

"Well that isn't a problem. I thought you wanted to say something serious like Sara's giving you a hard time. I'd have asked for you to be moved closer to my desk" He said, earning him a glare from Sara.

"Hell no, Sara has been a sweet heart. You can't say smack about her" Jade warned with a mock frown.

"Okay I get it." " As for your coffee, how about I bring one for you whenever I'm getting one for myself" Julius offered.

"No you can't do that. I was only joking" Jade refuted.

"Well I'm getting you that coffee, and you can't change my mind. Don't want you working with a sad and coffee deprived look on that gorgeous face of yours. Isn't that right Sara?" Sara who has been pretending to be focused on her work, turned and nodded her head, "Yeah"

"You see, even your sweet heart says so. So Jade don't ever worry about coffee. Just keep working with us and continue enjoying our lovely company" He said flashing her a killer smile.

"Bu..."

"I'll see you soon with that cup of coffee" Julius said before walking away.

Jade watched as he walked away. She didn't know what to say, she wasn't asking him to make getting her coffee his daily routine. For Christ sake, he was a senior colleague and doing that would be embarrassing. Jade turned to Sara when she cleared her throat.

"Someone's got an admirer" Sara teased wrigging her brow playfully.

"What? Come on. I think he was just being nice. You should know the kind of person he is right?" Jade said more like she was asking Sara.

"Ya I do, and he's definitely not someone to get anyone coffee" Sara said with a knowing smile.

"Tch..you're just over thinking. He's just being nice. And I know you know it. But you just want to mess with me." Jade told her before turning to her desktop.

"Ya maybe I'm just trying to mess with you, or maybe not" Sara replied.

Jade continued her work and she was loving every bit of it. Designing graphics for games was one of the things she loved. To her it was a dire passion. Not only were her colleagues of great help, she has also been enjoying an immeasurable amount of peace, because those two who must not be named, haven't been showing their faces around her for a while now. She couldn't help but be grateful for this. Her only wish was for things to continue this way. But that was not going to happen, because the very next minute, there came her least favorite person walking in to the office in search of her.

"Jade there's someone here for you" Jade heard someone say. She lifted her gaze up and to her surprise there was Cale waving at her.

Jade scoffed softly before returning her gaze back to monitor on her desk. She didn't have the time or energy to pay attention to him. She minded her work like she hasn't seen him, because to her, she didn't see shit.

Cale frowned when Jade ignored him like he was a nonentity. He looked around if anybody had seen that. He was quite embarrassed by Jade's behavior. He faked a smile and sauntered towards Jade's desk.

"Jade" He called.

"Yes Mr Stuart" She replied coldly.

"Please can I see you outside for a minute?" He asked.

"I'm sort of busy right now" She replied non-chalantly as she continued her work without glancing at him.

Cale looked at Sara who was seated beside Jade. He was really embarrassed.

"Jade please" He lowered himself so that he was at same level with her. Jade's hands paused from what she was doing, she didn't like the close proximity.

"Could you move please" Jade said coldly. From Cale's position she could feel his breath on her face.

"Uhmm..sorry" He quickly apologized as he stood upright.

"What do you want now?" Jade turned to look at him with a scowl on her face.

"Let's talk outside"

"I'll give you five minutes since it's already my lunch time. Let's go to the cafeteria" Jade finally agreed. Well not because she wanted to, but because she could see the gaze of some interested parties fixed on them.

"Okay" Cale let out a small smile.

Soon they were both seated at the cafeteria. Jade ordered her meal and took a seat opposite Cale.

"Talk I'm listening" Jade said before taking a bite from the chicken burger she had gotten for lunch. Cale was surprised about how cold Jade was getting each day.

"Jade I'm sorry. Can we get past this? I know I messed up and I won't stop apologizing till you forgive me"

"Is that all you came to say? Because you're beginning to sound like a broken record" Cale was shocked by Jade's response. When did Jade get this cold?

"You really should say why you're here, and be quick about it, I don't want that woman of yours coming here to create a scene" Jade commented with a serious look on her face.

"Okay. But promise not to turn me down or see me as a shameless person"

"What I think about you won't change Mr Stuart, and also I'm not in the mood to make promises. So out with it" Jade said calmly.

"Please Jade I need you to help me" He paused and observed her reaction. Jade just stared at him quietly without giving any reaction. She could already tell why he had come looking for her. This man was just so shameless.

"I'm supposed to do make a power point presentation for a pitch, which I'm supposed to do next week, but I'm so swarmed with work. Can you please help me?" Cale pleaded.

Jade chuckled, she almost spat out the food in her mouth. He was swarmed with work? If she didn't know better she might actually believe him.

"Are you really swarmed with work or you just don't know how to go about it? And what happened to your fiancee? She's too busy too? Don't tell she has no idea too" Jade said amusedly. The word fiancee made heart constrict a little. She hated addressing Stephanie by that title.

"Jade" Cale called softly. He shouldn't be angered by her words. He wanted her back, and most importantly he wanted her favours, so he couldn't get angry at her.

"That's Miss Peterson for you. We're not familiar or are we?" She asked cocking a brow at him.

"If you want your presentation done, you should probably use that search engine called google, I'm sure you'll know that. They do offer directives to people who don't know her to make a power point presentation" Jade said in a serious tone. If Cale was angry now, he didn't show it.

"Jade please. I know I messed up, but -but this isn't you. This was supposed to be our dream. Me and you working together, taking the world"

"Dream?"Jade scoffed. "Well I guess I wasn't dreaming then. I was probably hypnotized and even if it was a dream, it must have been a scary dream. But thank God I woke up from that so called dream. Now Mr Stuart if you can, I'd like to have this lovely lunch with some peace and quiet. This conversation is uphurling and I'm about losing my appetite" Jade said dismissively as she glared at him. Cale looked at her quietly. He took a deep breath and left dejectedly.

That Jade had turned him down now, did not mean that he'll be giving up. And from the way she had sounded mean to him, he could tell that she was hurt and still angry about every thing, and that was proof that she still loved and cared for him right?

He going to win his woman back.. Because without her, he wouldn't know what to do.
