WALKER'S MANSION
Amy sauntered into the house after the close of work. It was already Tuesday, and that's an extra twenty four hours outside the stipulated fourty eight hour she had given her mother to provide Michael. It was high time her mother made her decision.
Provide Michael or she leaves?
Mrs Walker and her husband were sitted in the sitting room watching the news headlines when Amy walked him.
"Good evening Dad" Amy greeted her father, her face void of any smile. She hasn't been able to let out a smile since the grand exposé.
"Good evening princess. How was day?" He asked.
"Fine" Amy replied.
"You look exhausted. Go freshen up and come down to eat something okay?"
"Dad thanks, but I'm not hungry" Amy replied. Mr Walker didn't believe her. Looking at her, it was damn obvious she had lost some weight recently and it wasn't because she wasn't hungry, but because she couldn't bring herself to eat most especially at home.
"Amy you shouldn't starve yourself. All this things will resolve themselves. But you need food to provide you energy" Mr Walker told her.
Amy sighed as she looked at her mother for a second, "Sometimes the discomfort in your own home, can take whatever appetite you tend to have" She said with a cold tone. Obviously she was referring to her mother.
The fact that her mother wasn't taking the matter or even her threat seriously, made her to some how dislike the woman who had birthed her. She has always known her mother was shrewd, egoistic and stubborn. But what she didn't expect was for her mother to be evil.
Mr Walker looked at his wife and sighed out loudly before returning his gaze back to his daughter.
"Alright, you can go in" He gestured to her with his hand.
"Okay" Amy gave one last look to her mother, and for some reason her temper rose. Her mother's silence was putting her on an edge. She was ready to snap at her, but she refrained herself. No matter her bad her mother was, that didn't give her the room to disrespect her.
She was going to ask her mother what was her decision, but inside of her she already knew the answer to that, and somehow had a foreboding about how that conversation was going to be.
Amy had only taken a few step past her mother, when her voice came roaring from behind her.
"Stop there, young lady" Mrs Walker spoke in a cold and stern tone, as she rose up to her feet. Her husband's eyes darted towards her with a menancing glare which Mrs Walker noticed when their eyes met, but she wasn't bothered by it. He could glare at her all he wants.
Amy stood still with her back facing her mother. She closed her eyes briefly for a second as she mentally prepared herself for this confronting battle.
"When I'm talking you look at me, and show some respect!" Mrs Walker roared.
Amy let out a derisive scoff as she turned to face her mother. "Mother you seem to have forgotten that respect is earned and it goes both ways. It is reciprocal! You don't just demand it, you show it and others equally return the favour" Any replied dourly.
"Don't be rude!"
"And stop being overbearing" Amy retorted.
Mrs Walker was surprised with Amy's attitude. "Amy I didn't teach you to be rude. Are you going to keep acting this way because of some peasant and his poverty stricken family? Did you really think you would have been happy with such a boy? I know those type of people they're nothing but gold diggers. I meet their kind in my court room, clinging to other people's fortune, and I did what was best for you, because I know what's best for you" Mrs Walker said slowly increasing her tone at every word.
"Really? You do?" Amy asked in a disbeliving tone. She doubted her mother had any idea about what was good for any of her children.
"Yes I do. I'm your mother and I have every right to make decisions for you, so stop giving those God forsaken and irritating attitudes. Instead of spending so much energy on throwing tantrums, why don't you spend it on developing a relationship with Ethan. Though he might have been a loud mouth, he's still preferrable than that loser who I pray should be dead somewhere in the mountains, and he's the man I have chosen for you" Mrs Walker told her.
" Vivien!" Her husband snapped, but Mrs Walker was unfazed by it.
Amy could feel her blood boil as she laughed sardonically, she couldn't believe her mother right now, "Chosen for me? And why would you wish death on someones child mother?" Amy asked angrily, her tone highly irritated.
"Because I can" She replied.
Amy retrieved her step from the stairs as she covered the space between them. She squared her gaze to her mother and Mrs Walker could see the anger flashing in her eyes.
"Mother where is Michael?" Amy asked in a deadpan tone, her gaze on her mother were fire blazing and menancing. She was losing her mind.
"In Jail!" Mrs Walker replied curtly. Amy stiffened at her mother's reply, she slightly shook her head in denial.
She didn't want to believe her mother could be that cruel. There was no way...
"Why do you look so shocked?" Mrs Walker scoffed at her daughter's expression. "I thought you were so keen on finding him, now you know. So what now?" She asked in a daring tone.
"Vivien"
"Mother!"
Came the voices of both Lair and his father. Suprise and disbelief were clearly written on all their faces. They didn't think they've heard right. Mostly Mr Walker who was now standing on his feet as he stared at his wife back.
He couldn't believe what she said was true, but knowing his wife and what she was capable of, he knew what she had just said was the throat. Lair has just returned, only to hear his mother drop that bomb shell.
Amy looked as if her blood has been drained as she suddenly became pale white, her eyes were void of any emotion but they were fixed on her mother. Her voice chord sudden felt like it was paralysed and words couldn't come out of it, or maybe it was her brain that has gone on a shut down.
Lair who has become furious after hearing his mother unrepentant confession and was on the verge of lashing at her, couldn't help but noticed his sister expression. It seems she was becoming catatonic, giving the time that has passed as she remained unresponsive.
He dropped his bag on the floor and dashed closer to Amy. As soon as his arm touched Amy, she collapsed in his hands, completely staring every one of them, including their mother.
"Amy!" They all echoed with fear.
***************
Jake has been sitting in his car since he drove into the mansion. After his chat with Phil, he was yet to accept this new development, that he might or rather that he was in love with Jade.
He was lost on what to do. How to go about this so called love feeling. He has never been in love and in all honesty he has always loathed that word 'LOVE'. His reasons were unknown. But now that he was, it was really scaring the shit out of him.
So what now? After realizing his feelings, what should he do now? Tell her? Or what?
What if he tells her and she doesn't feel the same way as he does? What would he do then? What if he tells her and it scares her away?
Jake leaned back on his seat as he pondered on all this thoughts going through his mind. A knock on the window jolted him back to reality.
He turned to look at the window to see his grandfather standing there, signaling him to open the door, and Jake did exactly that.
"You don't want to sleep here do you?" Grandfather Beau asked as he climbed into the passengers seat.
"Good evening Grandfather" Jake greeted as he stared at his grandfather.
"My evening is good, but you don't look like you're having one yourself" Grandfather Beau said, as he looked at Jake with concern. Jake has been sitting in his car for the last hour without stepping into the house. He was sure something was eating him up again just like the last time in his study.
"Maybe...maybe not" He sighed. "I don't know". Yes, he doesn't know if he should be happy after finding out exactly how he felt towards Jade or if he should be scared. So he didn't know if the evening was a good one.
"Offended your friend again?" Grandfather Beau asked, his gaze closely observing Jake.
Jake turned to look at him and he sighed. "No, I think I might I have done something worse" He leaned his head back on the chair, his gaze focused ahead.
"Like what?"
"Like falling in love with her"
