Chapter 184 - Look Good In A Burlap Sack

Jade got herself ready for bed.

She laid down on her bed as she replayed all the events that took place tonight, beginning from when Jake had come to pick her up from the office looking so dashing, till when he placed that kiss on her head. Her thoughts reminded her just how fierce and hard Jake had kissed her that night at the hotel, she blushed and turned to her side to stiffle her giggle with her pillow, so that her mother and mischievous brother who has been parading her door for God knows what, wouldn't hear her. 

She frowned when her phone started ringing. Who the hell could be calling her at this time, and for what purpose? She grumpily reached for it from the bedside table.

Her eyes flew wide open and her heart skidded several beats when she saw who was calling. It was Jake. She hurriedly sat up and picked up the call.

"Hey" She said in a low voice, almost sounding hoarse and sleepy. 

"Asleep already?" Jake asked feeling guilty that he might have woken her up. His voice was sounding hot and sexy to Jade. Did she just realize how deep and lovely her boyfriend's voice could be? Nah... she didn't think so. Maybe it was the night that was intensifying the sexiness of his voice. 

"Jade?" Jake called out softly when he didn't get a response from her. Maybe he had woken her up. He didn't know what had gotten into him, prompting him into calling her in the first place. But he couldn't sleep without hearing her voice. After turning and tossing under his quilt for a while he decided to call her.

"No, I was about to" She said, snapping out of her reverie.

"Oh, I'm sorry then" 

"What for?" Jade asked in confusion. 

"For disturbing you" 

Jade panicked when she heard him apologize. He wasn't going to end the call now was he? She wasn't really sleeping.

"No you didn't. Don't hang up" She said hurriedly, she didn't want him to hang up.

"I'm fully awake" She assured him as she tried normalizing her voice. 

"Want to say something?" She asked, in an attempt to keep him on the line.

"Hmmm...no, I just wanted to hear you voice before I sleep" He said in a slightly serious tone, making his voice sound really deep and romantic, making Jade blush.

"I like that" Jade said as she rolled across her bed.

"And..." He paused. 

"And what?" Jade pressed.

"I miss you already" He said a soft and gentle tone, tingling Jade's ears. Her heart fluttered sheepishly.

"I —" Jade couldn't bring the words out of her mouth. She also wanted to tell him that she missed him too, even though they had spent the major part of the night together. 

Jake got up from the sofa he was sitting, and moved back to the bed, "Did I tell you how beautiful you looked tonight?" Jake asked, as he laid down on his back, his free hand tucked behind in head as he looked at the ceiling, but his mind virtualized a picture of Jade with her lupsciously glossy lip. 

"No you didn't" Jade replied with a warm blush crawling up her cheeks. She rolled to lie on her stomach, her legs swinging in the air.

"I'm sorry I didn't. It's all your fault, you keep knocking me senseless with your beauty. I wonder how you keep doing that" He hissed. 

Jade giggled, "And you looked good too" She also complimented him, remembering how dashing he looked in his burgundy colored suit. 

"Just good?" Jake asked, cocking a brow.

"Okay pleasant" She replied. 

"Pleasant? Just pleasant?"

"Mmm, pleasantly handsome" Jade said as she bit her lower lips. Jake chuckled when he heard all the things she was saying. Couldn't she have said that from the beginning. 'Silly girl' 

"That's better. I know I'm gorgeously handsome" He had a picture of Jade rolling her eyes in his mind, he knew she secretly does that whenever he praises his look.

'Ha, conceited again' She hissed in her mind, as she rolled her eyes. But anyway he was right. He was sure handsome, even more than most men she knew.

"I'm seeing tomorrow right? Hope you haven't forgotten about the party, and your request to see your idol, hmm?" He asked, a smiling playing in his lips, knowing he was his girlfriend idol. He thought about how surprised she would be when she realizes the truth tomorrow. He smiled in anticipation. He couldn't wait!

"No I didn't" She definitely hasn't forgotten about it. 

"Ermm, Jake about the party, can you tell me what kind of party it is, so I can know what to wear?" She remembered she had asked him this same questions a week ago, and his reply has been for her to just look beautiful, now she hoped for a better reply. It would help herself and Amy in knowing what to buy.

"It's a party for some charity stuff" 

"Really?" She scratched her forehead.

"So what do people wear to those?" She couldn't help but ask. She has never been to such parties before, and she didn't want to embarrass Jake by looking out of place either. 

Jake could sense the tension in her voice and he sighed. She was thinking too much.

"You don't have to worry yourself too much. Even if you're dressed in a burlap sack, you'll still look the prettiest and outshine all the ladies tomorrow" He told her.

His words made her heart swell. Who said it wasn't good to date a guy that knew his way with words. At least he'll know how to cheer you up and make you happy without much effort. The only problem would be if he spoke to other ladies like this. A frown formed on her face when she thought about that. She didn't want to share his sweet words any other girl.

"Jade?" He called again when she became quiet.

"You're only going to say these kind of things to me right?" Jade couldn't help herself.

Jake paused for a while to understand the full meaning of her questioning. He laughed out when he realized what she meant.

"It's only our first day, no make that night and you're already becoming possessive?" He asked amusedly.

"I'm not being possessive" Jade gruffed.

"Whatever. I like it. And believe me it's only for you" He confidently said, making her frown disappear.

"Okay" She replied softly.

"I'll let you sleep now okay. Good night" 

"Good night" Jade responded. 

"Sweet dreams" Jake said before ending the call.

Jade happily drew her quilt over her head.. Of course she was going to have good dreams.
