Amy stood still as she watched the man standing feets away from her approach her. She was stunned by how handsomely beautiful he looked. Her heart began to race as he closed in on her. His sapphire blue lapel handmade suit made him look extremely handsome, his dark brown hair was sleek and neatly combed back.
Her eyes trailed him from head to toes, and she must admit that the man looked perfect. This was the problem about him, he always had one hell of an effect on her. Could she ever get him out of her mind and heart? The answer was no! Blake Beau had made himself unforgettable in her heart. Seeing him right now looking princely, she had the urge to tell him how much she still likes him, despite the fact that she had been rejected by him.
Blake on the other hand could not stop himself from appreciating how gorgeous she looked in her black gown. Her face was perfectly made up, giving her an innocent and natural look. She looked more than pretty at the moment. He approached her with a radiant smile etched on his face, revealing his cute dimples.
"Hey beautiful" He greeted with that same smile which made Amy go weak on her knees. Those dimples were calling her to touch them. God! how she wanted to do that.
'Amy compose yourself, he's broken your heart before' She chided herself in her head.
"Hey" She greeted back with a small smile.
"Wow, I must say you look, beautiful" Blake said, his eyes trailing her from head to toe.
Gripping her clutch a little tighter she said, "Thank you" A shy smile splitting her face. "And you look good yourself" She added.
"But definitely not like you" Blake replied. "But why are you here?" He asked, making Amy shoot a confused look at him. Wasn't it obvious she was here for the party?
"I mean why are you here, when you're supposed to be recuperating. Amy you're supposed to be at home resting and not attending some party" Blake explained when he saw the confused look on her face.
"Are you scolding me right now?" Amy couldn't help but ask.
"If that's how you see it, then I am" He replied with a shrug, his tone was quite commanding making Amy frown.
"So where should I be if not here?" She didn't understand why he was suddenly scolding her for coming to a party. And she didn't know why his tone and words were upsetting her.
"At home for Christ sake" He snapped. He had been feeling quite sad for her since he heard she was sick a few days ago, and just when she was supposed to be recuperating at home she was here.
"Well for someone who rejected my feelings, you sure worry too much" She said in an angry tone. Who the hell does he think he is to talk to her like she was some child? How dare he even try to scold her for coming out?
Blake felt like cold water has been poured on him when she said those words. He didn't know what he should feel at the moment, neither did he know what to say after this.
Amy also felt embarrassed for saying that to him. She shouldn't have said that. It wasn't his fault that he didn't like her the same way she liked him, and thus she wasn't supposed to get angry at him. She should have handled her emotions well. She was embarrassed with herself for acting childish.
Amy was about to walk away from Blake, because she was overly embarrassed by her stupid act, but just then Blake held her arm. "I'm sorry Amy. I truly am" He apologized in a slow and gentle tone.
"I'm sorry for hurting your feelings, I didn't mean to, it's just that.."
"You don't feel the same way for me too, I get it. And I'm sorry for lashing out at you. If it's anything I'm grateful you're looking out for me. I'm sorry"
"It's okay. Maybe..."
"Hey baby girl, everything okay?" Ethan asked as he snaked his hand around Amy's waist, and his eyes focused on Blake. He could swear he had seen him before. He narrowed his eyes at him as he tried to remember where he must have seen him.
Amy was surprised when he suddenly returned.
"Yeah, everything is fine" Amy replied. "Why have you returned so soon? I thought Jacob was showing around to some business associates?" Amy curiously inquired.
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean I can't keep an eye on you" He replied her before returning his attention back to Blake who was staring at them. Blake recognized him as the guy who had come to take her out back at the office. Was something going on between them? He looked at his hand leisurely placed on Amy's waist and she seemed comfortable with it. There was something about this possessive gesture that made him uncomfortable.
"Ah I see it's your boss" He said when he finally recognized him. Ethan had hurried over to Amy when he noticed the tension between herself and Blake. He didn't recognize him as her boss at the time.
"Nice to meet you again" Ethan said stretching his hand for a hand shake.
"Yeah, same here" Blake replied as he shook his hand, his eyes not leaving Ethan's hold on Amy's waist.
"Hope you don't mind but we'll have to run along now. The party's about start" Ethan said with an apologectic smile. He could tell the atmosphere between the two was awkward, so he opted to save his friend.
"Sure" He looked at Amy. "I guess I'll see you around" He said.
"Sure" Amy nodded awkwardly. She watched Blake from over her shoulders as they walked away. There was something about Blake's stare that made her quite uncomfortable, but she didn't know what.
"Amy you're not flirting with your boss are you?" Ethan asked as they walked away.
"No I'm not. I'm just trying to forget him" Forget my feelings for him and the fact that he doesn't like me. She didn't say those one's out.
Ethan couldn't exactly tell what was going on between Amy and her boss, but he had a feeling that Amy liked him.
Ethan awkwardly cleared his throat as they headed back to where Jacob was waiting for them.
"Has there been any lead on Micheal's issue?" Ethan asked. Amy lowered her head when she heard him. She bit her lips in embarrassment, as she slowly nodded her head affirmatively.
"Really?" He asked in a surprised tone, while Amy nodded again. "Yes" she answered.
"So what's happening? Where is he? Is he okay?" He curiously inquired.
"You can't tell anyone if I tell you. We're still working on it" Amy told him.
"Of course I won't tell anyone. I was the one who told you remember?" Ethan replied.
"Yeah. Well the truth is Michael is in Jail" Amy said in a small tone.
"He is?" Ethan was shocked. He didn't expect Micheal to be in Jail. "What did he do?" He inquisitively inquired. He didn't think Michael was such a person who'd end up in Jail. The guy was such a good kid back then, and he looked promising too, so what changed?
"What happened?" Ethan asked when he noticed Amy's hesitation. "Oh my, don't tell me your mother did that to him?!" Ethan abruptly paused on his strides. He had a feeling that was the case. He was dumbfounded Amy's mother could do something like that. That was mean!
"She did didn't she?" He asked before bellowing out a scornful laugh.
"Your mother is the queen of all evil and vicious women. I'm sorry Amy, but your mother is Wicked" He snapped, slightly raising his voice.
"Lower your voice you're shouting" Amy told him in a low tone when she observed Ethan's outburst had gotten them a few stares. Ethan reduced his voice when he saw people staring at him, "Your mother is evil" He said again.
"You've said that before" Amy said rolling her eyes at him.
"So what are you going to do now? How do you intend of getting him out of there?" Ethan asked.
"I don't know, but my dad is working on it, and so is Lair. We're all working on it. I just hope he'll forgive me when he's finally out"
"But what if he isn't there any more? What do you do?" He asked Amy, his gaze on her was intent.
"How do you mean?" Amy curiously asked. She didn't understand him.
"What if he's dead.."
"Stop it you can't say that. I'm sure he isn't" She snapped, with a glare in her eyes.
"I didn't mean to jinx things up, but just so you know people die in prisons for so many reasons, such as depression and stuffs" He shrugged.
"That's not the case for Micheal. I'm very sure he's fine. He has to be" Amy said in a small tone which was hinted with fear. Ethan's word was beginning to sow see of fear in her heart.
"He's fine. Never say that again" Amy said in a convincing tone, not sure she was convincing herself or Ethan.
"I'm sorry for saying that. I won't say it again" He apologized.
"You better don't" Amy warned. She didn't like those words.
"Sure, but I hope you'll get mad or angry if retribution visits your mother. After all what she did was evil. Would you let Michael get the justice that he deserves by allowing your mother face due punishment? Amy I hope you won't prevent her from receiving the punishment she deserves" Ethan said as looked at Amy. Amy didn't understand why he was saying this, but she had to agree that was a question to be considered.
'Would she help Micheal get the justice that he deserves, even it meant hurting her mother?'
That was question only she had to answer.
Keep calm and write something....
