Chapter 220 - Understanding Girlfriend

"Babe meet my grandfather; grandfather, my girlfriend Jade"

Jade also felt like disappearing into thin air when Jake introduced him as his grandfather. She felt embarrassed for not acknowledging his presence when she walked in.

"Ha, so the name is Jade. Beautiful! I love it. Jade and Jake... it's like a match made in heaven" He beamed.

"Good morning sir" Jade greeted politely, with a small smile etched in her lips, as she tried to hide her embarrassed look.

"Morning my dear. You're just as beautiful as I thought you'd be" Grandfather Beau said smilingly. "And call me grandfather" He added.

"Yes si-" She paused and shook her head.

"I mean grandfather" Jade corrected herself, while Grandfather chuckled by cuteness.

Jade's heart was beating hard behind her chest as she stood under the old man's gaze, who was very much smiling sweetly at her.

"What a good girl" He praised.

"I'd love to chat with you, but I'll leave you two for now. Come visit me soon, I'd like to know more about you and if this grandson is being a good boy, okay?" Grandfather Beau said, while Jade nodded, as he turned to look at Jake.

"I like her. So be a good boy or else I might give her away to someone better" He teased, but Jake who didn't see the humor in his words frowned at him. He had only met her and he was threatening to give her away to someone better than him? There was no one better for his Jade than him.

Was he even his grandfather? Jake tried not to glare at him.

"Jade it was nice meeting you. And I'll be expecting you" He chipped.

"Yes grandfather, and it was nice meeting you too" She replied, making him nod happily. He gave them a full and appreciative look before saying, "Then I'll see myself out".

Jade watched as he walked out of the door, his happy smile not leaving his face for a second. It was obvious he was happy to see her, and she felt happy he liked her too.

"I like your grandfather" She said turning to look at the man standing beside her.

"And he likes you too" He said as he tried pulling her into a hug, but Jade was quick to step away from him, making Jake frown.

He knew she was angry and she wasn't

going to make things easy for him.

"Hungry?" She asked placing the bag in her hand on the table. It was at this point that Jake realised that she was holding a bag of takeouts. He just looked at her without saying anything.

"I Know you haven't eaten, so I brought food" She said as she started to unpack the food from the bags. Looking at her, trying to be busy when he knew she badly wanted to scold him, Jake brushed his hand down his face.

He walked closer to her and held her hand, slightly startling her.

"What are you doing?" She asked in surprise, as she let him pull her up.

"Just scold me already. I don't like what you're doing right now"

"Bringing you food?" She asked cocking a brow at him.

"No, being angry at me. Babe don't ignore me, just scold me, I'll take it. I know I deserve it" He said gently rubbing his hand on her arm, his eyes were pleading to be forgiven.

Jade hissed frustratedly, as she locked gaze with him. "I really want to scold you right now, but I can't" She hissed again.

"Why? Because you're so mad at me?" He asked as he took a step closer to her till they were only a breath away.

"Because that would be insensitive of me. I really want to get angry, scold you, yell at you but doing that will be unfair since I know you're passing through alot."

"I'm sorry" He spoke in a soft tone.

"I know you are, and I've anticipated you saying that to me, but baby that's not cool. I know you have a lot going on and you're trying to fix all the problems you're facing right....I mean you have a lot of responsibilities and I might not be of much help, but you shouldn't forget to talk to me. I was worried sick when I couldn't get across to you, I even thought maybe you were sick" She hissed and paused.

"I know it's a thing for men to always try and solve their problems alone without being a burden to others most especially their loved ones, I know that's your biological make up, but you don't go solve your problem and leave the people who love you worried. You gave me alot of heartaches this last two days. You did" She said in a calm yet frustrated tone.

Seeing her talk like that, Jake couldn't help but feel bad for neglecting her. He should have thought about how worried she'd be when she couldn't talk to him.

He raised his right hand to the side of her cheek and he slowly grazed it. "Sweetheart I'm sorry. I should have behaved better, but I didn't and I'm deeply sorry. I promise not to neglect you, not even for a second even if the world is in shackles and crumbling to pieces. I'll learn to place my priorities right" He said softly, making Jade look at him with love struck eyes.

"You promise?" She asked. She didn't want to stress him out and add to his problems. What kind of a girlfriend would she be if she couldn't lessen her man's burden and rather intensified it? She had to be an understanding girlfriend. She understood things from his perspective and just having him promise her that he'd never do this again was enough to make her happy.

"I promise" Jake said, placing a kiss on her forehead as he pulled her into his arms. God! he missed this. He missed holding her like this.

Jade let Jake hold her, she also missed being in his strong arms. Being in Jake's arms felt so warm, comfortable and sweet, all her worries were slowly dissipating and her raging her heart was slowly calming down. She wrapped her head around his waist and buried her head in his chest.

The musk smell emanating from him was so comforting and relaxing, so was his warmth. Jake hugged her even tightly and so did her hold around him.

"I missed you" He said softly against her ears.

"I missed you too, but I'm still angry...but only a tiny little bit" She said faking a sad tone.

"Honey, I'm sorry" He said without pulling away from the hug, he liked being with her like this. "I've been a bad boyfriend—"

"Really bad" She agreed, making Jake's lips curved upward.

"And I probably deserve to be spanked by you" He added.

"And you're so getting it" She said as she smacked his arm lightly.

"Ouch babe, don't be violent" He faked a hurt expression, as he halfly pulled away from the hug.

"I'm not being violent. Do you want to know what violent is?" She asked, shooting him a mock-glare, her lips tilted to the side.

"Absolutely not" He hurriedly replied, as he leaned in and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I know something that can make you less violent" He said with a mischievous smile.

She narrowed her eyes at him when she saw the way he was smiling at her. Nothing good can come out a malicious smile like that, but she let her curiosity get the best of her and asked, "What?"

"This" Was Jake's reply before he lowered his head and slowly claimed her lips with his. He kissed her gently and slowly, savouring the feel and taste of her lips. The last time he missed them was two days ago, but it felt like ages.

With Jade responding to his kiss just as he'd loved her to, he slowly deepened it. The kiss became a passionate and intense with bother parties moaning into each other's mouth. Jade hooked her hand around his neck and lifted herself up so he could have more access to her mouth. Like hell she missed him to.

Has she told us, Jake was a good kisser? Nahhh...she hasn't.

They both continued kissing, exploring each other's mouth till they almost ran out of breathe. Slowly Jake pulled away from her lips. He chuckled when he saw her pout sadly. He was sure she didn't know she was pouting right now.

"I guess you missed my lips more than you missed me" He teased as he brushed his hand through her hair.

"Maybe" She shamelessly replied, making Jake chortle.

"You're just shameless" He said as he lowered his head to peck her lips, which were slightly swollen from their kiss.

"Just with you" She replied.

"I know" He pulled back into his embrace. "I love you babe"

"I love you too, but you still have to eat" She said pulling away from his embrace.

Jake looked at the packs of food on the table, and he nodded his head.

"But only if you'll feed me"
