Blake waited with Amy outside the company till her ride arrived. He kept looking at her without saying a word. He saw the way her eyes lit up the moment Ethan arrived. She had a bright smile on her face when he stepped out of the car, and walked towards them.
"Hey handsome" Amy greeted with a sunny smile.
"Don't even try" Ethan drawled as he approached them. His eyes sending warning darts towards her. He knew her antics very well. The Amy Walker he knew when he was a child has not changed one bit. She'd always use her honey words to entice you and make you forget all about her wrongdoings. He was used to that behavior and he wasn't going to fall for her traps again. Amy gave a cute sad pout when her plan didn't work, but Ethan scoffed at her and ignored her.
He sent her a stink eye before turning towards Blake.
"Good evening, we meet again" Ethan greeted with a small smile, his hand fully stretched for a hand shake, which Blake accepted.
"Yeah we do" Blake replied before breaking the handshake. Would it be wrong if he said he didn't want to bump into this guy anymore, there was this awkward feeling he gets when he was around. His turned towards Amy who was looking at Ethan's face with much intensity.
"Ethan is that a pimple I see on your face?" Amy asked in surprise.
Ethan's hand autonomically went up to his face, as he touched the so called pimple. He wondered how Amy could see it when it wasn't that bright. "Yeah, it is" He sighed.
"You're finally getting matured" Amy giggled making Ethan threateningly tried to smack her head, but she ducked. He turned to Blake who was watching their little exchange with a stoic look on his face.
"I'm sorry, don't mind her. She's always naughty. I'll take her off your hands now" Ethan apologized to Blake who simply nodded.
"I'm not naughty, I'm only telling the truth. Pimple is a sign of maturity, atleast that's what I read" She stubbornly said in her defence. Ethan shook his head and took her bag from her hand before grabbing her hand to gently pull her away.
"Stop pulling me" She scolded him, before turning to Blake who was still staring at them with an inscrutable gaze.
"Good night Blake. We'll work again tomorrow" She said as Ethan continued to pull away, while Blake gave an affirmative nod.
"Stop embarrassing yourself" Ethan told her after they walked away from Blake. Amy glared at him when he said that.
"You're the one embarrassing me. Stop pulling my hand pretty boy" She said as she snapped her hand from him, making Ethan shake his hand. The girl was so clueless.
They walked towards the car and Ethan opened the door for her to step in, which she did.
He gave her her bag and rounded the car to the driver's side. He gave Blake a slight nod before hopping into the car.
Ethan caught Amy ogling at the man who was still strangely staring at them. He joined in looking at him.
"Are you sure he doesn't like you?" Ethan asked breaking into Amy's thought.
"No he doesn't" Came Amy's sad response. She wouldn't lie she had enjoyed every bit of the past hours which they had worked together. Being so close to him in the same room wasn't a thing to do. The musk smell of his perfume was still lingering in her brain. She was almost tempted to ask him if the one she gave him on his birthday was still remaining. She didn't mind hoarding the producer to make more and ship it over tonight, even if it meant she had to pay a fortune. She could always take a loan from her brother or father, most especially Lair who had no valid use for his money.
She hissed when she realized the stupid thought she had in mind.
"Are you sure he doesn't?" Ethan asked, making Amy turn to look at him.
"I'm dead sure. He told me himself" She said in a reassuring and convincing tone. Ethan was not the one who had been rejected in the most nicest way. Blake had been so gentle and nice when rejecting her, almost making her spineless and defenceless. She had wished he had been a little bit rude to her, then she'd had been able to cuss him, probably find a reason to hate him and would have gotten rid of the stupid feelings which she still had for him.
"Well I don't think that's true. He doesn't look like someone who isn't interested in you" Ethan reasoned, making Amy to look at him with suspicious eyes.
"What do you mean?" Amy asked inquisitively.
Ethan shrugged as he turned on the ignition, "I think he likes you" He firmly replied, his response made Amy narrow her eyes at him.
"Why do you think that way?" She was curious. She didn't think there was any sense in what Ethan was saying, but she was still curious to hear it.
He looked ahead as he began to drive. "I think he might like you, but he isn't aware that he does" Amy's brows narrowed even more.
"And how would you know that?" She inquired. She wasn't really buying this Blake liking her stuff, but she couldn't help but ask. She was sure that man doesn't like her.
"Because I'm a guy and I'm –" He paused, making Amy to look at him suspiciously. Ethan glanced at her to see the look she was giving him. He swallowed nervously before looking ahead.
"See I'm just saying. We guys tend to know things like this. I think your man needs a little push" He said.
"Push?" Amy muttered, wondering what he meant by that. Her eyes widened a bit when she realized what he meant.
"You mean, get him jealous?" She asked him and he responded with a casual shrug.
"I think that's what he needs. Sometimes we guys don't realize what we feel about someone untill we begin to feel threatened" He told her.
Amy looked at him for a while before shaking her head. His words were getting to her, but she still didn't see a possibility in what he had said. Blake had been clear about how he felt about her, so she didn't think there was any need for that 'push'.
"I don't that will be necessary. I'm sure he isn't interested in me" She said in a convincing tone, not sure if she was convincing herself or him.
Ethan looked at her and shrugged. "Your choice.. Well if you're not going to do that, then maybe you can give me a chance?" He winked at her.
