"Then what is this?" Jake asked as he slides his tablet in her direction.
"What is that?" Hillary asked suspiciously without reaching for the tab.
"Why don't you check and find out" Jake lolled back no his seat as he waited for her to pick up the tab and look at what he was showing her.
Mr. Andrew looked at Hillary, who in turn was looking at Jake skeptically.
"This had better not be one of those silly pranks of yours," She said as she slowly reached for the tab, but Jake shrugged.
Hillary picked up the tab and Mr. Andrew who was sitting by her left craned his neck to look at what Jake was showing to her. His eyes widened when he saw the glitches on the screen. It was one of the security apps that had signed a contract with them. His eyes gazed up at Jake but the young man seems to be having the time of his life from where he sat.
"What's the meaning of this?" Hillary snapped her head to look at Jake with horror.
"Why are shouting at me? You should be talking to whoever you asked to fix it. Please don't berate me at the moment okay" He replied.
The other shareholders who didn't understand what was going on exchanged looks among themselves in confusion.
Jake sighed when he noticed the confused look on their faces. He sighed and sat upright, his face immediately turned serious and stoic.
"What is going on?" Someone in the room was bold to ask.
"Five days ago Miss Hillary here, had agreed to fix the app and I had offered to give her my seat if she's capable of bearing the burden that comes with it. And we all agreed to get her started on fixing the corrupted software, but here we are still a virus-infected software"
"That's a lie" Hillary roared and stood to her feet.
"You....you did this," She said pointing a finger at him. Her face was grim and her eyes looked murderous.
"Me?" Jake pointed a finger at himself. "Are that fickle Ms. Woods" He called her by her first name.
"When I came here last week and had this whole board breathing down my neck did I point an accusing finger at anyone? When you dared to challenge me for my seat did I ask you if you were responsible for this?" Jake demanded in an angry tone.
Hillary's lips twitched and her palms clenched angrily. She couldn't think of what could have gone wrong at the moment. Just minutes ago the software had just been working fine, she had seen it with her own eyes, so has gone wrong.
She angrily picked her phone and stormed out of the room.
'That animal!' She roared in her mind.
Jake tsked as she walked out of the room, his eyes followed her, but he hid the animosity burning inside of them.
"Patrick" He called, and the man who had been patiently waiting for his boss to give his orders stood up and started sharing the documents his boss had given him before the meeting.
He distributed the documents according to the names written on them. Not everyone body was given the documents, but 60 percent of the people in the room had received them, including Hillary. Hers was waiting for her on the table.
"What is this?" Mr. Andrew was the first to ask when he read the letterhead of the document.
'SHARES TRANSFER'
"CEO Jake, what is this?"
"What's this supposed to mean" They echoed one after the other, making those who had not received and had been curious about it, suddenly let their curiosity go. They had a feeling it was not good at all. How could they have forgotten how ruthless and shrewd Jake could be when he came to the business and the company.
Jake looked at them like they were stupid to ask him such stupid questions.
"That's your ticket out of my company" He interpreted just in case they did not understand what was written on the documents.
Mr. Andrew bursts out a fit of mocking laughter.
"Jake you're delusional. We built this company, you can't make such nonsense demands" He sneered while Jake frowned.
"Yes, I can. You built?" He asked scornfully.
"My grandfather built and the Beaus worked our ass off fed your bank accounts. If you think your money was that important you should have left it in your bank account and see if it would grow as I and my family have fed the lot's of you all through these years. And don't forget you were the one who had gambled your shares with me. Be grateful I'm generous enough to offer an amount for it. You should be appreciating me instead of talking back at me" Jake growled, slamming his hand on the table, startling some of them.
"But this–"
"Sign the damn documents and get out of my company" He roared.
"We won't," Mr. Andrew said, making Jake cock a brow at him. He knew what card the man wanted to play, he wanted to buy time for his crazy partner, so he let him be.
"According to the agreement we had we'll give away our shares only if you're able to fix the software, and unfortunately you have not been able to. So that means this contract will not be sighed by me or any of us here" The man fearlessly declared. Jake couldn't help but chuckle.
"Then, by all means, be my guest, but be rest assured by each minute you delay signing, my offer reduce by 2%," He told them smugly, his eyes fiercely looking at every one of them.
.....
Outside the Conference Room
"What the hell is that idiot?" Hillary demanded over the phone.
"Who are you referring to?" Shirley asked confusedly.
"Ask me one more question, and I assure you your stupid sister will be gang taped and found dead on a river Stark naked. Now, where is that fool!" She growled. Shirley didn't need to be told twice who Hillary was referring to, and she was sure she would carry out her threat if she dared provoke her.
"I-i don't know" Shirley replied in a shaky voice.
"Find him, and tell him to fix that software if he doesn't want to join his stupid brother in the underworld" She threatened, before hanging up.
