Blake drove at high speed his grip over the wheel tightened as he drove towards the Regent Center. He looked at his ringing phone and it was Jake calling. He hissed and tossed the phone to the passenger seat. He wasn't in the mood to talk to him.
What he did wasn't fair at all. He knew what Amy meant to him, yet she was in danger and he hid it from him.
"So you knew didn't you?" He asked Jake angrily.
"You knew she was in danger and you didn't bother to tell me? Is this fair?" He asked even more angrily when Jake didn't answer him.
"Blake he didn't–" Blake raised his hand to stop Mike who was trying to explain on behalf of his brother.
"When you asked for Amy's number didn't you know they were both in danger?"
"I did" Jake lowly replied.
Blake scoffed, "You did and yet you did not tell me? You saved your woman and while mine has a bomb attached to her in God knows where? Tell me how is this fair?!" He snapped at his brother for the first time in his life.
"Blake–"
"Save the explanation it's useless, I'm angry and I don't want to talk to you. I hope sister-in-law gets well soon." He said before walking away.
"Blake" Phil tried to go after him, he had misunderstood things and he wanted to explain things to him.
"Let him be" Jake stopped Phil. He looked at Blake's retreating back as he sat down back.
This was his fault. He messed up.
Blake dialled the number Ethan's agency had sent him. He had earlier called the agency and had asked for his number but they had given him his manager's number instead. He didn't mind, this would do.
"Hello," The man said from the other side of the phone.
"I want to speak to Ethan Hills," Blake said dourly.
"I'm sorry but you can't" The man on the other side of the phone also replied in a cold tone. He didn't appreciate the tone in which the person over the phone was speaking to him.
"Tell him if he isn't on the phone in the next five minutes, I'm going to dig up dirty secrets about him and his face will be on every screen in the country and I'll put him on the search list for the remaining part of the year." Blake threatened before abruptly ending the call. He increased the speed of his car as he raced faster to the auditorium. He was sure Ethan was going to call him, but that would be if the man truly had any dirty secret.
.....
It wasn't up to five minutes when Blake's phone started ringing. It was the same number he had called earlier. Seems the dude really had some secrets to keep.
"Who the hell are you?" Ethan spoke rudely into the phone.
"Amy has been kidnapped and she's in danger. I want access to the security footage of the auditorium, especially the area where she was seated"
Ethan froze when he had heard that. He recognized the voice of the person from the other side of the phone. He has really done it. But why would Amy be in danger? He had promised he wouldn't hurt her right.
"Wait I'll call you back," Ethan said before abruptly ending the call.
He had to call him. He promised not to hurt her. Ethan dialled the number but after several rings, the man didn't pick.
"Jesus!" He exclaimed. What has he done?
He quickly called Blake back, but before he Blake could speak up he said,
"I know who took her."
.....
Walker Mansion
"This is all your fault." James roared at their mother angrily.
"Why are you so evil? Why are you so bent on ruining the lives of your children? Can't you be like other mothers out there? See what your pride have caused us, are you happy now?" He spoke through gritted teeth as he glared at his mother, who was sitting at the dining table in shock. Her hand quavering as she kept watching the video which has been sent to every member of the family.
"I swear I'm never going to forgive you for this till my last breath." He slammed his hand on the table.
A tear rolled down her cheek as she continued watching the video.
Father Walker was on the phone talking to someone. He has been on the phone for the last ten minutes talking to different people, obviously trying to get some help in saving his daughter. Lair was also seated at another end of the sitting room. He was falling apart, a tear rolled down his cheek as he watched the video for the third time.
He was helpless, the whole family was helpless. No one knew what to do, where to find her or where to even start from.
Everyone was still lost to their thoughts when all their phones chimed at the same time.
They hurriedly opened up the text and there was another message from Amy's abductor. It read,
"City Square, 10 pm. Confess your crime or she dies." Attached to it was a video of Amy crying for help as she tried to shake off the ticking thing attached to her waist.
"Amy!" Lair cried out.
His eyes dashed towards their mother with who was still seating. She was supposed to be on her feet, running towards the said address. He strode towards her and stopped in front of her, "Stand up" He said in a very cold voice.
Mrs Walker looked at him with confused eyes, "For what?" Her voice was small and shaky.
Lair looked at her like she was asking a very stupid question. "Are you really asking me that? Didn't you see the message he sent? You're going to the city centre and you're going to confess to your crime right now." He declared.
Vigorously shaking her head, she said, "I won't."
"You won't what?" Lair asked lividly.
"I dare you to say that again!" James threatened. He couldn't believe she dared to refuse to admit to her crimes to save her daughter.
She kept on shaking her head, tears rolling down her cheeks, "I can't, I'll go to jail. I can't." She protested.
"And my daughter, our daughter would die for your selfishness!" Mr Walker roared angrily. This was the first time he was speaking to her since they received that video.
Mrs Walker shook her head when she heard that.
"But what if he harms her even after I confess? Can you guarantee he wouldn't hurt her? That guy is a criminal."
"No mother, you are the criminal here and you created whoever that guy had become. You have two option, walk down that door to the car, or I swear I'll pull you by your hair till we get there.. Your choice."
