"What are you doing?" Jake asked from the door, making the butler jolt in shock making something slipped from his hand which rolled towards Jake's direction. Jake wondered when and how he got back as he looked at the container rolling over.
"Mas...sir Jake" The butler called nervously as he tried to pick up the cup rolling over to Jake but Jake was fast enough to pick it first.
This felt like Deja Vu, Jake thought. Something similar to this had happened before, he was sure of it.
He looked at the container, it was a pill container it looked new, like it has recently been opened but it was halfly filled. His eyes darted towards the mug he had just been stirring.
"Ipecac." Jake muttered out the name written on the container of the pill.
"Sir that belongs to me." The butler said with an apologetic smile as he reached for it.
Jake lifted his eyes to him with his brows cocked. "Is it?" He asked.
"Yes sir." The butler replied while Jake nodded.
"Then that also belongs to you?" Jake asked tilting his head towards the mug. The butler looked at the mug on the counter and hesitantly nodded his head. "Yes sir."
"Then you don't mind drinking it now I suppose," Jake asked him, his gaze on him was ironclad.
"Sir?" The butler blinked his eyes confusedly. He was sure he didn't hear Jake well.
Jake walked passed him and towards the kitchen island. He picked up the cup and stretched it towards the man. "Here, drink it."
The butler was stunned at Jake's demand. What was happening right now? What had happened to Jake? He asked himself. Jake's gaze was fixated on him as he tried to ascertain his every expression. Unlike what he had suspected the man was acting normal, just the way an employee would react when his boss got suspicious of him, but then again he remembered if Kyle was right that this man was truly the one that hypnotised him, then he must be good at psychology and should be able to manipulate him psychologically. But Jake wasn't about to lose to him, if this man was really the culprit and has been plotting with Hillary while he lived here all these years then he wasn't going to let them go. He had to be smart and beat them at their own game.
"Sir why? Did I do something that has made you suspicious of me?" The butler asked in a careful tone.
Jake furrowed his brows and asked, "Suspicious? I'm not suspicious, I'm just curious. Curious to know what this drug might actually do." Jake said handing the cup over to him, but the man still didn't attempt to take it.
"Come on, drink it." Jake pressed.
He tilted his head to look at the cup, "Perhaps is it poisoned?" Jake asked.
"No! it's not." The butler hurriedly replied.
"Then you don't have a problem drinking this." He stretched out his hand again, this time the man slowly reached for it. Jake pulled back his hand a little before saying, "And don't even think of playing games with me by spilling it, because I'll make another cup for you with these same pills!"
So he had seen him add the pills to the cup?! How could he have been so stupid? Well, he wasn't expecting Jake to be in the house, why didn't he see his car parked outside?
Jake stretched out his hand again but as the man was about to take it, Jake withdrew his hand. "You know what let's make this more interesting," Jake said as he placed the cup on the kitchen counter, opened the container of the pills and started adding more pills into the cup, one at a time making the butler watch him with surprised eyes, as he wondered what Jake was up to. Jake added a couple of the pills and paused before staring at the butler who was watching him with careful eyes.
"Let's make things better, why don't you tell me what this drug is, and who you were actually going to give it to because I have a feeling you were about to kill my grandfather, or we can do this the hard way which is, I'll call a doctor here and he/she will tell me what this drug is, and if it's dangerous and I discover you've been feeding this to my grandfather, I promise you I'll feed you the whole cup and you'll either die of its effect or from overdose or maybe both. But that's not the fun part. The fun part is I'll tear you from limb to limb, torture till you'll beg me to kill you and even at that point I won't." Jake paused and let out an eery smile, "So what do you say? The easy way or the hard way. And don't waste my time, I'm impatient right now." He drawled, the smile on his face disappeared and a dark and murderous look covered his face.
The butler gulped when Jake's mood changed, "Sir I don't know what you're talking about." He said while his eyes started to dart around as if he was looking for something which Jake observed but he pretended like he hasn't noticed his action. He must be looking for something to harm him, Jake reasoned to himself. Someone like this wouldn't be an ordinary man especially if he worked for Hillary.
"Hard way it is then," Jake said coldly as he whipped out his phone from his pocket, he dialled a number. "You can tell Marcus to bring his men in. We'll be needing his services after all." He said and immediately hung up the call before looking at the Butler again.
"You still have sixty seconds, I hope you make very good use of it. And if you think you'd kill me and make a run for it, it would be a waste of time because you won't be able to make it out of this building alive. The ball is in your court and I hope you'll choose wisely." Jake told him with a stoic look plastered on his face. In this game, only the smartest and the wittiest can survive.
If this was Hillary's game then this was game over for her, because he'd make sure she never gets to roam around freely after the end of today. He was tired of all the cat and mice chase.. Planting someone in his home, invading their privacy was the last straw.
