From her words and slightly sour look of her face alone, I quickly understood the root of the problem that gave birth to her request. Just like cultivation novels that I read back on the earth were filled with young masters in the initial part of the story, then upon main character finishing his first revenge arc and moving onto the school part of the novel, there was a dire need to introduce a powerful and arrogant opponent, that could serve as a good example of what kind of character traits the main character was free of.
Thankfully, the plot that was written by the God… or rather fate, considering how the system that was supposed to guide me by hand through this world was all bugged out, allowed me to avoid the boring build-up stage, created only to hype up the fight with the antagonists before the inevitable face-slap would happen.
\"Well… It was you who said that…\"
Her response made me recall the fact that the entire trial was most likely spectated by the group of ugly bastards, deriving joy from seeing their disciples and strangers disfiguring each other heads in dire fights. Looking at the state of her robes and the look of innocence that her cute face added to her entire posture, I could only hope that she was fully conscious about the state of her clothes, as well as capable of hiding it from the prying eyes of those who observed the entire event. After all, I never was a big fan of the 'ugly bastard' cancerous tag on the godly sites marked with two H letters.
\"Could you lend me a helping hand then? Or rather, do you happen to have some materials that I could make a simple weapon off? While I entered this place empty-handed, I would love to get my hands on something even close to what this damned sea swallowed upon the crash of my ship!\"
While I put the focus on my words at the weapon, I didn't forget to add some details to the fake story that I was building for myself. Only by repeatedly repeating parts of the story that I came up with before even reaching this city, I could ensure that everyone could believe it without asking any additional questions!
\"Oh, that's true! There is no rule that states the fights should happen without a weapon. What do you need?\"
Bringing her hands to her mouth, she shielded her lips with her fingers in a popular gesture of surprise, only adding bits of the fan service as yet another part of the skin of her chest peeked through the holes of her torn robes, this time gracing me with a part with part saturated with the red a lot more…
\"All I need is a simple staff, few thin strands of springy metal and a resilient sheet. Preferably, made out of magical beast skin. Do you think you could lend me those materials, teacher?\"
\"Ugh… Yeah, I think I have stuff like that.\"
In the end, the resources quickly found their way to my hands, as I finally closed the distance between us, doing my very best to not fall into the trap of her revealed body, focusing my sight either directly on her face, or somewhere completely away.
And this is where I found myself in a pit.
How the heck I was supposed to craft something without revealing my other abilities?
After running my mind through everything that I learned about the people on this island and the first wave of the refugees, enriching it with what this silly teacher of mine already showed me during our fight, I finally came to a conclusion, that while there was some stuff that I could perform, I would be sadly limited to only a very small set of possible modifications.
Taking the shaft as the base of my weapon, I infused the energy into my hands, and using it as some sort of soldering iron, while connecting the springy metal strands to it, one per one-twentieth of the circuit of the shaft.
After finishing this task, I forced the bottom part of the wooden shaft into the ground, and pulled the naked fur of the magical beast on top of those springs, connecting the edge of the fur to the ending points of the thing, metal rods.
At this point, as long as I stabilised the springs in place, this silly weapon of mine could be compared to the ancient umbrellas, that could shield one from the extensive sun rather than the rain. After all, the spring mechanism that would allow me to fold and unfold it was only in my next step!
Despite how tedious it was, I still wasted a lot of my time turning one of the thin rods into a set of small rings, that I then used to create a set of openings, running through the entire circumvention of the shielding part covered in magical beast's skin, before adding some more tubes to connect the outermost part of the opened umbrella to a small, mobile handle locked around the shaft itself.
After some more decorative and usefull touches, my weapon was finally finished.
\"What this even is? It's my first time seeing something like this!\"
Puzzled by this weapon strange appearance, the cute elder stared at it from all sides, even going as far as to walk around this in hopes of finding out the answer herself, yet no matter the fact she saw the entire process of making it, she was still unable to come up with one.
\"This is something created after \"The Village's head avatar\" weapon, called by the old man \"A thousand transformations umbrella\". While it looks silly, you can trust me, I know a few moves with it, that will make for a great humiliating finisher for the fight!\"
