"Let's have a bit more fun, then we will just kill them all."

With the sparks in Eve's eyes still present, I knew that she didn't have nearly enough of the fun. After such a long time spent in the confinement of her mind, it was no wonder that she wanted to live her life to the fullest, with all the emotions of excitement, focus or bloodlust included.

"Okay then, I will swap with you when the stronger monsters will start coming, as to get over with it and go to this damned continent…"

As happy as I was with being able to fulfil at least this kind of small Eve's request, there was no denying that we already spent more time than I initially was willing to in this place. If not for the fact that finally rescuing my fiancee from her lethal injury awoken some of the high tier emotions like compassion and mercy in me, I would simply ditch out this entire village after making sure that every person that could be of use to me, would be safely hidden away in my small world!

"Bart, it seems that Celleria finally arrived."

Appearing out of nowhere as if his body was nothing more than an illusion created in my head, Bonger reported to me before turning his head towards the pile of corpses that was slowly building up beside the entry to the barrier of the corridor.

"Would you mind if I were to…"

Noticing the expression of longing somehow expressed in the simple eyes of his stickman's head, I followed his sight all the way to the small pool of blood with some innards of the fallen monsters flowing in it.

"You want to absorb those corpses or something?"

While initially puzzled, Bonger's nod was all I needed to recall just how I myself could make use of the blood tonic from the fallen beasts… if only I wasn't the one who killed them. After all, every single magical beast had a bit of… magic in its body! And since it was all Eve who killed those, Bonger was unable to absorb this magic in order to turn it into experience points for me!

"Well, you said something about being able to improve yourself, so go and do whatever you want with those corpses."

Shrugging my arms, I peeked behind me to make sure that while I was talking with Bonger, nothing bad happened to the victims that Celleria brought from the city. Only after seeing that they were in a more or less proper state, as far as one could say that about a group that was constantly raped by the power-hungry brutes, I dared to put my eyes back on the lovely sight of my fiancee dancing around the sea of crazed magical beasts with her sword.

Swing, slash, poke, thrust. Those four simple moves should be devoid of any grace or pride with how basic they were, yet as I kept watching the way in which Eve moved around, I couldn't help but notice that in her hands, this simple sword I made for her was capable of reaching levels of dignity that I never imagined to be possible before.

Yet all the beauty of her sword dance aside, the ranks of the low levelled monsters that she was killed without any effort were quickly dwindling, with the new wave of stronger ones approaching quickly. Seeing that it would soon be my time to shine, I was about to call my fiancee out, when I noticed something strange.

At first, it only applied to all the corpses that were lying haphazardly around nearly half of the length of the corridor, despite Eve still blocking its very entrance. Or rather, there was nothing left from that carcasses!

Yet as my eyes followed the trail of the wet ground, now even devoid of any, even smallest, pool of blood, I finally managed to find just what the heck was going on!

"Eve, back out for now!"

With my body suddenly starting to grow hotter and hotter, I knew that the time I had before I would completely lose the control over myself was very limited. Seeing how Bonger now turned from just absorbing all the energy-rich corpses of the magical beasts, I couldn't do anything when he actually moved forward, passed by Eve, completely unbothered by her instinctual swing, and started killing the monsters of his own!

Yet it was the way in which he was doing so that was quite worrying. Banking on the uncorporeal state of his body, he would approach any of the beasts, push its ghostly stick-arm inside its body, before infusing its arm with energy and materialising it right where the beast's heart would normally be!

Unable to defend against this crafty tactics, the monsters were falling one by one, only to be absorbed right into Bonger's sticky body, constantly adding more and more substance to it!

By the time the last monster of the first wave ended up as the nourishment for the avatar of my system, I was barely able to keep my consciousness afloat. Only thanks to Eve realising that something wrong was going on with me and now keeping my head on her thighs as she tried to help me to the best of her ability I was still capable of observing Bongers exploits.

Was it the sign of reaching some kind of breakthrough? But I just did one, and I was still way too far away from reaching the next stage of cultivation!

Yet while I was sure that my body was still too weak to reach for the higher realm, I felt that something was definitely changing in it, causing my consciousness to float away as nothing more but a side effect of all the changes going on.

"Eve…"

Only able to mutter her name, I kept staring into her teary eyes, unable to even hear what she was trying to say through her sobbing. Yet just as worried I was about both my state and potentially leaving her alone in this brutal world, a certain part of me was rising up for the task as if no matter what would happen to me, prolonging my line was the most important target!
