Right at the dawn of the new day, we finished our daily dose of harvesting with Eve before dressing in the best robes we had and going down to the lounge of the hotel. With the auction taking place the day after tomorrow, we had to hurry up to deal with both of the burning matters to guarantee the happiness of both the City Hall and the Neutrals with our cause.

Even if the sect was far more important than the Mayor, I still decided to visit him first. Contrary to the Naturals, I didn't expect any sort of major troubles appearing during the meeting, making it far more suitable as the matter to finish and close before setting off to the troubling place.

As soon as the escort promised by Venna in form of two cultivators around the same level as ours arrived, we departed from the Hotel and travelled through the city streets towards the mansion of the mayor. Being the undisputed leader of the City Hall, there was no point in trying to move the entire body of his elders. Guaranteeing the goodwill of this single person would be far more than enough!

While I already visited the city hall main building before, while we took part in the trial, our guards guided us through the main road, leading to the rich, shopping district located nearby the government area. Surprised at first, they quickly explained that on the normal days where there was no important affairs to take care off, the City mayor preferred to stay in his own mansion in this district, instead of wasting his time away in the grand but uncomfortable lodging of the City Hall.

"We are here to visit mister Jelier, as per recommendation from the Elder Venna."

The moment that we arrived in front of the gate leading to the innards of an insanely grand mansion, I actually doubted whether the guards guided us towards the right place. From my own judgment of this Jelier person, I believed him to be a rather benevolent and caring governor of this place, putting the interest of the entire City in front of his own!

"Please, come in. I will lead you to the lounge."

As soon as the guards spoke their part, the massive gates moved to the inside of the open space surrounding the mansions, granting us the entry towards the inner road leading right into the main entrance of the mansion. Moving past the gate, I managed to notice two powerful cultivators profusely sweating while moving the wings of the gate.

I guess it is really heavy…

Being around the level of the expanding senses, no normal physical task should prove difficult for the cultivator, yet those guards were barely able to move these massive doors! While they managed to do so without any pauses, it was clearly obvious that it wasn't something they liked to do. At this point, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of materials this gate was made of!

"Don't judge him just by the size of this mansion. Not only he wasn't the one to build it, but most of its rooms are also used as a lodging for important guests and traders. There are accounts that the city mayor even used the walls of the mansion during the tragic flood, where demonic beasts overran the city defences and invaded the city itself!"

Probably noticing our wry smiles as we travelled on the paved road, the butler explained the situation a bit. While it attempted to answer some of the questions, it only created a new one. Like, who did build this mansion in the first place and what happened to him?

While I was slightly curious about it, this wasn't the topic that I was going to bring up when I came here for the sake of racking some goodwill of the owner of this place!

Prepared to be held in the waiting room for even up to a few hours, I made sure to arrive as soon as possible to have enough time today to visit the neutrals. That's why when we were invited to the Jelier's private chamber right when we entered the premises of the building, I was quite surprised!

To willingly give up the opportunity to flaunt his position by forcing us to waste our time by waiting… I guess this man really had some good sides to him!

"How can I help you?"

With the guards left behind the doors, we stood in a small room, with only a simple, Mahony desk and the city mayor himself sitting beside it while inspecting some of the papers loosely spread around the entire place.

Even if he wanted to pose as a good father for every city inhabitant, there was no way that he forgot all the troubles that I caused him, forcing his attitude to be a bit icy towards us. While I could ask Eve to go here herself to deal with him, I wanted to calm our relations down with the mayor, forcing me to be the one to hand the sword to him.

"We came here to offer a respectable mayor a small gift from our side. There is no denying that we caused some major headaches for Sir, and this is just a tiny token of our apologies."

Reaching towards the space of my storage ring, I took a few steps back. Pulling out a sword while alone with such an important official bore the risk of being interpreted as an assault attempt! That's why I decided to cover the blade in decorative cloth, before pulling it out and instantly placing it on extended hands.

"I don't want there to be any misunderstandings, so I will have to ask for your forgiveness, but I would prefer to place it on Sir's table, instead of passing it right to your hands. I hope sir won't hold it against me."

Taking a few, insanely slow steps forward, I approached the desk with Eve sticking to the back wall of the room, and laid the sword on the desk, while keeping as big of a distance from the mayor as I could. Only when the handle finally left my hands did I dare to raise my head and look at the Jelier's face.

"This is… Truly a great sword…"

Crafted with the idea of creating two twin and identical sword, Mayor could easily mistake it for the Utopy, but this was formerly Eve's, 'final solution'. Exactly the same as my own previous blade, it was probably one of the greatest weapons that this city saw!

"What kind of favours do you wish to gain by presenting it to me?"

Before formally accepting our gift, Jelier made sure to probe our intentions. Already prepared for this question, I simply answered.

"It's our greatest wish for either the City Lord Himself or someone accredited by such a great person to take part in the upcoming auction carried out by the Heavenly Sword Sect themselves. While it's not a part of the Bakari Auction House and is mainly focused on trading the simple resources in a bulk, I can promise that there will be quite a bit of pleasant surprises!"
