Even if I wanted to hurry up and secure another place for myself, without any idea whether or not I would be able to move the parasitic core, my hands were bound.
After asking the Bonger to find a location where it could teleport me and keep the spell ready at all times, I made sure to heal all of my wounds before bringing the tattered, makeshift bag inside the tower.
Just like I expected, only half of the items that I managed to salvage, was still usable.
Most of the herbs died off with their medicinal properties and energy gone.
While this was an expected outcome, it still pained my heart as I moved to plant them in my private garden. Even after I went out of my way to gather twice the amount of plants that could fit into the first compartment of this folded space, I could fill barely a half of it in the end!
At least most of the ores were still in the perfectly good state. While some of them were simply lost in the spatial rift, those that didn't slip off during the teleportation, were as good as new, as far one could call something millennials old a new thing.
Checking on my pastures in the small world on the first floor didn't end up with disappointment nor any positive surprise. Even with the time-flow difference, it was still far too early for me to expect any growth of my small herd of the magical beasts.
After all the matters connected to the haul from the city were taken care of, I went to the far end of the island. With what I was going to test, it was better to be as far away from my tower as humanly possible.
The way in which I managed to forcefully close the spatial rift inspired me. With no information or any hints on how to facilitate my affinity with the entropy, I had to find my own way of progress, even if it would end up being completely different as compared to what I initially expected!
Sitting down on the barren ground, I extended my hands and focused on a small area in between them. Stabilizing my breath, I waited for my mind to fully calm down, before pulling all the mana from the spot at once!
Even if I knew that my guess how the phantom maintained the spatial rift was… just a guess, I couldn't help but try to use it as a base for my experiments!
Considering that the world's energy was naturally drawn towards the rift, I assumed it worked in the same way the pressure of normal matter did.
My first attempt obviously ended up in complete failure.
No matter how much I was trying to pull the mana away from the spot, my influence was directed into my own body, just as I was trying to regenerate my own mana pool. The only good side thing was the fact that mana in this place was way too sparse to tilt my internal balance.
But how I was supposed to create a complete energetical void if the mana was constantly pouring back into it with me unable to control it? What kind of tools did Bonger use to do it?
Fuck it.
There is no way I would be able to emulate what Bonger did, so instead of bashing my head against the rock by forcefully going through with this idea, I had to find another way to do so.
Think… The mana flows to the places with the lower density of energy. That's exactly how the pressure works! But how can I use it to my advantage?
Even if the energy was working in a way similar to the natural laws of the earth, it didn't mean that I could suddenly apply all the knowledge from my previous world of residence in this one!
Even a Salomon can pour you a cup from an empty container!
Think about it, Bart! No matter what school youths think, modern knowledge was applied to everything you ever saw back on earth! From war, through computers even in something as mundane as painting a wall!
Wait, painting?
Out of nowhere, I recalled the time when my father used a vacuum cleaner with reversed flow of air to spray the paint on our house walls by using some kind of special but simple mount on the paint can!
What was the principle that he jokingly escaped to me back then?
I'm sure it had nothing to do with the paint container, as I remember examining it thoroughly both before and after the act!
That's it!
The container was there only to provide the paint and nothing more!
It was the flow of the air, directed at the wall, that pulled the pain in, despite the container being placed perpendicularly towards the flow!
The moving air has a lower pressure than still air!
That was it!
Suddenly bursting out with laughter, I swiftly applied this discovery into my experiments.
Instead of trying to pull the energy out of space, I created a hollow ball of mana, around a meter wide, and forced it to spin!
Even if some strands of energy were detaching itself from the flow at the beginning under the influence of my own entropy, as the flow grew in speed, the sheer pressure of it was more than enough to keep this from happening.
As I continued to apply more and more energy just for the sake of speeding the rotation of my orb more and more, I started doubting my idea. No matter how fast it got, there wasn't any change to the insides of the sphere!
Suddenly, I saw something beautiful.
It's hard to explain with the words what had happened, as there are no words in the earthy language that could describe such an event!
It was as if the fabric of the universe was torn off, shining with all kinds of colours, ranging from the ones I could see on the colour palette, all the way to the most unimaginable ones, that I have never seen or experienced so far in my life!
As bigger and bigger parts of this fabric was torn away inside my hollow ball, I could finally see what lied beyond the edge of the universe!
Click!
As my mind suddenly went blank, I couldn't help but continue to gaze inside the dark emptiness. Only when something blocked my vision, did I regain control over my own will.
"Blop"
"Don't you fucking dare to do as recklessly again! You are not strong enough to endure the void yet!"
