As I poured the blood from the cup on the fertile ground of my small world, I could clearly feel that something was changing in this place, yet I couldn't clearly discern where did that feeling come from.
Shrugging at the situation, I dropped the cup to the side of the entrance portal to this place, before pushing the doors away.
This by itself was quice peculiar matter. Despite how the world looked just like open grasslands with some hills in the distance and the tower slapped in the very middle of the picture, it was the line from the building to the plain doors that stood in the open that drew the real boundary of this world.
Just like in the games, everything that was beyond the barrier was probably just an image that served the purpose of making this place look bigger. From the short testing I did even before departing for my journey, this barrier wasn't something tangible, but rather a powerful illusion that made me unintentionally change the direction I was walking so that no matter how long did I try to move away from the tower being the centre point of the subdimension, I always ended up only a kilometre away from it!
While I hoped for some sort of notification that the registration of the new people would be successful, when nothing happened even after I waited for a long while, I just ditched the idea and went back to get those men myself.
As I came out through the doors of the tower, I could see a new sort of emotions on the faces of the men a bit over one hundred meters away.
From how they were looking around, clearly noticing the additional buildings around the tower, it became obvious that the hiding spell or whatever was affecting their sight before stopped working.
"Come with me, I guess you can't wait to see how does your new home look like!"
To be honest, if not for the lack of fo the wood or any water source, I would love to live in my own small world myself! With the pioneering spirit raging within my soul, just the idea of starting everything from the scratch and colonising such land sounded extremely appealing!
"What even is this place?"
As we marched towards the doors of the tower, the men were eyeing the deployed defensive turrets with a hint of fear in their eyes, yet they didn't try to slow down the march, probably finally resolving themselves to just go with the flow.
"Let's just say that it's my home. You see, I'm not exactly the person I said back on your island that I am."
Since we were already close to the doors, I cut their questions short and just opened the doors, inviting them in.
From the outside, both the doors and the inside they presented looked just ordinary, as if leading towards the inner part of the tower, yet as I stepped through the threshold, the sight completely changed.
The barren lands of the dusty desert that covered the entire island of mine, turned into a lush grassland, with a few, small peaks lurking around. If one were to take a closer look, it was even possible to locate a small herd of the beasts that I salvaged from the island before its destruction!
After a short moment, I felt a presence behind me. Turning around I saw the three men appearing three, six and nine meters behind me.
But how did this happen? I know that increasing the population of this place could lead to its increased size, but I never expected it to be so precise and instant!
"How do you like it? I know there are some things this place lacks, but as long as I get enough people here, I believe I will be able to slowly improve the conditions…"
In order to ask the question, I fully turned around with the intention to observe their reactions as they would answer, but I was met with the silence instead.
Instead of replying, those three men just stood where they arrived and gazed at the beauty of my small world. Their mouths were slightly moving as if they were trying to articulate something, yet no sound came from between their lips.
All of sudden, the oldest one has fallen to his knees, quickly followed by the other two.
"We pay our respects to the master!"
Well, I should have seen that coming. With all the stress they had to shoulder with the uncertainty whether my words would turn out to be true despite how good they sounded, it was no wonder that overwhelmed by the tranquillity of this place that couldn't even compare to the savage wilderness of their homeland, the value of my person who led them here would only skyrocket!
"There is no need for that for now. While I might expect some sort of formalities later on as the number of people here will grow, doing so right now would only lead to wasting our time."
I didn't like the idea of being called a lord, master or sir. Outside of the basic respects that I was used to in the earthy society, all kinds of titles would only annoy me, despite their need in the later stages of developing this subdimension.
If the future citizens of this small world wouldn't be constantly reminded who was in the power, I would worry endlessly about some idiots trying to take this place over, especially if I were to impart them with the knowledge to cultivate or increase their strength by any other means!
"We understand. As for our end of the deal… My name is Gabriel. I used to be a carpenter before taking up the sword in hopes of repelling the aggression of the Overlord on the territory of our tribe. I have a wife and two sons, one of whom was fighting by my side, which makes me unsure whether he survived the battle."
Still on his knees, the oldest man bowed his head as he spoke his heart out.
"Those two were my helpers who picked up the weapons just like me. From what I know, both of them have a wife, but while one has two kid daughters, the other one can only share his life with his unmarried sister. While we can't offer anything for you outside of our undying loyalty and service, we hope that you could bring our beloved to this paradise."
