"You know what? Don't show up in front of me for now..." Pinching the bridge of her nose, Zoey closed her eyes and weakly waved her hand off as she refrained herself from drilling the woman's head. "Go," She muttered yet, the lady employee that was hanging her head low moved in a slow pace. As if she was wondering whether or not Zoey meant her words.
"Go! Don't you want to see the night set?!" Sensing the employee's reluctance, Zoey growled, her eyes were just as sharp as a real dagger.
"Y-yes!" The woman flinched, almost jolting as she snapped and scurried away from Zoey's office.
"Dios mio, Oh my god..." Zoey massaged her temples as another problem occurred.
Zoey sometimes wondered if her people used their brains or stored them in a safe place. She, at her very best, never failed to communicate with them: from production, purchase, customer service, art department and so on, so forth.
Her daily routine would be mostly occupied with unending meetings with her people so that no miscommunication would occur. Even when she was on leave, she would allot time to communicate with them though a bit less.
Therefore, Zoey still could not understand what's wrong with these people? How could they work on another project that was due for two months instead of finishing the one that was due two weeks from now?
"Jeez! Give me patience... patience Zoey... you won't get married if you let your mood down." Zoey murmured, repeating her last remarks to lighten her mood. Surprisingly enough, it was working... a little.
As Zoey calmed herself down before going off to another meeting, whispers and chats outside her office was once again alive.
"Oh Lord, our peaceful days are over... she's truly back." One employee wept, seeing that her colleague departed the boss's office crying.
"How I wish the blessed heaven can bless our boss a love life!" Another one commented. Her tone wasn't any different from the weeping employee.
"Guess this means her search for love failed... miserably. *sigh* I truly wished her good luck back then and even prayed that she'll find her one true love." A guy from the other cubicle heavily sighed as he stared sorry at the project he was working on the computer.
"True... now, all her attention is on us again. Poor Agatha, she's the first one who had the taste of Zoey version 40 degrees celsius."
As they voice out their thoughts, in the end, all they could do was snap their tongue and shake their heads. Well, it was not like their boss was wrong for apprehending their colleague.
After all, the mistake Agatha did affected all of them. Now, they have to work double time to reach the deadline.
Still, what they were more worried about was Zoey being the "grumpy granny" that haven't been laid for a long time. God... she'd kill them all. Therefore, they had to work carefully and efficiently so that Zoey could give them a break.
Just then, the indistinct murmuring paused when they saw a man's figure from the entrance approaching. Somehow, although his feather-like steps were barely audible, his tall figure and well-built physique, plus his imperious demeanor had caught the interest of the office.
They turned their heads and upon laying their eyes on the man's exquisite facial features, women's eyes twinkled in awe while men furrowed their brows.
As if bearing the same thought, they asked inwardly. "Who is this guy?"
"Sir, are you here for designs?" One employee who was bewitched by Matthew Xi's charms glided to his side as she sweetly inquired.
To everyone's knowledge, their office was rarely being visited by clients. After all, their clients didn't need to visit their office because Zoey would go to themherself after a ton of email exchanges.
"Uhm," Glancing at the woman, Matthew Xi cleared his throat. "I'm looking for Miss Zhou." Upon dropping his intention, however, those words were akin to a nuclear bomb.
When he said he was looking for their big boss, the whole office fell into a shocking silence. It was as if they were deafened momentarily.
Mr. handsome guy looking for the big boss? Recalling that their boss was on a conquest for a companion for life, all eyes were on Matthew Xi.
Seeing the variety of gazes on him, Matthew Xi's brows twitched. There was a look of pity, awe, motivating, doubtful, and some bore the "we're all counting on you" type of gaze.
Just what kind of environment did Zoey established in her workplace to have these desperation in their eyes?
"Uh, Boss Zhou!" Just as the meeting room opened from inside, the nearest employee snapped back from his shock. Turning to the exiting Zoey, he called to catch her attention.
"O?" Though she had calmed down a little, Zoey's mood wasn't that pink and roses. She moved her gaze to the source of the voice and saw him pointing at a direction.
Arching her right brow, Zoey slowly followed the direction he was pointing at suggestively. To her surprise, she saw the person she least expected to see until the 13th.
"D-darling?!?" In a flick of a finger, Zoey's mood went from zero to hero real quick, blessing the office with lovely sunshines.
"D-darling?! Boss, congrats!" When they heard Zoey's endearment, none of them question how, why, and who. Instead, the first thing that same up in their minds was to congratulate their big boss... and themselves of course.
Meanwhile, Matthew Xi was rendered speechless at this weird workplace. Surely, everything that was surrounding Zoey were quite weird in their own way.... maybe, he was weird too that's why he couldn't resist her.
