Meanwhile, Matthew Xi noticed that Zoey seemed to behave when he was halfway to the parking space. Arching his brows, he turned to his side but Zoey wasn't there.
Matthew Xi knitted his brows as he looked around but Zoey was nowhere within his vicinity. "Where did she go?" He muttered as he kept looking around but to no avail.
"Tsk," He clicked his tongue as he shoved his hand inside his pocket. Taking out a pink-colored phone, Matthew Xi called Zoey.
Still looking around with his other hand inside his pocket, Matthew Xi's forehead creased as it was only ringing and she wasn't picking up.
When he was redirected to the voice mail, Matthew Xi stared at his 'temporary' phone for several seconds. He didn't fully know Zoey, hence he couldn't tell if it was normal for her not to answer calls.
Thinking that from the time Zoey lent him the phone he was holding, she only sent him three messages a day: morning, afternoon, and night. Therefore, considering that trait of hers, Matthew Xi could assume that she might have seen something while passing by the boutiques.
On the second thought, Zoey wouldn't go on all on her own afraid of that man earlier. "I shouldn't worry about her." Matthew Xi whispered, reminding himself that Zoey was still a stranger to him.
However, deep down, he couldn't shrug about that man's presence. What if he snatched Zoey when he wasn't looking?
'Scratch that.' Matthew Xi shook his head sideways as his imagination suddenly run wild which never happened before. If the man kidnapped Zoey, he would know because Zoey could finally use her loud mouth to good use.
"Tsk, that woman..." Snapping his tongue in annoyance, Matthew Xi returned to the restaurant and check the shops he passed by. Still, he kept on ringing her phone, hoping she would pick up.

"Ha! Haha, I knew it! You were the one earlier — wait, did you just grab a stranger to hide?" A sudden recollection of earlier events flashed across the man's mind.
"Wow... Didn't you have a restraining order to stay 50 meters away from me? You're really something, Z." In utter disbelief, the man scoffed.
"50 meters? Did you also forget you have a restraining order to keep 100 meters away from me? Let me go!" Scrunching her nose up, Zoey's face distorted as she scoffed back in mockery.
"Let you go? Why? Afraid I'd report you...?"
"Sure. Let's see who'll have the last laugh. Obviously, you're the one who broke the restraining order because even before I can approach you, you're already within hundred meters." Rolling her eyes, Zoey reminded him in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Ha!" Scoffing in disbelief, it convinced the man that Zoey was stalking him to give him trouble. "You're really shameless." His eyes piercing, his words laced with deep dislike towards the manipulative and cunning fox hiding beneath a beautiful shell.
"The world doesn't even revolve around you, how the hell do you think you'd even matter in my world?" Zoey smirked, hitting every weak spots without mercy. "Go, file another lawsuit and I'll slap you with ten lawsuits in return." She taunted, perking her chin up in confidence.
"Wow... I really can't believe I fell for someone like you." In utter disbelief, the man scoffed as Zoey's soul was truly rotten. Yet, instead of letting her go, his grip on her wrist tightened as he clenched his teeth.
"Ouch," Alas, Zoey didn't wince but spoke as if it was nothing. Slowly, her free hand wrapped on the hand that was restraining her. "Is this the game you want, Mr. Richard Sun?" Leaning a bit forward, Zoey smirked as a glint flashed across her eyes while her grip on him tightened.
Despite that she's right-handed, her grip on the left made Richard Sun winced as he let her wrist go. However, Zoey didn't let his hand go even though he released her hand.
"Pathetic." As he tried to pull his hand away from her, Zoey mocked under her breath because he was weaker than she thought.
"You..!" Richard Sun ground his teeth as the wrist where she gripped throbbed; blood circulated again upon its released.
"Me? Let me tell you something," Zoey chuckled as she slowly leaned forward and whispered in his ear. "I hid earlier for your sake. Why must you show your pathetic face in front of me and hurt yourself? I don't want to play with you anymore, wasn't that clear enough?" Zoey dawdled, followed by a faint chuckle and sneer on the corner of her lips.
From a distance, Matthew Xi stood upright, staring at Zoey and the man from earlier. However, he had been watching the two from when Zoey was trying to pull her wrist away from him.
Matthew Xi was about to step up for her, but the next moment, another face of Zoey resurfaced. It was not the businesswoman Zoey, nor it was the hilariously desperate for love Zoey.
The Zoey he witnessed, she's different.
Matthew Xi couldn't hear what she said to him and what she whispered in Richard Sun's ear. But Matthew Xi was certain it was a heartless remark that could crush a man's confidence.
'He can gather a group of crazies and worship him for being the epitome of craziness... liar. You hid not because of what he might do, but because of what you might do.' Matthew Xi recalled Zoey's statement when describing the man.. However, upon witnessing what he witnessed, Matthew Xi added before he turned around and left.
