Chapter 47 - What An Interesting Morning

"Huh, were you bribed?" Staring at the two officers that were standing beside the hospital bed, Zoey scoffed.

Currently, police officers were trying to arrest her without a warrant. If she didn't know one or two things about the law, Zoey would abide and would try to clear her name.

However, she knew more than she should. Therefore, no matter how intimidating the situation was, Zoey remained calm.

"Miss Zhou, the warrant you're looking for is still being processed. It is better for you to follow us to the precinct voluntarily." One officer declared, evidently displeased at Zoey's attitude.

"Oh god..." Suddenly, Zoey heaved heavily; it was as if she was having a hard time breathing.

"Miss Zhou —"

"What is going on?" Just then, Zion Kwan intruded the room and assailed everyone's ear. His gaze shifted from the officers inside and then to Zoey, who seemed to have a panic attack.

Without wasting a second, Zion Kwan rushed towards Zoey. He checked her pulse, her vitals and the monitoring machine that was showing abnormal variables.

At first, the officers thought that Zoey was just acting. However, with the evidence in front of them and how Zion Kwan — the attending doctor — acted frantically, they have to step out of the room.

Soon, nurses also rushed inside the room to tend to the patients and assist the doctor. The officers waited outside, letting the medical professionals to tend to Zoey.

"Contact Madam Sun and tell her about what happened." One officer leaned forward to the other and commanded. Upon hearing the order, the officer nodded his head and left to inform the person behind them.

Meanwhile, when the officers went out, and the nurses rushed inside, Zion Kwan stopped checking Zoey as he stood on the side of the bed. "They're gone." He said.

"Hah, I knew that freak will do something grand today. Did he think I am unprepared?" Although the monitoring device still showed abnormalities, Zoey seemed to be fine.

The nurses inside looked at one another in confusion. Yet, none of them talked and let the medical director, Zion Kwan, talked to the patient.

"I'll talk to them — stay here." Staring at Zoey's triumphant expression, Zion Kwan sighed as he glanced at the nurses inside. "The patient had a panic attack, and she's fine now." In a matter-of-fact tone, Zion Kwan informed which caused the nurses to nod in understanding.

None of them dared to question the doctor, nor did they have any weird thoughts about it. After all, Zion Kwan must have his reasons for doing this for the patient's sake. Moreover, none of the medical professionals were pleased at how the officers acted since earlier.

"Doctor Kwan, it's fine. They couldn't force me to come with them without warrant." Zoey meekly smiled, staring at Zion Kwan's pair of orbs.

Zion Kwan gestured the nurses to leave, "Don't let anyone in at the moment. I do not allow the patient to receive visitors." He noted as the nurses leaves.

"Yes, Doctor Kwan." Upon receiving the doctor's notes, the nurses bowed their heads courteously before departing the room. As ordered, the nurses informed the officers about Zoey's condition as if she was in a critical state.

When the door closed, Zion turned to Zoey, and a glint flickered across his eyes. "Who is it that's causing this?" He asked.

Earlier, Zion Kwan didn't dwell on Zoey's business when she asked for a favor. After all, Zoey would often fight with anyone no matter how petty it was.

However, this was the first time that used this kind of means. Therefore, Zion Kwan knew that the 'freak' she mentioned many time was a big person.

"Richard "Mama's boy" Sun."

"Z..." Zion Kwan's words trailed off when Zoey interrupted just as he spoke.

"No, it's fine. You've already done a lot for me. I can't drag you further. Also, this is better..." The corner of Zoey's lips slowly curled into a smirk. "Let them occupy themselves on how to get me behind bars so they wouldn't notice I am coming to get them from behind." A glint flashed across Zoey's eyes, making Zion Kwan to sigh and shake his head sideways.

Meanwhile...

"Young master, the Sun Corporation representatives were already waiting for you inside." Paul Qian informed Matthew Xi as he headed towards the conference where he would have a meeting with the said Corporation.

As usual, Matthew Xi had no comment as he drew closer towards the room. Soon, Paul Qian opened the door for him, revealing the spacious room being occupied by a few men and women in suits.

Matthew Xi's gaze scanned the four people inside. However, his gaze stopped on a familiar face he had seen yesterday: Richard Sun!

"What an interesting morning," He murmured, as the side of his lips curled into an amused smirk and resumed on his tracks.

Paul Qian knitted his brows as he was the only person who heard Matthew Xi's statements. However, he had been serving Matthew Xi for years. Hence, Paul Qian felt restless by Matthew Xi's tone.

'Did anyone inside offended young master?!?'
