Chapter 54 - A Terrible Idea

"Attorney, file as many complaints to that guy — not just sexual harassment and battery." Staring at the middle-aged lawyer, a glint flickered across her pair of eyes.

"Miss Zhou, even if we file as many lawsuits against Mr. Richard Sun, you were only wasting your resources and energy because the judge will only dump them. Moreover, Mr. Richard Sun sued you regarding the restraining order. We have to focus on the case at the moment before an appeal." Sounding stern but with a touch of helplessness, the lawyer advised.

He had been serving Zoey for several years. He wasn't a known lawyer and his own firm was struggling back in the day. However, ever since this young lady came in his office, his firm recovered from those tough times.

After all, Zoey often battled lawsuits and because she has no legal team, one could consider them her own legal team. After all, they mostly do the Z Image Group's contracts and anything that needs legal advice and services.

"Attorney Chan, do you know some officers were forcing me to come at the precinct earlier? If I'm not prepared, do you know the humiliation of being arrested inside my own office as if I'm a fugitive?" Unlike her languid and easy-going attitude she has towards Matthew Xi and Enzo Li, Zoey had a complete change of demeanor.

Before the lawyer, Zoey finally showed emotions she felt earlier. She was enraged; fuming mad at Richard Sun. She wanted him to go down with a stained name.

Hence, although Zoey knew that filing as many lawsuits as she could wasn't enough, she was willing to do so. In that case, Zoey could stall more time and cause more trouble towards the latter. Having sued Richard Sun with a sexual harassment and many others would surely bring a whole lot of chaos towards the entire Sun Corporation.

What Zoey aimed for was to reveal Richard Sun's true nature and ruin his reputation. Indeed, Zoey wasn't someone who was forgiving. No matter how huge the Sun Corporation was, she would fight head-on.

"*sigh*" Attorney Chan stared at Zoey's adamant front before a sigh slipped from his lips. "Alright. Expect a summon from the court tomorrow, though." Attorney Chan nodded his head before he began arranging his documents.

"These were your copies. I'll be sending the additional documents via email. Please study them tonight, Miss Zhou." Handing out a pile of documents to Zoey, Attorney Chan noted before he stood from his seat and bowed his head.

"Thank you, Attorney Chan." Meekly smiling, Zoey slightly bowed her head and watched the man depart the hospital room.

As soon as Attorney Chan left the room, his eyes caught the eye-catching figure standing near the room. Unconsciously, Attorney Chan looked at Matthew Xi from head to toe.

For some reason, Attorney Chan felt intimidated. The air surrounding the man was too overwhelming, making his presence noticeable even from a distance.

"You are...?" Matthew Xi inquired. Just like Attorney Chan, Matthew Xi peered at the middle-aged man from head to toe.

By the looks of it, with his briefcase and Attorney Chan's stance, Matthew Xi had guessed the man's profession. Still, Matthew Xi still inquired.

"Huh?" That out of the blue question drew a question mark in the lawyer's thought bubble.

"Nevermind." Blinking once, Matthew Xi turned his back against the lawyer and left.

Of course, Matthew Xi left a tremendous impact on the lawyer. Who was he? Why was he asking such a question out of nowhere? And why does he appear that something displeased him?

Regardless, Attorney Chan didn't dwell on it further. After all, he needed to finish what needs to be done. Hence, shrugging the thoughts off, the lawyer went on his way.

As Matthew Xi walked out on the corridor, he slipped his hand inside his suit pocket for his phone. He recalled that Zoey told him something about people trying to harm her.

'She should have...' Matthew Xi thoughts trailed off. He wanted to blame Zoey for sounding playful and cheerful, the reason he didn't take her words seriously. But after his brief encounter with the lawyer, Matthew Xi perceived that Zoey's situation was more serious than he expected.

She should have told him.

However, if he was in the same situation, would he tell her too? Obviously, he wouldn't. After all, if Matthew Xi was in the same situation, Matthew Xi preferred to deal with his own problems alone.

Maybe a moral support would be nice, but that's all. He disliked people dragging others in their mess.

Just as Matthew Xi was gravitating whether or not he should call Zoey, he caught a familiar figure ahead. Slowly, Matthew Xi lifted his gaze and his russet eyes met the seemingly awkward Enzo Li.

"Big brother Matt!" Awkwardly smiling, Enzo Li raised his hand and waved it. Matthew Xi caught him. Hence Enzo Li has to greet him. Enzo Li jogged and approach him. However, as soon as Enzo Li took a step closer, he immediately stepped back by the powerful aura emanating from Matthew Xi.

'Damn it! I know this is a terrible idea!' Enzo Li grumbled internally, regretting that he ended up approaching his second cousin.

"What are you doing here?" Cold and emotionless, Matthew Xi asked. Obviously, he guessed the answer but wanted to confirm it still.

"Hehe. Someone I know is a patient here." As soon as these words came out from his mouth, Enzo Li gulped down. Beads of sweats formed on his forehead and back as Matthew Xi's aura grew stronger.

'This is really an awful idea.... oh good lord!'
