"Pfft—!" Seeing the funny transition of Enzo Li's expression, Zoey chuckled.
"I hate you." Sounding as flat as possible, Enzo Li spat as he peered at her in disdain.
"Kidding. Go, if you want." In between her chuckles, Zoey magnanimously offered. "Then our friendship will also go — friends over." Teasing him a bit more, Zoey added.
"I don't remember being your friend." Disgusted at Zoey's teasing, Enzo Li spat back. "Important my *ss! Ah! My blood pressure!" Without further ado, Enzo Li jolted from his seat and took his stuff.
By the looks of it, Enzo Li was leaving her. Why wouldn't he? Talking with Zoey might lead him to be admitted tonight in this hospital due to high blood pressure. He would rather attend the event that would make him happy.
"Hahaha!" Pleased at her own jokes, Zoey chuckled. She didn't mind the disdainful glare from Enzo Li before he left as she shook her head sideways.
"He's like a kid." Zoey murmured as she faintly chuckled.
Just then, Zion Kwan knocked on the door before entering the room. "Why do you always tease that guy?" Zion Kwan asked, walking to the desk and boiled water via the electric kettle. He bumped into the fuming Enzo Li on the way. Hence, Zion Kwan figured what happened.
"He's so fun to tease, of course." Zoey answered, recomposing herself, and scanned the documents on the bed again.
"You can always say what you want to say like a normal person." Slowly, Zion Kwan perched on the sofa not far away from Zoey's bed. "You always complicate things by angering people to let them leave with clear conscience." He added, glancing at the complicated Zoey.
"Hehe, he won't leave if I didn't tease him." Smiling, Zoey glanced back at Zion Kwan. "You know I hate it when people hold themselves back for the things they want for me."
"Won't you invite your boyfriend over?" Zion Kwan shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly and asked.
"Uhm, I'll spare him the trouble."
"Are you sure your boyfriend is an actual person? Not a virtual boyfriend?" Zion Kwan humored, scanning the medical reports of Zoey.
"Duh? I'm not delusional — you can see in my medical records." Rolling her eyes, Zoey replied. "Also, I think I annoyed him too much for the day so I'm letting him cool his head down." Recalling how she got his approval of inviting Enzo Li over, Zoey sighed.
Matthew Xi seemed he was busy earlier, yet she was too inconsiderate. Now that everything was said and done, Zoey somehow reflected on her actions earlier. She should have refrained herself from being as carefree as usual.
"Well, I guess I won't go home tonight then." Nodding his head, Zion Kwan didn't leave his eyes on the papers in his hand as he uttered.
"You're the best!" Turning to the ever indifferent Zion Kwan, Zoey smiled brightly and gave him a thumbs up.
"Just tonight," He remarked.
"I'll only stay here tonight — hospital makes me sick."
"But you stayed at the hospital when your boyfriend was injured." Knowing most of the story from Cora Ma, Zion Kwan said bluntly.
"Because he had no one. You know I have soft spots for the weak and neglected." Not surprised that Zion Kwan was updated about her love life, Zoey patted her chest lightly.
"You mean a soft spot for good-looking men." Zion Kwan would never buy that lie. He knew Zoey more than anyone in her circle. Hence, what she was saying was nothing but utter crap.
Zoey wouldn't care about anyone but herself. She's the epitome of selfishness... at least, she's like this now. Unlike in the past, Zion Kwan would surely believe her words if the old Zoey was spouting these words.
"Hehe, you know me well — I'm still surprised I don't hate you." Chuckling, Zoey humored, which made Zion Kwan shake his head sideways.
"Tea or coffee?" Seeing that the electric kettle was done boiling the water, Zion Kwan asked as he stood from his seat.
"My boyfriend."
"Coffee it is." Zion Kwan ignored Zoey's out of topic answer and decided on his own. Knowing Zoey, she preferred coffee over anything — talk about a coffee addict.
"Just tonight though. Too much caffeine is not good." Zion Kwan added, knowing full well that she wouldn't listen to him.
"Yes, yes. Thank you.." Nodding, Zoey half-heartedly agreed.
