Chapter 175 - You And Me — We

'What the f*ck is going on...?' Zoey asked herself as she watched Vivian Xi help her select tea cups.

Just like Zoey questioned inside her mind, Olivia Tang and Clara Wei had the same inquiry. What was going on?

"Miss Zhou, I know a master who creates art and not just tea cups. However, these were good grades too. So for now, I recommend these — we can meet my friend next time and we can choose in his studio." After checking the cups in her hand, Vivian Xi faced Zoey who was just standing watching her.

Seeing the complicated visage plastered across her face, Vivian Xi smiled. "We'll visit him next time, right?"

"We...?" Utterly confused at how friendly Vivian Xi was, Zoey could not help but nitpick on things.

If not for a fact that the lady before her was someone influential and powerful, Zoey wouldn't feel awkward. However, with Vivian Xi's current standing, it made things suspicious.

"Yes, Miss Zhou. You and me — we." Nodding her head, Vivian Xi tilted her head to the side slightly. "So?" Raising her brows, Vivian Xi sought for an immediate answer.

"Of course," Shrugging her suspicions to the back of her mind, Zoey smiled as she agreed.

"Great! Are these the only things you need? I can help with other purchases for your house." Since these were the last kitchen utensils on Zoey's list, Vivian Xi meekly inquired while her eyes hinted that they should shop more.

"Uhm..." Gulping a mouthful of saliva, Zoey pursed her lips into a thin line. She stared at the expectant and sparkling eyes of Vivian Xi, causing her to feel sorry to say no.

In Zoey's eyes, Vivian Xi looked like she wanted to shop more. Little did Zoey know, the gleam in Vivian Xi's eyes weren't because she wanted to shop, but to spend more time with her.

"I think I need to buy curtains." Without even thinking, Zoey uttered a material she didn't need.

Curtains?! Oh dear, I don't think there are great curtains in the place but we can look. Come!" Clasping her hands together, Vivian Xi excitedly remarked before dragging Zoey to the curtains section.

If not for the fact that this encounter with Zoey was purely coincidental, Vivian Xi would have dragged her overseas for buying household stuff. She would have booked a ticket for the two of them and hogged Zoey all for herself.

Alas, her son might call for an emergency meeting if Zoey disappeared with her without a word. Hence, Vivian Xi was already thankful that she got an opportunity to get to know Zoey.

'Where's Browny when I need him?' As she watched herself being dragged by this madam, Zoey wondered in distress as she knew Matthew Xi would help her excuse herself.

Meanwhile, Olivia Tang and Clara Wei perched on the waiting area as they watched Vivian Xi drag Zoey around like an excited teen.

"That b*tch...!" Grinding her teeth, Olivia Tang hissed.

"Mother..." Sharing the same dismay, Clara Wei bit her lower lips. Glancing at Zoey and Vivian Xi, a glint flashed across her eyes.

Vivian Xi didn't even bat an eye on her and completely ignored her. Why? Olivia Tang purposely asked Clara Wei and Ezekiel Tang to come in here because her mother-in-law would bring Vivian Xi.

The plan was to impress the chairwoman of the XI Corporation. Alas, Vivian Xi didn't even give them a chance since Zoey hogged her all for herself.

"Huh! It's okay, Clara. That's Madam Xi, we don't know what she has in mind." As Olivia Tang watched the two, she sneered. "Who knows, this might be a strategy before teaching that wench a lesson." With that thought in mind, Olivia Tang's dissatisfaction slightly dissipated.

She had a point, though. With a temperamental woman like Vivian Xi, who knows when she would snap and turn her back against Zoey? After all, Olivia Tang was confident she planted 'Zoey's identity theft's scheme' of stealing her son's name to Vivian Xi.

"Yes, mother. I'm sure Madam Xi wouldn't be that friendly for no reason." Nodding her head in understanding, a sigh of relief slipped past Clara Wei's lips as her delicate smile resurfaced.

"There will be more occasions where I can properly introduce myself." Clara Wei added, thinking that she could charm a few young misses of the Xi Family.

Just thinking about being friends with those most elite women, it brought joy in Clara Wei's heart. After all, with all the other rising stars in the entertainment industry, Clara Wei's popularity waned.

If not because of Tang's backing, she would have had to retire. But if she was able to impress Vivian Xi, the woman might introduce her to her nieces.

Perhaps, Vivian Xi would even recommend her to Ruby Xi; a CEO of her own talent agency who handled her other cousins, Iris Xu and Enzo Li. After all, Ruby Xi's talent agency had topped all agencies in the industry.

Olivia Tang casted Clara Wei's smiling face a glance. 'What an ambitious woman...' she scoffed internally as she could read Clara Wei's daydream easily.

"Clara, you have to be aggressive sometimes not to miss the opportunity. Look at that woman, whether Madam Xi had her own agenda or not, the point here is you let a chance to grab her attention slip." Arching her brow, Olivia Tang pointed out as Clara Wei tended to act so delicate and timid despite how scheming she was inside. "No wonder you could never satisfy my son." Olivia Tang clicked her tongue as she bluntly mentioned this hurtful fact.

Upon hearing her mother-in-law's last remarks, Clara Wei's hand trembled as her lips paled. All happy thoughts earlier instantly vanished as she felt an angst struck her heart.

Glancing at the trembling Clara Wei, Olivia Tang rolled her eyes. "My dear Clara, in this modern time, acting delicate and meek will take you nowhere. Look at that woman, she lacks tact and class, but my son still invited her to his own engagement party." In a matter-of-fact tone, Olivia Tang hinted as she raised her right brow. "Just her attendance in your engagement party, you'll know she's the type of person who wouldn't let an opportunity slip — by hook or by crook.." Olivia Tang hinted as she picked up a cup of tea which was served to her as she glanced at Clara Wei before a smirk formed on the side of her lips.
