"Wow... these look so gorgeous." Admiring the displayed gowns, Zoey's eyes twinkled as they were indeed pretty and she was tempted to try some.
"Sis, what kind of gown do you prefer? Will it be a custom made? Though I think this one is pretty." Fawning around the dress worn by the mannequin, Zoey's eyes formed into a heart shape as she envisioned Cora Ma wearing it while walking down the aisle.
Not just that, but imagining Zion Kwan's reaction, he might worship Zoey's godly being for bringing in an angel. Having those thoughts in mind, Zoey felt giddy as she slowly raised her itching hands to the mannequin. However, her hands stopped midway upon hearing some insect buzzing.
"Oh, Miss Zhou! Are you trying to touch it?" One of Clara Wei's lackeys, Abi, gasped in disbelief, catching the attention of a few clients and staff around.
"Uhm, so?" Arching her brows, Zoey cocked her head to the side as she was confused about what this lady was buzzing about.
"Miss Zhou, you might be able to afford that dress if you sell half of your properties, but that is not for sale! It's just on display to showcase Patrizio's new masterpiece!" Abi harrumphed, scoffing as she darted her disgusted gaze from Cora Ma to Zoey.
"Ahh..." Nodding her head in understanding, Zoey slowly shifted her eyes back on the dress as she studied its details thoroughly.
"It's good that you understand. After all, you manage to come inside because of Sister Lala. If you ever break anything, she'll be the first to be humiliated!" Exhaling a sharp breath, Abi perked her chin up as she crossed her arms on her upper abdomen.
Based on her observation, Zoey was akin to a pushover. They had been provoking her earlier, as Clara Wei had told them stories how Zoey did this and that in the past. Therefore, Abi took this chance to give justice to Clara Wei.
However, although Zoey wasn't triggered, it also made it hard to bully her. Hence, Abi would only look like she's picking on her if she continues.
The reason she had been keeping an eye on Zoey was so she could humiliate her if there's a chance. Still, with her being like this, Abi might have the outcome she wanted.
"Sis, why don't we try this?" After her thorough observation, Zoey's eyes lit up as it was indeed unlike the other dress the designer made. It was just perfect! Thus, Zoey's excitement escalated as she turned to Cora Ma.
"Uhm, Zoey? It's not for sale." Raising her brows, Cora Ma muttered through her gritted teeth along with her awkward chuckle.
"It's fine, it will be later." Not even discouraged, Zoey flashed her friend a reassuring smile with a wink.
"Miss!" With that being said, Zoey called one staff that was just standing on the corner like an observant.
Seeing how Zoey didn't take her words and even said Patrizio's masterpiece would be available later, Abi scoffed in dismay. "Hah! Miss Zhou, are you that shameless? How can this dress be available later? Don't tell me because you say so, because if the designer himself is willing to sell it, all elite misses in the country have already placed their bid! So shameless!"
Gazing Zoey's simple figure from her to toe, Abi felt more insulted by Zoey's nerve. Not that she cared whether Zoey would humiliate herself later.
What irked her the most was how Zoey delivered her words. She sounded so confident, as if she was certain she'll get it. Yet, she didn't even consider that she wouldn't even enter this place without Clara Wei's help!
'How did she guess that my answer is 'because I say so?' Zoey wondered, her face slightly distorted as she could not understand why Abi was so triggered.
After all, Zoey wouldn't put the tabs on her if she damaged anything inside the premises. Making money was her only talent, hence she wouldn't mind paying for the damages if there's any.
"Miss, will you mind your own business, please?" Finally, Cora Ma's face turned solemn as she had been enduring this woman since earlier.
They let them say whatever they want, however, wasn't what she's doing going overboard? She had been keeping an eye on them and was ready to attack at the tip of the hat.
Also, doesn't Abi know that the more agitated she was at what Zoey's doing, the more Zoey would do it? The more they pay attention to Zoey, the more Zoey would be enthusiastic to entertain them.
"Wow! Are you two ganging up on me?!" Upon hearing 'Zoey's lackey' finally breaking her silence, Abi gasped in disbelief, with her hand on her chest while taking a few steps back.
When Cora Ma heard that nonsense accusation, her eyes widened as she unconsciously turned to Zoey's side profile. Yet, Zoey's eyes didn't bear surprise like her; they were rather amused at how things unfolded before her.
Just as things escalated, Clara Wei in her wedding dress came from behind with two more staff and the other staff that Zoey called earlier. "What's going on?" Clara Wei inquired, seeing that Abi and Zoey had taken quite the attention.
"Sister Lala!" As if she had seen her savior, the angel that cleansed the evilness in this world, Abi rushed towards Clara Wei.
"These two were hounding me! I only told them that they shouldn't touch the display without a staff around as it's not for sale! But, they told me to leave them and mind my own business! I'm just concerned because they might bring shame on Sister Lala because you let them in with us!" Abi detailed in one loud go. Her tone cracked midway, seeking sympathy as if she was bullied despite her good intentions.
"What?" On the other hand, Cora Ma was in utter disbelief at how Abi twisted her story to suit her favor.
Glancing at Zoey, Cora Ma could not help her brows but twitch. Why? Because Zoey was rather focused, as if she was very immersed with Abi's story.
Clara Wei frowned, disheartened at the story she knew was half lies. Glancing at Zoey, she sighed as if she was the big sister pondering how to teach this bad child a lesson.
"Miss Zhou..." shaking her head, Clara Wei sighed. "I know the display is just hard to resist, but no amount of money could make Mr. Patrizio sell this piece." Soft and lenient, Clara Wei explained like a good, understanding friend which from a bystanders perspective would make her look like the bigger person.
"You should apologize to Abi as she didn't deserve to be treated unjustly." Clara Wei added, suggesting a solution so this discussion wouldn't prolong.
However, Clara Wei knew Zoey. She wouldn't just apologize to people. Hence, that would make her look bad from everyone's eyes.
"Are you serious?" In utter disbelief, Cora Ma scoffed as she darted her gaze from Clara Wei, Abi, and then to the staff.
"What's going on?" Just then, the manager of the boutique came out upon the report she received. Walking to where the commotion was going on, she altered her gaze from Clara Wei in her wedding dress to Zoey's simple attire.
"Manager Tan..." As the manager inquired, one staff that had been assisting Clara Wei whispered and filled her boss in with the details.
After the staff detailed the whole ordeal, she glared at Zoey who jolted slightly by her intense gaze. "Miss Wei, I apologize if this might offend you but we have to escort Miss Zhou out as we follow a strict rule not to tolerate commotion in our shop." Manager Tan then turned to Clara Wei as she bowed her head as a gesture of an advance apology.
After all, Zoey seemed like she was the one who started the commotion and tried to get her hands on their big boss's masterpiece. Also, since Zoey only got in because of Clara Wei, Manager Tan assumed that Zoey was just a small fry young miss who's trying to fit in in the upper echelon's standard.
Therefore, Manager Tang was quick to decide as this day was special. After all, the head and the founder of this brand would visit the shop for the first time in three years! She couldn't bear to shame her managing skills in front of their big boss.
"Escort Miss Zhou out." Manager Tan ordered, glancing at the two female staff which nodded obediently.
"What?!" Seeing the two lady staff come close, Cora Ma scoffed in disbelief as she turned to Zoey's calm side profile.
"Wait," Zoey raised her hand, gesturing to the staff that came to her side to stop for a bit. "Manager Tan, is it?" Zoey asked, bearing nothing but an innocent tone to her simple question.
"Yes, Miss Zhou."
"Alright." Nodding her head in understanding, Zoey turned to the female staff and stretched her lips up. "You don't have to escort us out, we'll go voluntarily." She winked, recognizing the female attendant that treated her nicely earlier, and even bore a sorry look as she came to Zoey's side.
"Manager Tan, I'm a very petty person, but I don't blame you." Just as Zoey turned around, she paused in her tracks as she commented without batting an eye before resuming in her stride.
Meanwhile, Cora Ma scoffed at Abi and Clara Wei who bore delight in their eyes. "Wannabes." She muttered before following Zoey. Upon hearing that blunt insult, Clara Wei and Abi's expression changed as they were insulted by an ugly weirdo.
