"Miss, do I look like a fool who will get scammed in a foreign country?" Since Abi could speak fluent English, Patrizio Moretti could express his disbelief at the uncultured woman before him.
He had met a lot of elites in his line of work. However, it was a rare occasion to meet such a tactless lady! Also, did she know Zoey to speak ill words in front of her?
After all, Zoey's merits were nothing but real. She crawled up the ladder, helped a few of her friends like him to reach their own goal. Hence, Zoey's reputation wasn't merely superficial as it was all due to her hard work and cunningness.
"No, sir. But given that you're in a foreign country, people will tend to take advantage of you! I'm just merely helping you because I know those women!" Shaking her head, Abi explained politely, making her name as if she was just doing this act out of good will.
"After all, I can't let anyone have a bad impression about our country or its citizens if I can do anything about it!" Abi exclaimed, garnering awe from everyone around, especially from Zoey and Cora Ma.
"Wow... she should join politics..." Cora Ma muttered, utterly speechless at the level of shamelessness Abi has.
"Pfft—!" Meanwhile, Zoey snickered as she couldn't believe that Abi just said that! What was this claim of patriotism out of nowhere?
"Gosh... didn't those ladies take advantage of Miss Wei but still get kicked out because of their lack of tact?"
"I don't care. I'm enjoying this anyway."
"Pfft—! They even think they could use a foreigner to get their way back here."
"At this point, they were not just causing trouble but also tainting Patrizio Moretti's reputation. Others might think anyone can just enter this place!"
One after another, clients who were being assisted around could not help but comment at the commotion. After all, they found it amusing how persistent Zoey and her friend were about returning back to the store.
Therefore, they could only perceive Zoey and Cora Ma as gold diggers. Who wouldn't? After all, these types of women are present everywhere just to flaunt that they were part of the elites.
"Miss, I don't question your good will, thank you." Patrizio Moretti stretched his lips into a meek smile as he expressed his halfhearted appreciation. "However, these women are my friends. So rest assured no one is getting scammed." He explained, trying to sound polite despite his obvious displeasure at Abi's remarks.
"Sis Abi..." Just then, Clara Wei, who was now wearing her initial clothes and seemed to finish her fitting of her gown assailed their ears from the side.
She walked elegantly, approaching Abi's side before she raised her gaze to the foreign man. "What's going on?" She asked, despite seeing this same man talking to Zoey outside the premises.
"Sister Lala, I'm just helping this man from getting scammed!" Proud, Abi claimed before she returned her attention to Patrizio Moretti and scoffed. "Sir, even if they're your friends, they were banned here because of many reasons." Abi raised her voice, glaring at Zoey as she would humiliate her until she lost all face.
"Miss, I don't understand your displeasure about my friend. However, why would she get banned in a place she half owns?" Tilting his head to the side, Patrizio Moretti creased his brows which caused Cora Ma to gasp.
"Z? What is he talking about?" Tugging Zoey's arm, Cora Ma questioned as she understood the man's last remarks.
"Well..." Scratching the back of her head, Zoey pondered how she could explain her strange business ventures in the past. After all, she just didn't want to waste Patrizio Moretti's talents in the past and Zoey was a cheapskate who was always reluctant about buying brands with how high they cost.
"Hah! Is that what they told you? That she owns this place?! What a joke!" Upon hearing his statements, Abi laughed heartily as if she heard the greatest joke in her life!
"Pfft—! Now he's really getting scammed!"
"Oh dear, just when I thought this wouldn't get more interesting! I bet that woman would receive a lawsuit by the end of the day. Pfft!"
"They are shameless, indeed!" Same as Abi's amusement about Patrizio Moretti's claim, every young miss around chuckled in glee as they cast their disgusted gaze on Zoey. In their mind, Zoey overdid it.
On the other hand, Clara Wei bit the inner skin of her lower lip. She didn't expect that Zoey would make a stupid claim about owning the place. If so, why hadn't Clara Wei heard about it yet?
After all, when Patrizio Moretti's brand was established and got famous across the globe, Z Image Group was just starting to flourish. Hence, the timeline just didn't match!
"..." Meanwhile, Patrizio Moretti was out of words as he felt he was getting hounded in his own territory and disliked it very much. God... this is the reason he sometimes hated meeting people as they were just arrogant.
"Uhm, Miss Wei, you forgot...!" Just then, the manager came out from the other side of the shop, carrying a note that she forgot to hand over to Clara Wei.
However, the moment she saw the tall man standing before Abi and Clara Wei, Manager Tan's eyes widened as she clumsily glided to their side.
"Oh, Manager Tan, what..." Turning to the approaching manager who treated them special as they were VIP clients, Clara Wei smiled. Alas, her words trailed off upon the sight of Manager Tan bowing towards the man.
Not just Clara Wei, but everyone else found the manager's action strange too. Why did she seem frantic as if God himself had descended upon Earth?
"Mr. Moretti, I didn't know you've arrived. I'm sorry for not greeting you!" While on her deep bow, Manager Tan apologized nervously as she had been waiting for the big boss to arrive just to know that he's already there.
"Did she say Mr. Moretti?"
"Moretti as in Patrizio Moretti...?"
"Oh my god...!" In utter disbelief, the women who had been enjoying the show had to abruptly stop from getting entertained upon hearing the man's name.
"What... what did you call him...?" Abi stuttered, taking a step back before she turned to Manager Tan.
"Yes, Miss Wei, Abi, this man is Mr. Patrizio Moretti! The one and only!" Proud yet still nervous, Manager Tan reaffirmed as she would never mistaken this godly man who made all these beautiful designs that were displayed around the shop.
"Pfft—!" Chuckling on the back, Zoey particularly stared at Clara Wei's utterly surprised front as all her pretense unfolded before Zoey.
