His face was only a few inches away from her, giving her the privilege to feast her eyes on Matthew Xi's majestic front. She could stare at him all day! The faint scent of wine wafted her nose, giving her the idea that Matthew Xi had a few drinks before meeting her.
"You understand?" Without averting his russet eyes on her, Matthew Xi muttered. He felt that clearing his sexuality to her was not his or her problem.
Gulping, Zoey pursed her lips into a thin line as she nodded her head. "Are you... sure?" Yet, her stupid mouth moved before she realized.
Matthew Xi arched his brows, as he realized that Zoey's suspicions were stronger than he expected. "If you want to confirm, you can anytime." Leaning back in his seat, Matthew Xi cocked his head towards his brother down there.
After all, that simple kiss had a huge impact on him, giving him a hard on in an instant. He wouldn't feel that aroused if he wasn't interested in Zoey, right?
Zoey slowly moved her gaze to the direction he was indicating before immediately averting her gaze as she cleared her throat. "There's no need, I believe you." She stated, massaging her shoulder by her hand as she felt the heat coursing through her body.
"Anyway, where are we going? Are we going out for a walk?" Zoey changed the subject, as they had planned a date which was their last date bound by the deal they had.
"No, let me drive. I need to tell you something very important..." Shaking his head, Matthew Xi slowly hitched outside. Zoey watched him jog over to the driver's seat before he opened the door.
"I'll drive." Although Matthew Xi exerted a bit of effort for them to exchange seats, Zoey just glanced up at him from outside the door and insisted.
"Move..." Unfazed by her answer, Matthew Xi ordered in a low voice. "...please." He added, his tone much gentler this time as he didn't want to sound as if he was bossing her because she's his boss.
"Jeez... this is for your own good. Who knows what I'll be doing while you drive." Zoey murmured which was audible only for herself to hear.
"What are you saying?"
"Nothing, I said nothing." Shaking her head, Zoey returned her focus back at him as she looked up. "I feel like driving toni..." however, her words trailed off as Matthew Xi let his upper body in. He started unbuckling her seat, causing Zoey to lean back, squeezing herself in the seat as she stared at his flawless side profile.
After unbuckling her seat, Matthew Xi turned his head to face her, his face was only inches away from hers.
"Please?" He repeated, his eyelashes fluttered slowly which made Zoey's heart to drum frantically.
'Is he charming me?' Zoey's subconscious mind wondered, as she immediately raised the white flag being bewitched easily.
"Okay..." Raising her brows, Zoey looked away as she crawled her way to the front passenger seat.
As she did so, Zoey didn't notice the brief smile on his lips upon seeing her reaction. Biting his lower lip, Matthew Xi drew back to give her space to transfer.
When Zoey settled in the front passenger seat and Matthew Xi perched on the driver's seat, he began maneuvering the car in reverse mode. Matthew Xi placed his hand over her seat out of habit, slowly driving as he glanced at the back.
Zoey watched him and could not help but admire how manly, attractive, and sweet his gesture was. In retrospect, Zoey was always the driver, and this was her first time that she had the leisure to admire him.
Her gaze studied his solemn face, then slowly traveled down to his neck that was exposed by the first two unbuttoned buttons of his white shirt inside his suit. 'Wow...' she murmured internally.
"It will be approximately two hours drive, you can sleep first." When he managed to position the car and put it in drive mode, Matthew Xi said as he glanced at her.
"Mhmm," However, Zoey just hummed a tune while staring at him intently. "Darling, I'm curious if you're hiding your skin care products from me all these time. How can you have such flawless and poreless skin using just facial wash?" Out of nowhere, Zoey asked as she was utterly curious.
After all, Zoey had to visit her dermatologist over once in a while to stay pretty! She's a very high maintenance woman. Thus, she found it unfair that she was spending a lot to maintain her youth while Matthew Xi seemed like he wasn't even trying!
Speechless at her seemingly diverted attention, Matthew Xi just shrugged as he felt that this was better than hearing another love confession from her. He might completely snap if she spouted another 'I love you'.
With that being said, Matthew Xi began driving as he let her just stare at him. From his peripheral vision, he could see that Zoey never broke her gaze from him.
"Gosh..." She murmured, as if in awe at what she was staring. "You know if you just say you love me back, we don't need to travel two hours. We'll probably be giggling... moaning under the sheets if you do." In a matter-of-fact tone, Zoey grinned as she spoke her thoughts out loud.
Alas, as soon as Matthew Xi processed her words, he made an abrupt halt as he accidentally pressed the brake. Fortunately, there wasn't a car behind them, or else they would be in a mild accident.
"Woah! I know you had a few drinks but be careful!" With the help of the seatbelt, Zoey was just slightly thrown forward by the sudden change of gravity. "Let's not die here, okay?!" Checking the rear mirror, Zoey sighed in relief.
"If you don't want to sleep, just keep quiet until we reach our destination." A heavy exhale slipped from his lips, holding the steering wheel tightly before glaring at the culprit who made his heart leap, causing him to abruptly press on the brake.
"What... what did I say?" Zoey blinked her eyes many times, clueless on what she said wrong.
She was always this bold, right? He should be used to it by now like he always does! So, what's this different reaction from him?
Shaking his head, Matthew Xi turned on the radio. As soon as he did, a slow song immediately harmonized the inside of the car.
He then glanced at Zoey, whose face brightened in delight as she recognized the song. Without further ado, obviously, Zoey began singing along to the song.
'I'd prefer this torture.' Matthew Xi was half relieved and not at the same time as Zoey's singing was terrible. Even though he liked her, Matthew Xi could not lie about this part.
Still, given the situation, hearing her start her concert was preferable instead of letting her say whatever she wanted.. They might not end up at their location as Matthew Xi was easily swayed by her.
