Chapter 254 - Regal Party I

Gleam of lights sparkled by the chandelier gave off a magical vibe inside the enormous hotel hall. Graceful laughters of women in the lavish dresses resonated across the room while men in their tuxedos used this time to brag about their business ventures.

The bubbles in their champagne popped under the bright lights. Jewelries, luxury accessories, and everything fine was seen around as socialites in the upper echelon wore their best dresses to this grandiose party the Xi Family had hosted.

"Nice to finally meet you, Mr. Sun." At one spot around the spacious hall, a man in his late 50's smiled as he extended his hand out towards Richard Sun.

"Senator Yang, it's my honor to meet you." Grinning from ear to ear, Richard Sun shook his hands with the Senator.

Richard Sun had been quite used to this upgraded circle of people when he signed a contract with Matthew Xi. Obviously, doing business with the XI Corporation was akin to his key to meeting these kinds of people.

After all, the moment the news about the joint project between the XI Corporation and the Sun Corporation was announced, many doors of opportunity opened up for the Sun Family. Therefore, Richard Sun felt that giving up Zoey was worth it if he could ride on the XI Corporation's coattails.

"I heard that the project you were working on with the XI Corporation had started? How is it going so far?" Senator Wang courteously struck a conversation as he considered Richard Sun as one of their own — one of the remarkable men in the business industry for reaching this height.

"So far, it is going smoothly... all thanks to Mr. Xi and Senator Wang's help." Bearing the same polite smile, Richard Sun humbled as he pushed the credits to the senator and to Matthew Xi.

By his demeanor, Richard Sun also learned how to humble himself before these men. After all, elites of the elites were more sensitive than he expected and with just one wrong word, he would get shunned by most of them.

If that happened, that was akin to digging a grave for himself. Richard Sun's situation was more or less walking on a thin ice. Hence, he was walking cautiously not to offend anyone.

Moreover, Senator Wang had helped them start the project sooner with his connections. They didn't go through the hassle of the documents needed for the project because of him.

"Haha! No, I only gave my word to my colleagues." Pleased at how humble Richard Sun was, Senator Wang shook his head as he chuckled. "It's still thanks to Atty. Xi that we didn't have any problems with the papers." He explained, crediting Matthew Xi's cousin who was one of the best lawyers handling the Xi Corporation's legalities.

"Oh, there he is!" Speaking of the devil, Senator Wang raised his hand to catch the tall man in a black fitted suit. His hair was brushed back, giving one's eye to have a clearer view of his delicate features.

Seeing Senator Wang, Matthew Xi's cousin strode towards them and slightly bowed his head towards the senator. "Good to see you, Senator Wang." He greeted, his voice was rather deep unlike what he appeared.

"Director Sun," Shifting his attention to the man next to Senator Wang, Lucas Xi greeted without a trace of a smile from the beginning to end.

"Hehe. Atty. Xi. So me and Mr. Sun were talking about the XI Corporation's current project..." Without wasting his time, Senator Wang began to fill Lucas Xi about their topic so he could catch on as this discussion would obviously lead to somewhere else.

As Senator Wang, Richard Sun, and Lucas Xi conversed, a few remarkable men who knew one of the three started to join in which soon made this circle of businessmen grow. Of course, being around and getting introduced with some men he had never met before, Richard Sun felt overwhelmed but at the same time boosted his ego.

If he was able to laugh with them and chime in whatever conversation they had, it was already an honor to him. After all, glancing at the other men around, this group of men were all grown up and had proved themselves in the business or political world.

Richard Sun wasn't the same young master who fooled around anymore. He had leveled up, and realized how childish some young masters' circles were.

While Richard Sun was happy yet behaved around those men, Clara Wei who was standing on the corner of the hall secretly ground her teeth. How come Richard Sun was purposely ignoring her and Ezekiel Tang?

Now, they looked like a mere outcast in this event as no one would even bother to notice her future husband. "Hon, don't drink too much." Turning to Ezekiel Tang who downed his third glass of wine, Clara Wei softly reminded.

"I'm sure once Madam Xi sees us, everyone will take notice." She added, trying to comfort his hurt ego for being a small pea in this realm they had never stepped in.

"That's right, son. Madam Xi had been eager to meet you. Calm down, you cannot lose your head in here." Calm and collected, Olivia Tang backed up as she was confident her friendship with Vivian Xi was already firm.

After all, she didn't become Vivian Xi's 'assistant' to boost the Madam's ego for nothing. Moreover, Vivian Xi had reminded her multiple times to attend this very party to introduce her son and daughter-in-law to her.

Olivia Tang was certain Vivian Xi only did this to her. Therefore, she wasn't displeased that Richard Sun already mingled with those remarkable men while her son was being ignored. After all, everyone would recognize the Tang's any time soon.

Little did Olivia Tang know, they would get recognized but not as she expected.

"Ah? Aren't you young master Tang Ezekiel?" Just then, a goofy voice reached their ear which made the three turn their head to his direction.

There, the superstar and also one of the Xi, Enzo Li approached as his gaze darted from the two gloomy faces. "Hmm?" Raising his brows, Enzo Li hummed a questioning tune despite that he already recognized Ezekiel Tang as Zoey's ex-boyfriend.

Since Enzo Li's standing being a superstar and a member of the Xi Family, the three of them straightened up. "Yes, Mr. Li Enzo." Clearing his throat, Ezekiel Tang slowly rose from his seat as he slightly bowed his head.

Since he was the first person that noticed him, not to mention, a close relative of the Xis, Ezekiel Tang thought he could use this chance for Enzo Li to introduce him to others. After all, Enzo Li would probably know more people around.

"Ahh..." Nodding his head in understanding, Enzo Li slightly creased his brows as he was utterly confused about what these people were doing here.

Just then, a sudden idea crossed Enzo Li's mind before his lips curled into a mischievous smile. "I knew it. I heard a lot of things about you, Director Tang. It's my honor to meet you." Giving his hand out, Enzo Li spoke as Ezekiel Tang willingly shook his hands.

Fortunately, Enzo Li remembered Zoey's nonsense story of this man whom she called a useless director in the Tang Holdings. Hence, Ezekiel Tang's gloomy mood brightened up because Enzo Li knew his position in the company.

"Me too, Mr. Li." Smiling, Ezekiel Tang retracted his hand away.

"What are you doing here? Come, let me introduce you to some people." Cocking his head to the side, Enzo Li offered which boosted Ezekiel Tang's mood and not a trace of his displeasure from earlier was left.

With that being said, Enzo Li excused Ezekiel Tang from his fiancee and mother before they left them. As Clara Wei watched Enzo Li guide her fiance towards where Richard Sun's circle, a great sense of relief and pride enveloped her heart.

"See? Even Mr. Li can recognize my son's achievements." Pleased at the sudden change of events, Olivia Tang smiled before she spotted a group of madams who she had mingled before while tagging along with Vivian Xi.

Without a word, Olivia Tang left their table as she pranced towards the group of madams and left Clara Wei alone.

"Uhm..." Awkward being alone and unnoticed, Clara Wei looked around as she didn't want to become a wallflower in this event.. She needed to make connections too as there were a few producers and directors around.
