Chapter 296 - Want To Make A Bet?

"Are you crazy?!" Upon exiting the establishment, Kenneth Bai threw a huge fit as soon as Zoey let him go.

He took his tie off that was already loosened by all the dragging. God knows how much he felt humiliated because everyone they passed by kept on laughing at him!

"You!" He ground his teeth, utterly frustrated at the woman who made him a laughing stock that night.

"What?" Zoey's reaction lacked interest, batting her eyelashes lazily as if she had done nothing wrong.

"Do you know who I am, huh?! How dare you drag me along with you?!" Kenneth Bai could not believe his eyes upon witnessing her reaction. This girl was just unbelievable on many levels!

"Do you have a death wish, huh?!" He added, cracking his knuckles as if he was preparing for a fight.

"No, I don't want to die. I just want to race." Zoey shook her head, sighing faintly as the younger version of Kenneth Bai was one hell of an unstable lad.

In retrospect, though Kenneth Bai might be a little wild, yet he was always clear-headed. Zoey couldn't say she was close to him after Matthew Xi's death, but she had many interactions with him in their previous life after the series of tragedies.

After all, the Bai Family were mostly in the political field. Therefore, Zoey had to ask for Kenneth Bai's help to know classified information, that included underworld organizations.

Fortunately, Zoey and Kenneth Bai had started on the right foot in her previous life. Therefore, Kenneth Bai had snuck information that even Milo couldn't find out.

Regardless, Zoey wasn't surprised anymore if the young Kenneth Bai was a little edgy. Based on his personality, a man who was into extreme activities must have a set of wild years while growing old.

"Race?! Huh?! With you?! Do you know what you're talking about, crazy girl?!" Kenneth Bai scorned in dismay, peering at Zoey from head to toe with judgmental eyes.

"Yea..."

"Why would I race with a lady? Is this some kind of conspiracy to make me look bad if I defeated you?" His brows twitched, his mind concluding a nasty scheme that Zoey had planned to slander him.

God... for some reason, he was very annoyed at her! Not just because of how she behaved towards him but because of her guts!

For pete's sake! They were not friends or close enough for her to act the way she did! Yet, she behaved as if she knew him and they're really close which didn't make sense at all! Kenneth Bai wouldn't be friends with someone like her.

"Want to make a bet?" Zoey arched her right brow slowly, crossing her arms under her chest. Her tone bore confidence which irritated Kenneth Bai even more.

"Aha! Girl, you don't know who you're challenging ." Kenneth Bai, although annoyed, clicked his tongue as he somehow pitied her naivety.

Even if Zoey could drive a car or a motorbike, she wouldn't be able to defeat him. That was Kenneth Bai's forte!

"Are you scared?" Zoey tilted her head to the side, purposely tugging his nerves for him to take a rash decision.

"Scared? Ha! Who is scared of you?" Kenneth Bai almost choked at her taunting. "Sure, if you want to get off your high horse that much! If you lose, you have to apologize to me and be my slave for a month — no, for the rest of your life!" He sneered, perking his chin up arrogantly as he accepted her challenge.

"Sure. But, what if I win?" Zoey nodded her head in understanding before raising her gaze up and looking at him.

"Pfft—!" Yet, her question seemed to be too ridiculous for Kenneth Bai. "Sure, if you win, what do you want?" His tone contained mockery, sounding as if he was just saying it for the sake of it.

"I want a fancy car — preferably black without the slightest dent and brand new... under my name, please." Without further ado, Zoey detailed what she wanted as if she was merely stating it to a car dealer.

"A brand new car?" Kenneth Bai was mildly surprised at how 'simple' her request was. Be it a brand new car or an old one, Kenneth Bai could easily give her one.

He assumed that she wanted more: like a date with him, be her slave too, or anything impossible for this race to be cancelled. However, a car? Seriously? Well, not that Kenneth Bai would lose against a lady.

"Yes, I like KHAOS brand, get me one from that brand." She nodded her head, adding more details on the first car she would have in this lifetime.

"Damn... you're really crazy."

"Why? You can't afford it? That's actually nothing compared to my stakes. I'm staking my life and freedom, but I'm only asking for a new car in return." Zoey shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, speaking facts as she got her point across.

"Hehe! Don't beg for my mercy later when you lose!" Kenneth Bai could not help but chuckle as he could not believe that he was staking bets like this. He might consider himself heartless for accepting an amateur's challenge.

Alas, what else could he do? She started it! Tonight, he would teach her a lesson and make it known that no one should offend him from today onwards.

"Cool." Zoey nodded in satisfaction as that went easier than she had expected. Kenneth Bai was more or less like Enzo Li in her previous life. Just a bit of teasing and they were immediately pulled into unconsciously following Zoey's plans.

"We'll do it in xxx race tracks —"

"No, we'll do a street race." Zoey smirked, interrupting his sentence midway as she shook her head sideways. "Don't chicken out. I know a place where it's safe." Zoey shoved her hand inside the pocket of her leather jacket, and then tossed a coin towards Kenneth Bai.

Thanks to his fast reflexes, Kenneth Bai caught the odd-looking token. He scanned it from front and back and knitted his brows.

"I guess you know where that will take you. I'll see you there later." Pleased at his reaction, Zoey turned her back against him and began taking strides across the street.

"Wait!" However, Zoey was already across the street and wearing her helmet. Kenneth Bai watched her stance as she rode her bike, before revving up her motorcycle and speeding away.

"Hehehe.." A glint of mischief flickered across his eyes as he fished his phone out and announced about the race.
