Chapter 356 - Where’s Your Boss?

"Zia will kill me? Haha." Iñigo chuckled as the person, who reported the man from the basement , drew back.

"Hahahaha!" He kept laughing, shaking his head once in a while as he truly found the man's words silly.

"Boss, Niko dug up your grave and saw it was empty... Some of our men in Silva's territory are being interrogated. Niko would wipe them all out." While Iñigo chuckled in amusement, one bulky man came out of nowhere and without further ado, he reported the recent news from their undercover men stationed in the Silva Family.

"Ah..." Unlike the grave and alarmed expression of his men, Iñigo was rather indifferent as he nodded his head in understanding.

"Boss, Niko will surely find our hideout — before we know it, he's already outside, showering everyone with holes in their bodies!" Displeased at his boss's lack of concern about the matter, the bulky man frowned.

"He'll definitely do that." Iñigo agreed, nodding his head which rendered his men speechless. "Anyway, how is Angelo? Any news from him?" He asked, changing the subject since everyone finally gave him the chance to talk.

"Uh... nothing. He said Ivan is still the same and nothing seemed amiss at his end." The bulky man informed, knitting his brows.

"Really?" Upon hearing that response, Iñigo's pair of hazel eyes glinted. "He said that?" He asked, narrowing his eyes as he looked ahead, staring into the nothingness while the bulky man stood beside him.

"Yes."

"Send men to confirm that." Without batting an eye, Iñigo gave out the order which caused the bulky man to give him the look of doubt.

"Boss... are you doubting our brother?" Uttered in disbelief, the man peered at him in dismay; an ugly frown formed on the side of his lips.

"Hmm?"

"I mean, you know Angelo wouldn't betray us." Laced with disbelief, the man scoffed as he reminded Iñigo about their oaths.

"I know. But I want to confirm something." Unmoved by the suspicious gaze cast upon him, Iñigo offered a meek smile and shrugged his shoulders.

"Confirm? Boss, that man you ordered to be buried alive had been loyal to you; he even betrayed Niko." In a matter-of-fact tone, the man expressed in disbelief.

Sure, he could let Iñigo be unreasonable for torturing their men to death. However, he would surely speak up when the core members of the family — especially if it's regarding his brothers and sisters — are under suspicion. They wouldn't betray him, as long as Iñigo wouldn't betray them.

"I don't know how Niko found out you're alive, but you must interrogate Gelo fair and square." The bulky man, who seemed like he could break a person's arm using his bare hands alone, suggested. His gaze never left Iñigo's side profile.

Slowly, he saw how the corner of his lips curled into a smirk. "That is why I am sending people to Angelo's location. I am not suspicious of him, I know he'll be forever loyal to me." Iñigo paused, turning to face the bulky man.

"About that goner earlier, he's loyal to me now... but he will turn his back against me eventually. I don't need such people." The side of his lips still crooked up, sending chills down the man staring at him.

He looked like the devil incarnate, indeed. Just staring at him could make a person's hair raise. A literal sicko, hiding in a good and healthy looking shell.

"If that's the case, I..."

"No, I changed my mind." Iñigo interrupted him midway, waving his hand sideways with a smile on his face. "I'll visit them myself. Only I can confirm things when I see them for myself." His tone was laced with excitement, as if he fathomed to see what lies in Country S.

"But —"

"Don't worry. I wouldn't show myself to Zia or Ivan. I just want to know something..." Iñigo slowly retracted his gaze away from his men, looking ahead as his hazel eyes glinted.

The man that was staring at his boss's devious side profile could not help but wonder what was going inside his boss's head. He had been very weird lately and had already silenced a few of their men for whatever reason he held.

Needless to say, for him, Iñigo was akin to a possessed person. This was not the same Iñigo they were used to following. Still, since they trust

"As you wish..." The bulky man sighed, shaking his head sideways as he threw whatever thoughts he had at the back of his head.

Meanwhile...

"Aya...!" Zoey stretched her arms up, linking them together as she stretched her back sideways.

Subconsciously, Zoey's eyes moved towards the clock. It was past ten in the night and nothing seemed amiss. She then glanced towards the couch where Ivan was sleeping soundlessly despite his awful position.

"Jeez... maybe I was wrong?" After stretching her body, Zoey rubbed her chin as she pondered.

It was already late. Well, most illegal things happened past midnight. So, it was plausible that her visitors would come late at night. "Psh! How amateur." Zoey scoffed, shaking her head as she would surely laugh later if they come past midnight.

"Anyway..." While Zoey cleared her mind, she raised her brows and returned her eyes back to her screen.

Upon realizing that she was nearly at the end of the first volume of the love story she was writing, a satisfied smile formed on her lips.

"Ahh, I'm hungry! Will be back~" Since Zoey skipped her dinner, she could feel her stomach growl loudly. She peeked at Ivan before she shrugged, turned off her monitor, and then walked out of her office.

Inside her mind, Zoey thought that she'll just grab something to eat, maybe get something for Ivan too. If Jimmy Feng's men came while she was out, Zoey was certain she could trust Ivan on dealing with them.

With that in mind, Zoey happily exited the establishment. She skipped her way towards the nearest convenience store as if she didn't have any problem in the world.

At the same time, while Zoey was on her way to the convenience store, Matthew Xi arrived at the Z Image Building. He only looked up briefly before entering inside the building. In other words, he arrived minutes after Zoey left the building.

Matthew had a small paper bag in his hand, excited as he climbed up the stairs to feed the malnourished Zoey. Although he was well-aware that it was late, Matthew noticed the lights on on this floor from outside.

Thus, it was safe to say that he could feed her or ask her to feed him using many tricks. After all, they now have 10 dates to use.

Shortly after, Matthew reached the entrance of Z Image Group's office. He faintly knocked before he carefully opened the door and peeked inside.

As expected, the office was empty. Hence, he slowly entered the office and his eyes immediately searched for Zoey's office. Surprisingly enough, the door to the CEO office was open.

Matthew leaned his head to the side, peeking to see if there was anyone inside. But he could see that no one was occupying Zoey's seat behind the desk. Curious, he knitted his brows as Matthew wordlessly headed close towards the open office.

*knock knock*

Faint knocks were heard as he rapped his knuckles against the door. Matthew peeked his head inside but no one was there.

Since the whole office was silent and everyone left, including Zoey, who was supposed to live in this particular office, Matthew was curious. He paced back and forth, holding the paper bag of supper he had with him.

'Maybe, I'll wait for her?' Matthew wondered, darting his gaze across the office before he exhaled deeply.

As soon as he exhaled, he nodded in determination and waited inside the CEO's office. Of course, he still had a bit of shame that's why he immediately perched on the chair near the CEO's desk.

Matthew waited for minutes... but minutes were akin to hours for him. Soon, he found himself looking around the office; checking out the magazines, books, and other things that Zoey's office could offer.

He purposely tried to not touch her important stuff because he didn't want to be called disrespectful. For pete's sake! He had done it once, he didn't want to over think about her stuff again.

However, unlike what his mind screamed, Matthew found himself opening Zoey's monitor as he perched on her swivel chair comfortably.

When the monitor beamed open, the lights of the floor building suddenly turned off. "Huh?" Matthew, who was thrilled upon the glimpse of what welcomed him, knitted his brows.

The power shortage was too sudden for him that Matthew felt blind for a moment. No matter how many times he blinked, or looked around, all he could see was black everywhere.

'I should...' Since his eyes just began to adjust, Matthew rummaged through his pockets to take out his phone. However, just as he touched his phone, he heard a distinct clink as a cold, small circular metallic pressed on the back of his hand.

"Where's your boss?" Matthew heard a stern voice belonging to a man, which made his brows knit as he slowly raised both his hands sensing the danger.
