"Hey, there my friend!" Upon the last step he took, Ivan abruptly grabbed the hand that was stroking Cora's leg. The sudden intrusion of the seemingly fun crowd startled the man.
Ivan, who was carrying a wide yet twisted grin on his lips, lifted the wrist up. Since Ivan was a six feet tall man, the man in a formal smart suit tiptoed. "Ah! Ah! Ah!" The man grunted as the grip on his wrist tightened, it was as if Ivan intended to break it, all the while bearing a sinister smile on his lips.
Meanwhile, Ivan's sudden entrance caused her to look up speechlessly. As soon as she laid her eyes on the familiar foreign man, she bit her lower lip while the corner of her teary eyes gleamed in relief. For some reason, she felt a strong sense of security with him around. Maybe, because he was Zoey's brother from another mother.
"What the, ah!" The man struggled but to no avail. The more he attempted to get away from his grasp, the more Ivan held onto him effortlessly.
"Hey! What are you doing?! Are you insane?!" Just as the other people around the table snapped back to the current situation, one man jolted from his seat. He pointed accusingly toward Ivan, shouting his words that snapped the rest from their confusion.
"Ah??" Lazily, Ivan stared at the man who was pointing at him. "Are you saying I'm much more handsome than him? Well, thank you very much for the compliment." Then again, Ivan didn't understand what he was saying, taking this time to fill the blanks with sarcasm.
After all, they seemed like they didn't speak english as well. Therefore, Ivan didn't find the need to trouble himself with using words. Ivan was already starving and drained from the young staff that served him earlier.
"Sir, I think you're mistaking our boss for someone else. Please talk about this in peace or else, I'm calling the police." However, just as he thought no one speaks English among them, another man stood up from his seat.
Unlike the former, this person who could speak the same language as Ivan was calmer. "Please," He remarked politely once again, staring straight at his blue eyes.
"Mistaken?" Yet, despite the threat of the authorities, Ivan was unfazed. "How can I mistake a pervert whom I caught in the act?" He asked, arching his right brow before glancing at the man who was wincing in pain.
"This boss of yours was trying to get under his female employee's skirt. Police? Sure, call the police so that this guy can go to where he truly belongs." Again, Ivan shifted his eyes into the direction of the lone soul who could understand his words.
Upon hearing Ivan's remarks, the man pursed his lips as he gulped. "So, you know?" Ivan asked, seeing the slight change in the person's expression.
"What do you mean I know? I don't know anything! I'm just saying, let's not resort to violence." Slightly, the man panicked as he denied the accusation that was yet to be spoken of.
"Hah!" Ivan scoffed, chuckling as he shook his head. "Dang… Burying a few bodies tonight will be a hassle." In between his faint laughter, Ivan sighed as these three men were too silly that he wanted to silence them that very second -- not in a literal sense, though.
"Ah! Are you crazy?! This woman seduced me!" Surprisingly enough, the boss who felt the slight relief from the slight loosening of his grip bellowed, which Ivan understood.
"Oh? So you can speak English?" Ivan blinked his eyes many times, the corner of his lips curled up into a grin. "And you're saying she's seducing you?" He then cocked his head in Cora's direction, who was still shocked.
For a brief moment, Ivan glanced at Cora and sighed. The next second, Ivan, who wasn't as gentlemanly as anyone, grabbed Cora by her back collar and lifted her up. "She seduced you? Is there something wrong with your eyes?" His words were laced with ridicule and disdain at the man and then moved his gaze back to Cora.
"Wh -- what…" Cora, who was hundred percent clueless at what they were talking about, pursed her lips into a thin line. Although she couldn't understand them and why she was being held up like a doll, what slightly displeased her was she had this feeling that Ivan was insulting her.
Regardless, since Ivan seemed like he was helping her, she wanted to remain silent. Her knees were still shaking at the thought of being taken advantage of by her boss.
"Sit down, first." As if Ivan sensed her current state of mind, he let her go. He then pressed her shoulder down lightly until she sat down again.
When Ivan was sure that Cora was fine and behaving well, he returned his sharp eyes back to her boss. "Tsk." He clicked his tongue, tightening his grip on his wrist.
"Ah!" The man grunted in pain. But, due to an adrenaline rush to take the pain away, he mustered his remaining strength to assault him but to no avail. Before his fist could land on Ivans abdomen, Ivan caught it midway and then lifted it up.
Now, Ivan had his both hands hanging up. Because of his physique, Ivan appeared like he was holding the man up effortlessly -- like a male doll being hung up in a funny position. Although the man's feet were still on the ground, if one counted just the toes touching the ground, that is. .
"I'm calling the police!" The other man threatened, grinding his teeth as his boss was being humiliated in front of his other colleagues.
Some people around the table gasped in disbelief, others -- or rather, a very few number -- mostly women didn't seem like they were too concerned about their boss. If anything, their eyes spoke volumes of what their lips couldn't.
"Ahh! You'll regret this! I-- ah! You'll get deported!" In between his clenched teeth, the man who was being utterly humiliated by this alien threatened.
"If I get deported by standing up for the weak by predators like you, this country is done for." This time, the crooked smile on Ivan's lips disappeared. It was replaced by a blank and flat expression as he stared at the man dead in the eye.
"Look at me," This time, Ivan lifted the man higher until the tip of his black shiny shoes couldn't reach the ground anymore. "You're a f*cking pervert, okay? Don't you ever dare blame your victims for seducing an old, d*ckhead like you. This is the last time you're doing this, because I'll be watching you forever." Ivan's eyes never left the wincing man before him.
"Be grateful that she's already traumatized, or else, no one would ever recognize you again." With that being said, Ivan let the man go, tipping his calf so he would lose his ground to stand. "Mark my words. I'm watching you." As the man collapsed on the ground with his bottom, Ivan perked his chin up lightly, eyes gazing down at him as if he was superior.
After a second, Ivan looked away from him as he turned his head to Cora. She was watching them wordlessly, but her terrified expression was apparent for everyone's eyes to see. "Let's go." Ivan sighed, grabbing her by the wrist as he pulled her up.
Without further ado, Ivan dragged her with him. Fortunately, Cora snapped and managed to pick up her bag while he dragged her. They stopped when the young staff appeared in front of them.
Beside the young staff was an older staff, wearing almost the same uniform as him but seemed to have a higher position. "Fork and husband." The young man said, which instantly made Ivan's face uglier.
"Sir, we're gravely sorry but we don't serve men here. This employee was…" The older staff explained, his words were directly towards Cora as she seemed like she could understand them.
However, as he explained the situation, Ivan already lost his appetite and completely misunderstood them; he already assumed that the young staff brought the other as his husband. Therefore, Ivan hastily grabbed his wallet, took out some cash, and placed them on the table.
"Zero stars. Let's go." Ivan spouted, before grabbing Cora's wrist again and dragged her out.
"Wait," On the other hand, Cora spoke the new vocabulary she learned last night but he wasn't listening to her anymore.
"No wait, police might come and then I'm dead." Under his breath, Ivan explained despite knowing she wouldn't understand clearly.. Fortunately, she didn't struggle and didn't give him a hard time as they stormed out of the establishment leaving everyone in silence.
