There was a moment of silence after Zoey dropped her words. Her twinkling gaze traveled from the three to Matthew. "So?" She giddily broke the silence, the side of her lips curled into a wider grin.
"With blindfolds?!" One of them asked, frowning at the condition of the game. Although their marksmanship were undeniably good, one needed to see to shoot their targets. Especially, if the target was moving, or else, it'll take them forever or just randomly shooting.
"Uh, I thought you can…" Zoey's eyes blinked innocently, looking up to her back up named Matthew as if she was a good girl.
After seeing the pitiful gaze of Zoey, Matthew returned his gaze back to the three. "With blindfolds." He said, rendering the three speechless.
"Yes!" Zoey cheered secretly, but still visible and audible enough for the four of them to see.
"The game will start in an hour." Matthew ordered, turning to Zoey. "Can I join?!" Just as he did, Zoey beamed another request at him with a hopeful countenance.
"No." He rejected almost instantly, not even batting an eye as he began taking strides away from them.
Seeing that he began trudging away, Zoey darted her gaze from the three to Matthew. "Hey!" She called out, jogging as she followed Matthew's tracks.
"Wait for me -- hey!" As Zoey jogged, she felt that Matthew hastened his pace which turned her jogging to sprinting so she could catch up.
Meanwhile, as the two left the open space, the three could only watch Zoey sprint to catch up to their boss. "Wen, who is that weird girl with the master?" The shortest among the three men and the man who kept on shooting millimeters away from the bullseye, asked Owen Wei.
Owen Wei, the person who was boasting earlier, shrugged his shoulders. "Who knows, Yan…" He sighed, shaking his head sideways after retracting his gaze away from the two departing figures. "Ter might know." He perked up his chin towards the serious-looking guy who had shot at the hole in their targets earlier.
"I don't, unfortunately." Carter Jia answered, narrowing his eyes particularly at Zoey's back. "But, I get the feeling I've seen her before." He said, racking his brains in silence as he pondered where he could have seen that odd woman.
"You always have a feeling you've met everyone that master is involved with." Ryan Shen, the man who was shooting millimeters away from the bullseye, humored.
"Ughhh… I don't care." Owen ruffled his hair, messing it up more than ever. "What the heck are those blindfolds…" He added annoyingly, tossing his pistol on the flat surface of the deck nearby.
"Heh, you're just worried you'll lose." Ryan teased, chuckling as he played with his pistol in his fingers. "With or without blindfolds, I'll win, anyway." He added, sounding proud and certain at his claims.
Owen gazed at him with eyes full of dismay. "I'm worried you will shoot yourself!" He rebutted, scoffing as he insulted the man.
The two bickered with Owen getting irked slowly while Ryan stayed cool and playful as ever; Carter, on the other hand, remained silent as he unloaded the pistol in his hand. "Hey, Ter, are you worried as well?" After a while, Ryan approached him bearing an expectant look in his delicate visage.
Carter just glanced at his colleague, blinking his eyes ever so slowly before his lips parted. "Don't bawl your eyes out later." Upon saying his piece, Carter began walking away, not adding anything else or giving them a glance back.
"Aiya! Look at that guy…" Owen clicked his tongue, his gaze fixated on Carter's retreating back. "He always acts the serious type but always thinks he's the best." He rubbed his chin, glancing at Ryan who was looking at Carter's direction.
"Hey, Yan," Suddenly, Owen called him out which snapped Ryan back from his trance. "Come here. I have a proposal." Slowly, the side of his lips curled into a wide grin which made the latter narrow his eyes before coming close vigilantly.
When he was close enough, Owen opened his mouth and spoke. As Ryan listened, his eyes widened in disbelief.

Meanwhile…
"Hey--!" After the nth call for him to slow down his pace, Matthew finally stopped. However, it was so abrupt that Zoey bumped against his back.
"Aw!" She squealed lightly, rubbing the tip of her nose as she stepped back. "Wait for me…" She frowned, stopped rubbing the tip of her nose.
Matthew gazed down, his eyes staring at her slightly reddish nose and her lips which appeared to be an adorable pout. "You can't join." He said, despite that Zoey didn't say it yet.
'Damn it!' Upon hearing his last remarks, Zoey grumbled internally. 'I wanted to join! How can he guess that before I pull my ultimate card?!' Her adorable visage slowly appeared into a look of dismay.
"Come with me," Since Matthew had no leisure time to hear her persuasion, he grabbed her hand and began walking. This time, he walked slowly and didn't drag her along.
Obviously, Zoey noticed this slight change. Hence, since she was in a more or less good mood, the side of her lips grew into a grin as she wrapped her fingers around his hand. Matthew glanced at her upon feeling the action, but Zoey just smiled sweetly at him.
"What is it this time?" Unlike her manner earlier, Zoey looked forward to what he was about to show her again. Well, she didn't expect him to have a secret camp like this which reassured her that he would be safe for now.
The questions about what happened in this place and the people that were living in it remained at the back of her head. Zoey decided to get to know more of her husband's youth while enjoying the dangers lurking around. She would continue to love him, anyway. Not that there would be any changes.
Therefore, Zoey got a little excited with a whole new perspective she has right now. Not to mention, she was more head over heels with this version of her husband.
Little did she know, her excitement would soon turn into fear the second they enter the manor.
