Unlike what she had expected, they spent the entire trip with Zoey's face distorting because Matthew ignored her. All her romantic advances, none of them was a success as Matthew wouldn't even bat her an eyelid.
"Remember this day!" As soon as their car came to a full halt, reaching their destination, Zoey warned as she would blueball him when the time came. How dare he pretend to be unfazed to her love advances? She knew he was doing it on purpose. Damn… since his abrupt romantic advances weren't working anymore, he found a way to tease her.
"Haha." As she slammed the door of the passenger seat, Matthew chuckled as he watched her stormed inside the entrance of the restaurant; it was the location of her business meeting. "It's always fun to tease her." He muttered, unbuckling his seat as he hitched outside the car.
"Madam Zhou, wait for me." As he closed the door, Matthew lazily called out to his boss for the day. Yet, Zoey didn't stop in her tracks as she headed inside, leaving him alone. "What a temper." The corner of his lips curled into a sly smirk, shaking his head once again as he followed suit.
Meanwhile, when Zoey headed inside the restaurant, the receptionist accommodated her. After telling the female attendant about her appointment, she immediately guided Zoey to a private dining room.
As Zoey followed the female attendant, she looked back to see that Matthew hadn't come in yet. At the same time, since she wasn't looking ahead, Zoey bumped into someone.
"Ah!" She let out a faint squeal, balancing herself so she wouldn't collapse to the tiled floor. Slowly, Zoey raised her head. Upon laying her eyes on the person she collided with, her under eye twitched.
"Ah, I'm sorr…" The man gazed down, offering his hand to her while apologizing. However, his words trailed off upon laying his eyes on the beauty in front of him.
'Damn! How can I forget that this guy is always hanging around Professor Meng during this time?!' Inside her mind, Zoey scolded herself as she had completely forgotten Richard Sun's existence.
Gosh… Zoey could still remember how persistent this guy was! She had wasted too much money on lawsuits against him because he wouldn't just leave her alone. If Zoey compared Inigo and Richard Sun's existence, she would choose to face Inigo instead of Richard Sun.
This might be silly of her, but facing Inigo was easier than Richard. After all, although Inigo's existence would give her nightmares, Richard, on the other hand, was a nightmare itself. What Zoey didn't consider was she was with Richard's nightmare, the sole reason why the man stopped obsessing about her in their previous life.
"I — I'm sorry. Are you alright?" After a minute, Richard snapped back to reality. Slowly, his lips beamed a gentle smile as he appeared to be a kind-hearted hero who was there to help the damsel in distress.
"Yes." Zoey nodded her head, ignoring the helping hand before her as she assisted herself up. "It's fine. I was the one who wasn't looking." As she dusted off her pants -- fortunately, she didn't go wearing a skirt — Zoey raised her head and sported a polite smile.
Richard only smiled and said nothing. For a moment, Zoey studied Richard's demeanor and the smile on his lips. She could tell that Richard wasn't a full-blown crazy in this lifetime. Maybe, she thought, if she wouldn't show him interest, he wouldn't bother her in this lifetime.
With that in mind, Zoey slightly bowed her head. "Anyway, I have a meeting. Sorry for the sudden inconvenience." She said politely, thinking that Richard wouldn't turn out to be the same obsessed maniac after seducing him for a whole five minutes.
As expected, Richard bowed his head slightly to return her polite gesture. Zoey then began walking, following the female attendant. However, as she did so, she could feel Richard's presence behind her.
When they were near their destination, Zoey forced a smile on her lips before she turned around. "Mister, are you following me?" She asked, trying to sound polite despite the fakest smile she could ever show to someone.
'Please don't tell me you fell for me at first sight! I don't have time to spare you!' Yet, inside her mind, she was screaming as she was afraid that he would confess his love for her just like his grand confession in their previous life.
But, to her surprise, Richard cast her an eye full of question marks. "Huh?" He cocked his head to the side, knitting his brows together. "I am not. This is where I'm heading as well." Still, Richard remained polite as he clarified this misunderstanding.
When Zoey heard him, the wrinkle on the side of her lips twitched. "Here?" She asked, pointing at the door where the female attendant was standing waiting for her.
"Yes." Without a second delay, Richard nodded his head as he smiled at her reaction. "If I may," He tilted his head to the side, walking past her as the smile on his lips grew wider.
Meanwhile, Zoey just gasped as her eyes followed his figure. Richard headed inside while the female attendant smiled back at him. "Ugh… Professor Meng…" At this point, Zoey realized something similar in her previous life.
In her previous life, it was Professor Meng who introduced Richard to her. The said professor had a habit of matchmaking her with eligible bachelors. However, before she took that spot in the said professor's habit, it was originally from Richard.
"It's okay, Z. Brownie is here…" Zoey pinched the space between her brows, calming her nerves, telling herself that Matthew got her back. However, as she turned around, her assistant for the day was yet to follow her.
"Gosh! Did he get lost?!" She looked around but to no avail. Matthew wasn't there, which intensified her headache. "Whatever. This is business. Worry about other things later!" With that being said, Zoey stomped her way inside the private dining room. She stopped in front of the door, taking a deep breath as her demeanor changed as well.

Meanwhile…
"Yo, we meet again!" Matthew turned his head to the direction of a voice from days ago. There, the foreigner man named Inigo was waving his hand from the table in the corner.
As soon as Matthew confirmed that it was indeed that man from the bar, he knitted his brows. Still, he walked towards the table. "What a coincidence! Are you following me?!" When Matthew approached the table, the pair of deep hazel eyes glinted as he grinned.
"Or, are we really destined to meet?" Inigo chuckled, shaking his head as he sounded romantic with the question. "Why don't you take a seat?" He proposed, tilting his head to the vacant seat across him.
Matthew, for a while, remained silent. But, surprisingly enough, he slowly perched on the seat across Inigo. "For some reason, I think I should sit with you." When Matthew sat, he glanced up as he spoke his mind.. "Who are you?" Without beating around the bush, Matthew inquired as he had a feeling taking this man's offer was far more important than following Zoey.
