Just as Zoey thought he would sneak another kiss on her lips, she thought wrong. Matthew pressed his lips deeper, indulging with the taste of her lips while she enjoyed his.
"Mhmm…"
Unintentionally, a moan slipped past her lips as his tongue dipped inside hers. As soon as that reckless moan reached his ears, Zoey felt his hands clasped on her waist.
"Mhm… darling," As soon as Zoey detected the brewing heat within her, she reluctantly parted her lips away from him.
She saw him frown upon doing so. Deep down, Zoey felt apologetic. She missed him and her body craved for his warmth. However, thirty minutes was never enough even if it was just a quickie.
Moreover, doing the deed now, even if she covered her mouth to suppress her moans would only make them hungry. After all, Matthew had to work after this.
Zoey was afraid he would have to skip a meal or would just have a bite or two. They could always continue where they left off and let out some steam next time.
"Alright, let's eat." The sight of Zoey completely made Matthew raise the white flag.
With just a glance, he already discerned she wanted him as well. However, he figured she was worried about his 'appetite'.
Therefore, instead of worrying her, Matthew just agreed. He could always have a chance later anyway.
Zoey pouted before she left a last peck on his lean cheek. "Next time, love love."
She said as she dragged herself back on her feet. Zoey then lent her hand, and wiggled her fingers as she waited for him to take it.
Matthew glanced up and then shifted his eyes to her wiggling hands. "Next time, for sure."
Upon stating so, Matthew accepted her hand and slowly rose to his feet. With their hands intertwined, Zoey and Matthew walked out of the office spreading love in the air.

Meanwhile…
"Niko, can you calm the f*ck down?" Ivan shouted, holding on the car's handle as if holding onto his dear life.
Currently, Niko was driving aimlessly around the city. It was still a surprise that they weren't pulled over by the cops. Still, Niko was driving recklessly like a mad man!
"Stop crying like a p*ssy, Ivan." With his eyes focused on the road, Nikolai sassed with a scoff.
"Well, I'm not suicidal like you!" Ivan was quick to argue, casting the insane Nikolai an eye full of disdain.
After Ivan argued, Niko didn't speak further. Instead, he stepped on the pedal and their speed slowly accelerated even more.
"Sh*t!" Ivan cursed, shrinking into the front passenger seat.
Truly, Zoey and Nikolai had similar personalities. It was as if Nikolai was the guy version of Zoey and vice versa.
The only difference was, Ivan never truly felt he was in danger whenever Zoey drove recklessly. Perhaps, it was the thought that Zoey treasured her own life and she wouldn't throw it easily.
Nikolai, however... Ivan could only pray to all the gods out there. This car ride was just full of uncertainty. Niko was truly pissed. Ivan wouldn't be surprised if Niko would intentionally crash this car.
'Ahh! Cora, Mi Amor, I wish I had expressed my love deeper!' Subconsciously, Ivan shut his eyes tightly as Cora's face flashed across his mind.
Cora's beautiful smile that could drive him crazy. Her gentleness and understanding. Ivan only wanted Her to be his last thoughts.
Ivan had always thought he had been very outspoken about his feelings. However, in this crucial time, Ivan felt it was not enough.
The words, 'I love you', weren't enough to say it once. Actually, even if he had said it every minute of every day, it was just not enough.
"Damn it…" Through his gritted teeth, Ivan felt like tearing up.
Before, the thought of dying would even change the pace of his pulse. However, just the mere thought of leaving Cora in this world and knowing she would be with another man…
Just those simple thoughts brought tears in his eyes.
"Are you crying?" Just as Ivan was bidding Cora a farewell in his mind, Nikolai's voice snapped him back.
Slowly, Ivan opened his eyes just to see they had already pulled over. Ivan's first course of action was to heave a sigh of relief as he had lived through that.
"Man, you have only been staying here for months and I don't recognize you anymore." Nikolai uttered in dismay, casting Ivan an eye full of criticism.
"F*ck off, Niko. I'm not crying! It's sweat." Annoyed, Ivan clicked his tongue.
He knew he was tearing up because of something else. Thus, he was unaffected even if Nikolai would call him stupid names.
After all, they lived in an environment more dangerous and life-threatening than verbal insults. The reason Ivan could just easily shrug Zoey's blunders, and Zoey too.
"What a p*ssy," Nikolai shook his head before leaning his back against the interiored leather seat.
"That guy… who is he, Niko?" As Nikolai changed the topic, his eyes glinted with killing intent.
Ivan, on the other hand, halted as he snuck a glance at Niko's side profile. He pursed his lips in a thin line, pondering whether it was a good idea to let Niko know about Matthew.
"Ivan."
When Nikolai called him once again, Ivan let out a deep sigh. Not that he could oppose Niko at the moment. After all, Ivan wanted to break his ties with the Silva Family. Diverting Nikolai's attention was better than focusing on his resignation.
"Well," Ivan cleared his throat, scratching the back of his head. "That guy earlier is Sis's boyfriend. I don't know much about him, but he is very influential."
Ivan carefully kernelized the details he would tell Niko. Obviously, Ivan didn't want to rat out Matthew and his secret militia. That was akin to purposely cause a war in the underworld.
Matthew was still Zoey's lover, after all. Ivan, although he didn't have a good impression of Matthew, still respected him. He was not a bad guy, after all.
"Influential, huh?" Niko breathed in and out calmly as he closed his eyes.
Ivan remained silent, studying Nikolai's side profile in discretion. When Nikolai opened his eyes, Ivan gulped hard as the former's eyes were oozing with killing intent.
"That guy now has my undivided attention.. Ivan, I have a new mission for you."
