Chapter 675 - Crazy And The Crazier

"Why, Zia? I'm perplexed about what's so funny?" Nikolai cocked his head to the side, his grip tightening as if he was trying to pull out her jaw.

His grip was so tight that Zoey's gum started bleeding. Yet, instead of fear, she smiled as her eyes were challenging him.

"Hahaha!" As if to spite him, Zoey laughed even louder… louder and louder as blood smeared her teeth and a tang of iron filled her taste buds.

"Shut up." Nikolai warned, but to no avail. Zoey's laughter only grew louder. "I said, SHUT UP!"

Out of rage, Nikolai pushed her to the side that caused Zoey to fly out of the couch. Her shoulder bumping against the small table, causing a tremor on the glasses placed on the table's surface.

"F*ck!" He cursed, scratching the back of his head annoyingly as he sprung out from his seat.

Nikolai paced back and forth, constantly casting Zoey, who was on the floor, at a glance. With her silence, Nikolai pinched the bridge of his nose and walked towards her.

He squatted down, his eyes scanning her. "You should've shut up when I told you so."

"Hah," Unyielding, Zoey slowly moved her head to him. "You're funny, Niko."

"Zia, I've only been lenient to you, like always. But you know me. So, why don't you listen to my advice, hmm?"

"You never lose your cool unless you feel threatened." Zoey smirked as she cupped Nikolai's cheek. "Tell me, darling. What is it that you're afraid of?"

Nikolai stared at Zoey's eyes, full of ridicule. "Afraid? Me?" He chuckled.

"Does my husband's activities threaten you? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't recruit Cecil just because he can be useful. We both know you'd prefer him dead." Zoey arched her brow as she stilled him in his place so she could keep his gaze locked with her.

There were only a few times when Nikolai had lost his cool… no, it was just one time when Zoey had seen Nikolai lose his cool. That was when Inigo threatened him about something they disagreed about.

Thus, Zoey wanted to test because if she didn't, she'd lose her mind thinking Matthew would be in danger. She was barely hanging upon knowing Matthew stepped down just so he could go deeper in this chaotic world.

Fortunately, Nikolai was always honest with her. Even if he denied it in words, his actions would always be honest with her.

"You're so charming even if you act crazy, sweetheart." Nikolai smirked as he narrowed his eyes. "Leave us," He shouted and the men on standby left without a word.

When they were along, Nikolai studied her defiant expression. Looking at her up close, closer than before, made him realize what he was afraid to lose.

Slowly, he leaned closer, but Zoey nonchalantly drew away.

"No." Zoey bluntly refused the kiss he was trying to get. "Know your place, Niko."

Zoey shook her head as she patted his lean cheek before withdrawing her hands. However, just as she did, Nikolai suddenly caught her wrist, causing her to arch her brow.

"I know my place, Zia. Do you?" He cocked his head to the side, raising both his brows, casting her a knowing look.

They'd been together for a week. They even slept on the same bed. Although nothing sensual happened between them, Nikolai was holding back just because he wanted her to come to him herself.

"So, you'll force yourself on me now?" Zoey lifted her chin a little, narrowing her eyes as she scrutinized his arrogant front.

"Hmm." Nikolai hummed a long, pondering tune. "No. But now, I want to try."

Without a second hesitation, Nikolai suddenly pushed her, pinning her wrist down as his wicked gaze never left her eyes.

"Ha!" Zoey chuckled before gritting her teeth as she tried to struggle, but to no avail. Nikolai pinned her securely so that her hands started losing blood circulation.

"Wow, Zia." Nikolai nodded in satisfaction. "You're so weak. Any man can do whatever they please if they catch you off-guard."

"Let me go, Nikolai Silvestri." Zoey warned firmly, pulling her hand, but failed miserably.

"Why? I can do anything to you." Nikolai arched his brow as he tilted his head to the side.

His eyes slowly traveled down, seeing her pulsating neck and then to her exposed collarbones down to her upper chest. He nodded, pleased at her fair skin that was just screaming to be nibbled on.

"How arousing." He muttered in fascination.

Nikolai never thought of forcing himself into her. However, right now, he somehow found a new game that could entertain him.

"Oh, Zia… why did you have to force me to do this?" Nikolai whispered as he bent down, trying to get what he wanted.

Alas, Zoey turned her head to the side. Seeing her jaw locking and blood slipping out from her lips, Nikolai narrowed his eyes as his grip on her wrist loosened.

"You'd rather die than be touched by someone rather than him?" Nikolai sat up as he forcefully placed his thumb on her chin to open her mouth.

Unlike the blood when he grabbed her by the jaw, Zoey tried to bite her tongue off. Her tongue was still intact, but it was bleeding, filling her mouth with nothing but blood.

"How pathetic." Nikolai scoffed as he tossed her chin to the side.

Slowly, Nikolai stood back on his feet while Zoey remained lying on the floor. He gazed down, his eyes glinting with killing intent.

"What I'm afraid of is losing you, Zia. That's always been since that day. It's always been you. That's why…" Nikolai paused as he took a deep breath and took a step back.

"I'll butcher him in front of you. Don't even think of killing yourself. I'll just revive you back to life, even if you're bedridden, you'll stay with me forever. If I were you, better start learning how to be obedient. You're not going anywhere." Nikolai assured as if he had set Matthew's fate in stone.

Upon saying his piece, Nikolai walked away with a heavy heart, leaving Zoey lying on the floor. As she stared at the high-ceiling, tears began rolling down from her eyes.

"Pathetic." She muttered under her hitching breath.
