Achis laid the things he brought on the table and Yanarym took the garments.
"I'm changing into this first." Leaving Achis behind, she entered the bedroom.
"What do you mean, you haven't seen her?" In the banwa of the original, as Maki stepped inside the first thing he did was ask about the whereabouts of Yanarym. Yet, he found nothing. As he was looking for the slaves that were responsible for taking care of her.
"Bai never came back last night after taking a night stroll to the forest. Datu Pita is now searching for our lady." The slave replied.
"It's all my fault I shouldn't have let Bai go alone on her own!" A crying slave blurted, howling her eyes out. The other slave calms her down and Maki turns his back to look for Yanarym too.
Did she lose her way coming home? That must be it, she was never alone going out. She's always with her slaves whenever she goes. He should have woken up much earlier than her. Maki groused at the thought that she was still out in the wild with no company, everyone knew that she was never out by herself! How could she stay out for so long?! She might have lost her way home.
On the way out of Datu Pita's balay, Tala saw Maki rushing out and appears to be running after someone else. She caught up to his pace and blocked his way.
"Maki! I've been looking for you all day! Where have you been?" She asked while holding his arms. Maki took a glance at her then removed her hands on his skin.
"I have to do something important, let's talk later." He said nonchalantly then prepared to vacate her but she took another step to stop him.
"No, wait! How about Yanar? What happened to her?" Maki once again glanced at Tala. They've been friends since childhood, he was loyal to her as her friend. He had done things to make her satisfied with her revenge in her own family.
He knew Tala's mother, the woman who took care of him when he was younger because his mother died after bringing him to life. For the reason of paying the indebtedness of kindness they showed when he was younger, he goes along with her plan and was willing to keep on supporting her until she reached her goal.
"Listen, I don't have time to converse with you right now." He said seriously, he was still willing to help her have her revenge but once he marries Yanarym, she should let him be.
"Then, tell me, is she dead or still alive?" Tala asked curiously not wishing to irritate Maki anymore. She knew his temper more than anyone else.
"I am not sure." With a cold tone, he gently pushed her aside to walk past her. "We need to talk later, I have something to tell you."
"Alright..." she said disappointedly and let him go. As she was left alone there, she just stared at his back and faded away.
She did not know why Maki was in a hurry to leave. Also why he did not make sure of the death of Yanarym. The balay was in chaos as the young lady hadn't come home since the banquet.
Naturally, no one cares about her existence in this Banwa, that was why she could move around so easily without any slaves serving or restricting her.
She is also known as one of the Datu's daughters yet she was treated like not one.
Her life was modest and tranquil in her childhood. Just her and her mother in a banwa where no Datu or official rules the land. Playing every day with Maki and helping her Iloy cook and work for their daily necessities.
The Baba of Maki gave some haunted birds or deer from the forest occasionally. They were happy, harmonious, and getting through it together.
Suddenly, her mother told her who her real father was and the place where she rightly belongs. To the balay of a Datu. To be treated like a Bai, not a slave. She's a young lady, who needed to be served and experience life like maharlika.
Datu Pita accepted them both as his second family. Her mother did all she could do to win favor from Datu. But the legal wife has learned what her mother is up to so she poisoned her without mercy because of jealousy. Datu Pita turned blind eyes and deaf ears after knowing that his wife killed the second wife.
It was announced as an accidental death and no one cares about the truth. Everyone loves the legal wife and the Yanarym, however, no one cares about her and her mother. Was it because the lineage of her mother was a slave?
That's why they were being left out? Where was the justice in that? Hardly because you were a lowborn, you have to be treated like an insect that has to be trampled on? Are they not all human beings? Regardless of the status they all are alive and yearned to live a good life, right?
With that, she decided not to live like a bug anymore. Waiting to be beaten to death like her mother. If the only way to have a happy and good life is to have a ranking status, she will aim for it.
Though, the legal wife was so evil that Tala wouldn't spare her life. She even taught her daughter to mistreat her, which was the original. Tala endured everything and slowly developed her plan to take the spot at the top.
First, she killed the legal wife, the source of all her sufferings. When the legal wife died. Both the daughter and the husband were in despair and agony. With this happening, the Rajah announced that his only son's marriage with the original will be postponed for a while.
Of course, Datu chose his favorite daughter to become the future Hara.
