Achis can't even blame her for leaving him behind, she would just use the guilt card if ever they have to see each other again.
She wandered her eyes around the room and felt distressed leaving him. Well, she guesses it farewell for them. "Goodbye, Achis." She whispered and jumped out of the window.
Lapil who was looking at the window of Yanarym the whole evening was stunned when he saw her jump out of there. Although the height was not high it was also not low for her just to jump out. It's a good thing she was not injured by that action.
She moves swiftly going to the forest and he follows her quietly. But she halted and turned her head to him. They locked eyes and she peered at him curiously.
"Are you following me?" She asked.
"Yes." He nods and walks to her front. "I wish to talk to you but you were sleeping all day. I was waiting for you to wake up and saw you jumping out of your window."
"I have no time to talk to you."
Lapil held her arms to stop her from going anywhere, "This is an important matter."
"I have to do something important too." She said, trying to remove his hand from clutching her arm. Lapil grasped her tighter.
"I know who you are, you are my betrothal, daughter of Datu Pita, Yanar." He said to her with no smile on his lips. He gaped at her eyes and she paused for a moment.
"I am no longer qualified to become your wife, Ginoo." She muttered not evading his intense stares. She was not even denying or surprised about it. That means, she knew. That she belongs to him but didn't say anything? Why doesn't she like him?
"I was held by two men already. I am not as clean as you think." She aborted his thoughts and pulled her arms out of his hand. When she was about to leave he hastily grabbed her nape and kissed her without warning.
Yanarym gasped for air placing her hands on her stoned chest sensing his lips savoring her in tender motion. It was not that long or deep and he let her go within seconds. It seems that he was just trying to make her stop from leaving.
"I know that too," he whispered to her ears and embraced her body. "And It doesn't matter to me, as long as you are mine at the end of the day. That's what only matters to me."
Yanarym blinks her eyes hearing his confession at this urgent time. She bit her lips and thought for a second and sighed as she had concluded.
"I have to find Maki." She muttered trying to make a gap between them to properly converse with him.
"Maki?" Lapil raises his brow hearing that name. Of course, he knew who Maki is, that was the warrior who dirtied her. What he didn't understand was why she was looking for him in panic.
"Yes, I need his help."
"What kind of help?"
"I want to go home." Lapil paused for a moment.
"What about Datu Achis?"
"Achis… Achis is no longer my ally. He chooses Tala."
"...what do you mean?"
"He conspired with her to kill my Baba! I wouldn't let them do that! Tala already killed Iloy! I won't let her kill my Baba too!" She exclaimed to him.
Lapil was silent for a moment and he smiled at her sweetly. "Alright, don't be agitated, you don't need to look for Maki. I'm here, with my power, I can help you more than he can do."
That morning, on the last day of celebration. Maki was together with Tala when the young Datu approached them with a resolute manifestation. Maki had a stern expression looking at the man he detests the most. Thinking that Yanarym had like that man makes his head fume in anger.
He knew he said this before but he couldn't get it off his mind. How hilarious that at the beginning, he was supposed to send the Bai to this man but before he could do so, he was prevented by the Bai herself. However, in the end, she still ends up being on the young Datu's side. What's more, he considers her as his bride? But he was supposed to kill her back then. How funny, everything was turning so humorous but Maki doesn't want to laugh in this situation.
"Datu Achis," Tala greeted the young Datu formally, Maki did not bat his eyes and continued staring at him stoically.
Achis had made a decision, gazing at Yanaryn who sleeps soundly in his arms this morning. He had concluded that he needed her. Even if she hates her for conspiring with her sister to kill their father, he doesn't care. Because if he leaves her, it is worse than being hated. He could make up for it in the future. But if she vacates him at this time, he fears that he couldn't have her back anymore.
"Bai Tala," He returned the formal greeting and looked around, seeing that it's only the warrior who was with them he looked at her again, "I want to talk about your proposal."
Tala smiled hearing what Achis had said, "Sure, come with me." She said but before she glanced at Maki.
For Tala, Maki is more than just her people. She sees him as her only family remaining, like a brother. When he went astray on the death of her umbo, she was mad because she felt betrayed that he was mourning for her enemy. But days later, he came back and told her sorry, although she was mad, her love for him as her family was greater than her hate so she had forgiven him.
From that day on, she had always made him stay by her side.. She wanted that when she had taken and attained all of her goals, he was there to her side.
