When Ara died for an unknown reason, Hara Kaliya had not tried to visit this banwa ever since, and when she heard that Yanar also died, she had mourned for days too. And now Yanar is alive, Hara Kaliya can't explain what she's feeling...
Hara Kaliya understood why she liked the woman in that veil at that time. Because it was Yanarym, daughter of Ara she had cherished deeply and Pita who she admired truly. It's a good thing that she traveled here, if not, she wouldn't know and just be depressed because of her unreliable husband.
"What happened to you? Tell me."
"It's a long story, Dada," Yanarym said and sat on her luxurious bed. Hara Kaliya followed her.
"I've got the time on my hand." Yanarym looked at Hara.
She's a nice person towards the original. Not to mention, she's devoted to Datu Pita instead of her husband. Well, what could she expect? The one that Hara's really into was Datu Pita.
How funny is this, both husband and wife are in love with the same man, however, both are also having different paths to take. One followed the man unconditionally and the other was looking for a substitute blindly, even willing to kill his true love just to experience the hollow romance.
The back plot of this story is really good. The author is awesome although this is a Philippines historical story, she was enjoying how the event progresses.
She told the Hara things that she could tell, about Achis, about Tala, about Lapil and the Rajah. Of course, she did not tell her about things about the rated SPG. Surely, Hara Kaliya would be flustered if she found out about Maki as well. Especially when she's shipping her son to her.
"That snake!'' Hara exclaimed after listening, her eyes sharpened as she narrowed on the wall thinking about Tala's face. "Like mother, like daughter! Really! Seducing Basi since she can't marry Lapil?! Is she trying to dethrone me? Huh! If she can!"
"Dada calm down, Baba and the rest are trying to counter her schemes."
"Don't worry sweety, I'll help your father to protect you, just like what I have promised to Ara before she left." She embraced Yanarym again.
"Dada let's not get dramatic, you know Iloy doesn't like gloomy ambiance."
"Right, right, anyway, since you're back, let's decide on the day of your marriage, Lapil must be happy seeing you. How was he? Do you like my son?"
"Dada..." Yanarym scratches her forehead, marriage again? Why is everyone so eager to marry her off? It's not like she is thirty! "Lapil and I talked about it, and we have agreed not to talk about marriage until the chaos is all over."
"If you say it like that then..."
Datu Pita gave her the power of choosing who to marry, which made the men flaunt to nettles her. Since the final words of approval depend on her, they were doing everything to gain her favor. Which was not entertaining but very annoying. They were too restless to win her heart, which made her restless as well. It wasn't even part of the task but they are making her waste too much energy! Due to the tension, she called them for a meeting. Lapil, and Maki together with her, had a serious conversation regarding the matter of marriage.
As the battle was still transpiring it's not smart for them to feud who she will be tied down to. If they lose means none can have her and she would die on Tala's hand. She managed to make them believe that and also the fact that it was a good thing to have rules and let things unfold first before lunging onto something serious like marriage.
As a result, she introduced them to a scoring system and scheduling. With the schedule thing, that she found very useful from the last world. The brothers and Kane were very territorial, and they weren't sure where to draw the line of sharing, that was why they always squabbled. When she came up with dividing her time for them, they became a lot more submissive and manageable.
She did the same thing to these two, they had to give each other space if it wasn't their schedule. And it works out well, none was shouting and growling at each other. In addition to that, she made another rule of forbidding the discussion of marriage until it was all over. Plus, no more lovemaking even if it's their schedule. Sex will only happen once she said yes. But if she says no, it means no. If they don't follow the rules, the time that they 'own' will get deducted as punishment.
It was a good thing that they did that because everything turned quiet and nice. The men listened to her demands. For her, to be able to manipulate these men, she had to make them think, they are the ones controlling her. When in fact, she had the leash on their necks.
The only problem was the incoming attack of the enemies that they should count on. After that, she just has to finish her lesson on swords, then she could run away from this world and marry no one.
When the Rajah and Tala had returned to the puod after gathering forces from Rajah's influence, Tala had received a message that Achis was backing out on their agreement. For that reason, her plan regarding the rebellion had to change its schedule.
In the room that the Rajah gave to her as her bedroom, "I see, you can leave," Tala said to the messenger that had brought her the news. She sighed and rested her head on the table in front of her. She stared at the small chest box that she had given to Achis at that time of their union. But currently, it's back in her hands. "What troublesome men...." She murmured. Achis has been a problem for her, how can he change his mind every now and then?
