Yanarym looked at him and he could perceive how disappointed she was. Movu's smile faded away out of guiltiness. "Look kid, it's not the end of the world, okay? There's tomorrow. I promise to do better." He muttered, defending his stance.
Movu knew he did badly for the first day being a beggar. He was always taught how to use power, authority and not be trampled on. Obviously, begging for money on the streets would not suit him. He rather holds a gun and kills people to threaten, and also, gaining coins in exchange for his dignity was too cheap. For today, the little girl did all the work to earn. He was astonished while he was observing her do her thing, she was a natural beggar!
Yanarym scoffed hearing what Guide-sama told her regarding what Movu was thinking. She was not expecting anything from him at the very beginning, she knew he would be like this. It's part of the plan anyway, she had to get closer to him without him being aware of her motives.
And she found the perfect personality and attitude towards him. It turns out, Movu had a crush on her cold attitude, it was an accidental discovery. If she's hungry she couldn't help but be cold and indifferent, and while they were-- she was eating earlier, she was treating him nonchalantly. He wasn't offended, instead, her silentness and gloominess caused him to be bubbly and chatty.
"Are we going back to the dumpster?" Movu creased his brows as per noticing where they were heading.
Yanarym bobbed her head, "The man said that we won't be able to eat dinner tonight because we did not meet the quota."
"So, you will eat there again?" He said displeased.
"You should eat too, or you'll starve..." His face wrinkled by disbelief hearing her rhetoric. What's worse was that her expression was too serious to take it as a joke.
"I am not eating that garbage," Movu grunted, the little girl did not throw him a glance instead she continued to saunter in the dumpster's direction.
"Are you not used to being starved?" She asked out of a sudden, Movu wanted to say, 'yes, I've been fed five times a day with high-class healthy dishes.' But looking at the physique of the girl who was skin to the bones he stopped. He didn't want to offend her, who seemed like she had never tasted real food before.
He already turned thirteen, months ago, his height was starting to sprout and his body frame was like a normal teenager boy would have. While the little girl had this small stature that he seemed like a giant beside her. She had long blonde hair that goes along with her ice-blue eyes that could be portrayed as insouciant, it's actually cold when he stared deep in…
"...why don't we buy that money with some actual edible food?" He suggested before they reached the waste area.
"We can do that but you should know that you will be castigated." She rebutted coldly.
Movu shut up again, why does this little girl keep on telling him off? She was not talkative but every time he did something, she would tell him that he was doing it wrong. Even his mother says nothing about his decisions, his father never cared. Right now, he felt like he was a kid being babysitted by a little girl, was she even half of his age?
"How old are you?" He asked, it's not like he was offended by her attitude to him. He was actually delighted that he found someone who was not intimidated by his presence.
"I'm eight." She replied and crotched down on the garbage bag untangling the knot of the black plastic.
"You're eight? I thought you were four or five. You're so tiny." He exclaimed and examined her frame again. She's filthy but she's really cute. He wants to squeeze her cheeks until they bleed... "You will eat that again, really? Does your stomach not ache?" She did not reply and began gnawing food she found 'edible' for her standard. He looked up to him with her adorable but apathetic expression.
"This will not do," he bent over to reach her skinny arm. "Let's go." He pulled her up, which was so easy because she weighed like a feather. "Put that down." He took the thing in her hand and threw it away somewhere.
"That was my food." She blurted and glared at him.
"It's not food, it's garbage. I'll show you what food looks like." He pulled her into the convenience store. Movu brought a microwaveable meal and presented it to her after heating.
"See? This is what you call food." Yanarym eyed him, she couldn't even say a thing. She shifted her attention to the ready meal in front of her.
'She knows what actual food is.' She thought, 'Does he think she doesn't buy this because she doesn't want to? She just can't! The money -- she doesn't want to get punished later --- but whether they eat or not they will still get punished right?'
Her stomach grumbled at the aroma of a delicious meal, this was literally the first food she will be having after coming to this world. She feels her eyes searing and sweating, is she about to cry because of this? She is. Whatever, she will later suffer from the consequence of spending the money. And she had to ponder the situation to use it to her advantage.
"Slow down, here, water." He laughed at her when she choked her food. Finally, he could see her acting like a child, not an old person.
They eat in silence but Movu was watching her intently. She was crying while gnawing. Obviously loving her meal, when she finished her meal, he gave him his portion and she looked at him affectionately because of it. He smiled, staring at her.
"Full?" She nodded vigorously.
"Thank you.." She muttered shyly after gulping down the water.
