CHAPTER 036
Many students saw that public display of affection between Yanarym and Kraig which shocked them. Although they had created a scene yesterday at the alley, they did not suspect that Kraig's girlfriend would be Yanarym and not Tiana. That was such a big flash. How could they not, the other day, Kraig was disdaining Yanarym to defend Tiana. The next day, he would come running to Yanarym who was with another man and behaved like a jealous boyfriend. Today, he was her real boyfriend. What a shock it was. Moreover, no one could repudiate that they have strong chemistry.
Just like that, Yanarym and Kraig's change of relationship status became a hot topic to almost everyone at the academy. The headline was, 'the daughter of the witch professor was dating the popular transferee'. That news reached Lyndon's ears as soon as he came to the gate of school grounds. He was sure that Yanarym told him this entire plan of hers but he wasn't expecting that she was this successful. He saw them in the hallway as if this was not the first day of them being lovers—they were synchronizing so well. And if he was not informed of the truth, he would be tricked too and believe that she was into Kraig and the two of them were really in love.
He found Tiana walking out of the scene. Lyndon snickered, at last, there would be no more Kraig that would intercept his relationship with Tiana. He shouldn't waste this chance to have Tiana become his.
"Hey." He followed her to the back of the academy, which was their secret base back when Kraig hadn't arrived. "Why are you running away, did you not succeed in making that bastard believe in you for the second time?" She quickly glanced at him with glaring eyes.
"Are you here to mock me?"
"Did I ever mock you, Tiana?" She sighed and shifted her eyes to the chair across from them. The fourth-period bell rang and Lyndon was guessing they were not attending that class.
"I went to his house last night, we talked. I told him what you told me, he said… congratulations. Then, he said to me that he would start dating Yanarym as of today." She nipped her lower lips out of annoyance. A flashback of what happened yesterday's night came to her mind.
"And you agreed?" Lyndon asked and saw that she was aggrieved. "I thought I told you to tell him about Azkin's revival,"
"I did tell him, I was even trying to tell him that when the afternoon class was over. But when we were conversing on the rooftop he wasn't paying attention to me, he's been ignoring me all day that I just got too emotional and so I walked out. I thought he would run after me but he didn't. He went straight to Yanarym instead." She bit her lips hard and clenched her fist. "The night came, as I said, I went to his house to declare to him what you told me, but it was too late. If I were earlier than Yanarym or was patient enough. I would be the one he's dating!" Tiana blurted, when Kraig told her about his relationship status with Yanarym, she could not even cry by bewilderment.
She just could not process the entire thing in her head. Am I the only person who found these sudden changes too fast? Comprehending these matters, rather than being sad, she was so furious.
"Did you tell him you are Azkin's reincarnation?" Tiana snarled at Lyndon as he repeated the question twice. She had been saying that she 'did' tell Kraig for the third time! Why did she get the impression that no one was paying proper attention to her?!
"I just told you! I did tell him! But he doesn't care! He wanted Yanarym over me!" Lyndon was silently commemorating, that was great then. That implied Kraig would not jeopardize his relationship with Tiana.
Lyndon glanced at Tiana, back then, his intuition told him that Tiana was related to Azkin and that made him conclude that she was the reincarnation of Azkin. Some people from the town knew the prophecy, and because his heritage was related to the ancestors of the very beginning of this town. They were the ones who had heard the revelation, it was information from heaven. They were told to find Azkin's reincarnation, to make her ascend, but it had been decades, they couldn't find her.
Lyndon could tell his parents about his conclusion and have Tiana test if she is God's daughter reincarnation. But Lyndon was still in love with her, if she passed the test and if she was the real Azkin, she would ascend to heaven, which means, they will release her from her human form. She had to die, and if she died, Lyndon couldn't attain her. It was selfish of him, but humans are made of greed. If it's wrong to be greedy about happiness, I would always prefer to be in the wrong.
However, his plans don't go along with what he wanted to happen. He couldn't have her. Tiana fell in love with someone else, she was heartbroken, and he would be heartbroken whenever she was suffering. Ironically, he supported her whenever she was having problems with Kraig but he caused those problems too. He would like to ruin them but was afflicted whenever she was in agony because of Kraig. A cycle of stupidity, and a maze where there was no way out. It was like he was chasing after his tail.
Like this most recent event, he told Yanarym to hurt Tiana at the field. He knew Kraig wouldn't let Tiana be hurt, Lyndon was expecting that Kraig would receive the damage in Tiana's stead. However, Kraig chose to reciprocate the force to Yanarym's that caused her physical damage. She was later cornered by Tiana and maybe that was the reason she burst out. Revealing Tiana's secret to everyone.
Tiana became depressed and he had told her the resort to save her relationship with Kraig. The secret about Azkin's soul reincarnation.
Kraig appeared to always be the 'good' guy. That was his image, the angelic one. He was, nevertheless, a ruthless individual.
Lyndon knew for a fact that Kraig only approached Tiana because of her 'usefulness'. So, Lyndon thought, that if Tiana were to reveal being Azkin's human reincarnation—Kraig would come back running to Tiana. Kraig didn't choose her.
What went wrong? Was it about Yanarym's interception of the plan? They just had sex. He had sex with Yanarym too. It was one time, but did it change anything? It didn't, did it?
Lyndon took a breath and wanted to laugh. He had such a contradictory belief. He strives to separate them rather than unite them. Why did he keep assisting Tiana in her endeavors to mend her relationship with Kraig?
"I don't understand Lyndon, how could Yanarym have Kraig in the blink of an eye? Did she use some magic potion? She used dark magic, didn't she?" Having heard Tiana's remark, Lyndon recovered his demeanor. Tiana was anxious and worried that Yanarym would wholly possess Kraig, she had been working hard to be with Kraig, how could Yanarym just take him?
"We both know she is not capable of doing such," Lyndon answered her with the most logical answer he had.
Everyone knows that Yanarym was an abandoned child and adoptive daughter of the most hated professor in the academy. She had no powers or ability to do things about magic.
That was why she was branded as the nerd who spent her time at books and the library. Even if Yanarym could use some dark magic, she would use it on him, not on Kraig. Considering, he was the person Yanarym truthfully loves.
"Then, how did she have Kraig?! I am a lot better than her! She was his obsessive stalker, she's been bullying me for taking Kraig away from her! How come no one suspects she did something to Kraig!"
"I don't know, Tiana, we don't know her."
"Or maybe, Kraig pities her. Just look at her face! She was avoided by everyone because she was too beautiful! That's right, Kraig is a very good person, maybe he pities Yanarym and is willing to date her for charity." Lyndon couldn't comprehend how Tiana's mind was circulating.
"I should save Kraig from this set-up. Yanarym was being unreasonable! How could she! She isn't worthy of Kraig! Kraig is mine!" Lyndon gaped at Tiana, "Lyndon, are you listening to me? Why aren't you speaking?!" Tiana turned to him and saw that he was drowning in his thoughts. Tiana sighed, "Why are you even here? If you would not comfort me?"
"What do you want me to do?"
Lyndon raised a brow. He didn't feel good about the way she was looking at him. She is thinking something stupid, isn't she?
"Seduce her for me, Lyndon…" Again, they were back in a cycle of foolishness.
