Chapter 13 - Lucianna Lloyd

"You. You are Clement's bodyguard, aren't you?"

Jian Yu turned and saw a young woman standing there in front of him, glaring with her arms crossed. He immediately recognized her. 

Lucianna Lloyd. An Omega. 

Long and wavy blonde hair that went down her back. Small oval face with large emerald eyes that was currently trying to kill him with them. She wore the normal attire Zariya college had provided all of their students. 

White suit over the dark blouse together with a white knee-length flare skirt. A ruby red tie tied in buŧŧerfly knots sat under the collar of her blouse.

This was the youngest daughter from the Lloyd family and Lady Clement's friend. Spoiled rotten and treated like a queen by her family.

"Yes, Lady Lloyd. How may I help you?" 

Jian Yu gave her a bow. 

"Disgusting."

Flabbergasted, he looked at her. What? 

"Is this how Betas usually are? Spreading their legs whenever they want… trying to act like an Omega?" 

Jian Yu was stunned. It was as if the impact of those words had knocked every wisp of air from his lungs. 

"How does it feel? Does it satisfy you? Do you feel good?" 

Every question she spouted, she took a step closer to him. 

"Of course it does, especially to sŀuts like you." 

Jian Yu kept quiet, head bowed down. 

'Keep silent and she will walk away,' That was what he thought, yet she didn't.

When she did not receive the reaction she anticipated for, Lucianna flipped her blonde hair backward and sneered. "Y'know, it was once a blessing to all of us, Alpha and Omega, during that massacre."

Jian Yu gulped. What the hell was she trying to do? 

That Massacre. 

It was a taboo word now, something forbidden to bring up.

No one was allowed to talk about it. Not even the Royal Family. And why was she bringing it up? 

Memories of the massacre made bile rose and his ċhėst clenched. He struggled to inhale, to exhale, to do anything. His widened eyes could only stare at her. 

Looking at his terrified expression, Lucianna was filled with satisfaction, he finally showed some reaction.  

"All of you Betas should just perish. I wonder how you are even alive till now. It is such a shame." 

Tension grew in his face and limbs, his mind replaying all of her words. His breathing became more rapid, more shallow. His heart was hammering inside his ċhėst as if it belonged to a rabbit running for its skin.

He could feel a panic attack approaching him but he couldn't stop himself. He remembered darkness. How it was dark and suffocating. 

Creeping blackness.

He remembered lying in a fetal position and then… 

His mind kept flashing those moments like broken records, accelerating inside his head. He never noticed how she had stood in front of him. She then stood on her tiptoe and whispered. 

"I saw you, acting all innocent and docile. I wonder… what would Clement think when she knew you were seducing her future husband?" 

The moment she finished her sentence, it somehow gave Jian Yu relief. The tension that had kept him up melted into nothing. 

When she mentioned 'massacre'... 

It immediately triggered the flashbacks he tried to suppress. 

"What are you two doing?" 

Jian Yu jolted back to blink wild eyes. Sweats had dripped down the side of his face. 

"Step away from my bodyguard, Lloyd." 

"Ahh~ you are no fun, Clement… Look at him, he's sweating bullets," Lucianna patted Jian Yu's cheek with the back of her hand and pulled away from him. 

"Are you trying to seduce my bodyguard too?" Clement slightly arched her eyebrow and eyed Lucianna. 

She crossed her arms and tapped her foot impatiently. Her sapphire eyes darted between the two of them. 

"A lowly Beta like him? Don't make me laugh, Clement."

"Then find a new toy to play with. This one is mine," Clement growled, her Alpha pheromones came out rolling in waves, heavy and tight. It was pressing down on Jian Yu and Lucianna. 

Both of them choked on it but it was far worse on Lucianna. 

"S--stop, you are going to trigger my heat…!" 

"Omegas may be the Queen of the society, but know your place, Lucianna."

With that, Clement turned and walked away. When she realized Jian Yu wasn't moving from his spot, she paused. 

"What are you doing, Beta? Get going." 

Snapping out, Jian Yu rushed to Clement, however, his arm was caught by Lucianna. 

Jian Yu spun. Lucianna's face was flushed and sweat drenched her face. She was also breathing heavily. Clement must have triggered her heat. 

"I'm watching you, bitch," She hissed. 

'And here, she is still trying to threaten someone,' Jian Yu internally rolled his eyes. 

"Hurry up, Beta!" He heard Clement hollered at him. 

He dugged his inner pocket from his suit and pulled out a bottle of suppressant pills he always brought with him. Pouring a few pills out, he took Lucianna's hand that was gripping his arm and placed it on her palm. 

He then tipped his head at her before leaving to chase after Clement. 

"Fucking hell," Lucianna gritted her teeth. "Are you looking down on me?!" 

Her fingers clasped over the pills. "And you too, Clementine Zero. I'm going to destroy everything you have, including that smug face of yours." 

"This is unbelievable…!" 

She eyed the pills in her hand and hurriedly swallowed the pills before running away.

"Whatever she said to you, ignore it." 

Jian Yu looked through the rearview mirror at Clement. 

"Yes, My Lady." 

"Even though she is older than you, she has the mind of a child. Well, I guess that's what happens when being spoiled rotten," Clement heaved out a sigh and clicked her tongue. Rolling her eyes, she murmured in displeasure. 

"She never learned, greedy and is never satisfied with what she has. Brats." 

'Kettle calling a pot black,' Jian Yu mused and let out a chuckle. 

"What are you laughing about?" 

"Ah, nothing, I'm sorry." 

"Whatever. I heard you fainted? I never knew Beta could be this weak."

Jian Yu felt his eyebrow twitch. Are you worried or are you trying to mock me? 

"You should have to listen to Doctor Liam. He is one of the best physicians in Zariya." 

Oh. 

'I will take it that you are worried about me,' Jian Yu smiled. 

"Yes, My Lady." 

"Good. Since you are fine, head to the downtown," Clement instructed. "I need to get a dress done for the annual party." 

"Of course, My Lady." 

Annual party… 

It's already that month, huh? It's the day the Town of Zariya was found. The people would celebrate this date every year. Conglomerate families would take turns in housing this annual party.
