Chapter 18 - Who is 'He'

Name:Worthless Author:SleepyKola
"Debt?"

Zeke muttered under his breath and frowned. Is that true that Jian Yu was working there due to debts?

"--ir Roderick?"

A tug on his arm made him look down, staring at the redhead omega still clinging on him.

"Have you decided on your dance partner, Sir Roderick?"

'What was his name again?' Zeke thought to himself.

"Let me be your dance partner, then we could do the usual," the redhead trailed his fingertips lightly on Zeke's arm. "I know your rut is close…"

He whispered sŀutily, ŀɨċkɨnġ his lips as he produced a more sweet smell. A few Alphas on the street had turned and glanced at them, trying to see which omega had emitted such a delicious smell.

"I know how feral you can be during your rut, how you pounded into me like I am the only one meant for you, how you filled me up with your--"

"Don't call me that."

Zeke cut him off, snapping at him. He could never recall anything that happened during his rut, but hearing this filthy omega spouting it made him want to throw up. It sent shivers all over his body.

What's more? He called him 'Sir Roderick'!

Nothing more! So stop clinging yourself to me!

"Huh? What do you mean?" The redhead stuck onto him, plastering himself like a glue to Zeke. He gave out another sweet smell, attempting to seduce Zeke, it rolled out in waves and Zeke resisted himself from pinching his nose.

Too sweet!

He much preferred the woody and rusty smell that came from a certain silver head beta.

"I beg your forgiveness, but I have already chosen my partner," The words came through gritted teeth as Zeke forced out a smile, declining this omega politely.

He still had to maintain his 'Prince Charming' image, dammit!

Since the street was so crowded, someone had managed to bump into Zeke as to where he took this opportunity, pretending to stumble and pushed this nameless redhead omega.

Yelping, the redhead omega fell onto the ground, thinking some other people had pushed him, he shouted. "Watch your steps, peasants!"

Zeke rolled his eyes. He understood that Omegas had always been treated like the queen of society, but that didn't give you the reason to be rude at others.

Clicking his tongue, Zeke took the chance to slip through the river of people, ignoring the cries of 'Sir Roderick'.

The storm continued all through the night and it wasn't showing any signs of stopping.

A cloaked shadow slipped into an alley mouth, in hope to get away from the heavy rain, however he got very little protection from the buildings in either side. The wind simply funneled in through the alley mouth as the rain continued to bombard the earth from above.

Pausing halfway down the alley, the figure adjusted the cloak he was wearing, tugging it closer to protect his body from the heavy rain.

He looked back before continuing to run. He managed to knock out a few of the strange cloaked entourages that had been pursuing him and escaped.

Reaching the end of the alley, he glanced back once to check for pursuers before climbing expertly up the wall. Flipping over the top, he landed on the other side in a crouch, ready to attack if needed.

It was difficult to see through the rain, but he appeared to have entered someone's yard, and he hoped he was in the right yard.

It was a very large, very fancy yard complete with its own pond and little stone bridge. The lanterns by the back doors were lit, but the weather meant that no one was outside.

This should be a safe place to rest for a while and get his bearings. He walked up to the door and knocked in a custom rhythm.

A young woman in a maid outfit came out to greet him and waved him over, opening another door for him to enter.

Letting himself into the dark lit room, he bowed and muttered a soft 'thanks' towards the woman.

"Any movements from there?"

A voice came out from the back of the leather swivel chair.

The man in cloak flipped out a brown envelope, placing it on the old mahogany desk. "Here, Inspector Han."

The leather chair turned around and revealed a man in his late forties with grayish hair. He reached over and flipped the envelope open, pulling out a bunch of pictures taken secretly.

He flipped through it one by one before placing them on his desk. He heaved out a frustrated sigh and slammed his fist on the desk, nostril flared.

"What is his intention?! We had been searching for him high and low so long and now he just decided... to pop out of nowhere?! Fucking bastard."

The man in cloak had shrugged off his heavy and drenched cloak, folding it and placed it on the leather sofa nearby.

"Tomorrow night, at the party, keep an eye on Jian Yu."

Inspector Han ordered, rubbing his wrinkled forehead to chase away the headache and worry.

"Make sure to keep yourself hidden, understood?"

Dropping himself on the sofa, the man slipped his hands through his wet light brown hair and swept it back. His hair was dripping wet from the storm. His emerald eyes gleamed in the dark lit room, shining like the eyes of a cat.

The corner of his lips turned upwards until it formed a smirk. Leaning against the sofa, he crossed his arms and legs.

"Of course, Inspector Han."

"..."

"..."

A beat of silence.

Two beats.

"What are you still doing here?" Inspector Han raised his eyebrow, he took hold of a thin book and threw it in the man's direction. "Go home and get yourself clean."

The young man on the sofa dodged the incoming book and spluttered. "Why do you have to ruin my epic moment?!" He whɨnėd childishly.

"Go home, Rei."

"Aye captain!" Chuckling, he gave Inspector Han a salute and rushed out of the door, not forgetting to grab his wet cloak. He climbed up the stairs and reached his room, slamming the door shut.

He leaned on it and slid down, sitting with his back towards the door. He clenched his hand so hard until his knuckles cracked and gritted his teeth.

"Don't worry, Brother Yu.. I will never let you fall apart again, not anymore, especially not under my watch."
