3 Episode 3-School of many faces

Scarlett was in class. It was going by slow. It was last period.

She was copying notes from the board as the other kids. As she was just finishing up a crumbled up paper is tossed on her desk. She looks at it confused.

Someone than whispers "open it"

She looks over but whoever said it turned away. So she looks back at the paper. She swallows hard. You can do this! She grabs and opens it.

As she does the teacher calls on her.

"Mrs. Lee can you answer question five?" he had a strict look on his face as he did.

She looked up right away. "Um yes." She looked at the question. "Its C sir." she looked back at him.

"That's correct" he turns to the board.

She let out a sigh of relief. She goes back to the paper. She reads it. It reads,

Hey.

How you doing? I hope you are okay about earlier. I hope those kids didn't get to you. Kids can be mean I know. But just know you have me. Also this is Austin!

She looked up and around to find him. She spotted him across the room. He was smiling at her. She blushed. 'Why me?' she thought. She also noticed a group of girls giving her looks. 'Oh man. I pissed off the other kids' she quickly looked at her desk. 'Why cant he just be nice to everyone else but me. I thought I wanted a friend but it doesn't seem like its a good thing.' she sighed. 'Just ignore them Scarlett. Pretend he and everyone else isn't here' and she did just that for the rest of the class. While Austin kept trying to get her attention.

After Class~

She walked to her locker. She ran when the bell rang. Leaving Austin without saying goodbye. She knew if she started hanging with him those girls would bully her more.

As she closed her locker the same group of girls surrounded her. She swallowed hard.

"Listen..." the tall red haired girl began to say. "We know the new boy likes you. For some odd reason." she sighed. "Okay look if you can get me a date with him I promise no more being somewhat nice to you"

Scarlett looked at her confused. "Somewhat nice?"

The girl rolled her eyes. "I mean to say is.." she put her arm around Scarlett. "me and you will become friends. And I will make sure no one will bully you. But you have to get me a date. So.." she crossed her arms. "We have a deal?"

Scarlett knew that if she did this the outcome could get messy. The girls could be lying. But that one small chance of her being free of them was nice. She took a deep breath. "We have a deal"

The girl smiled. "Good. Now start making it happen. The quicker the better" She pushed Scarlett toward the direction of Austin.

She saw him. He was at his locker reading something on his phone. 'You can do this.' She started to walk up to him. As she did he noticed. He began to smile.

"Hey Scar!" he waved

"Hi..and Scar?" she laughed a little.

"Yeah. Thought you may like it" he scratched the back of his head. "So do you? Because if you don't I will never call you that again" he suddenly began to look worried.

"No no its fine. I like it." she smiled. She looked in the corner of her eye and saw the group of girls looking at her. 'Great not obvious at all.' she rolled her eyes and turned to face Austin. "Hey look I have this friend...well not really a friend more like a soon to be friend. And well I want me and her friendship to be closer and for that to be done I need you to go on a date with her. She really likes you. She tells me all the time. About how hand-sweet you are" she smiles big. "So can you do it?" she looks at him. He has a confused face. "Okay look just forget I asked"

"No wait. I will do it. Because you're my friend and by doing this will make us closer" he shuts his locker. "So yes I will do it." he puts his arm around her neck. "So "friend" who is the girl?"

"Oh um..." she looks at the girl. "Her.." she points to the tall red headed girl.

The girl smiles.

"Oh well...." he swallows "I will do it. For you!" he walks up to the girl. After a little talking he comes back. "The deed is done" he bows. "We go out tomorrow" he smiles. "And the date is quick too. So that means I get to hang with you"

"Wait what?" she looks at him confused. "You don't even know where I live nor did I agree to hanging out with you"

"Oh but I just did something for you." he starts to fake cry. "Why are you so mean to me"

"Okay okay. Look I agree but stop making a scene" she sighs. "Let me see your phone"

He hands it to her. "Yay I get to see my friend"

"Done. Ill text you the address okay?" she looks at him. "You have problems" she laughs.

He joins in.

Saturday~

Scarlett sat in her room. She spends most of her time there. Shes drawing a picture while listening to music. "La la la baby. Don't you ever talk to me" she sings a little off key but she doesn't care. Suddenly she hears a knock. She looks at her door. Her brother stands in the doorway.

"Hey listen can I ask for a favor?" he goes to stand beside her. "I was wondering if you could cover for me tonight. I want to go out with my girlfriend but mom says I cant"

'That's a first' She laughs a little.

"And so can you say I'm going to a study group?"

'Because that always works' she sighs. "Fine. Because I don't have plans"

"See I knew you wouldn't care. Thanks sis." he walks out.

She puts her head on her desk. "Why must I have such a stupid brother"

"Scarlett...."

"Huh?" she looks up and around her room. "Hello? Marcus is that you?" She stands.

"Scarlett..."

She turns around. "Okay I'm hearing things. Great Ill add it to my freaky list"

Laughter can be heard but it is very faint.

She looks around again. This time she is scared.

Suddenly a huge explosion happens knocking Scarlett across the room. Smoke fills the room.

Scarlett coughs "Ouch." she rubs her head. She tries to look around but when she does she locks eyes with someone or something. "Who...who are you?"

The smoke clears and a very tall man in a suit appears. His black hair is slicked back. His eyes glow bright red. "Ahhh what a flight" he yawns. He sees Scarlett. "Oh um hello." he smiles.

She began to scream but the man runs fast to her covering her mouth. "Shhh"

"Scarlett! Scarlett!" her moms voice can be heard. "You okay in there? The microwave blew up and I want to make sure you didn't have a panic attack!"

"Oh yes mom I'm fine. Just got scared a little bit." the man says talking like Scarlett.

Scarletts eyes widen as she looks at the man terrified.

"Okay. Just making sure" her mothers footsteps fade away.

The man looks at Scarlett. "Listen when I take my hand off do not scream. Okay?"

She nods.

"Okay.." he removes his hand. "Now I know what your thinking. Who the heck is this guy? What is he? Well I'll tell you." he stands. He reaches his hand out to help her up.

She takes it.

"So I know you're freaking out and everything but do not worry. I come in peace. Well for now" he laughs. "Okay sorry well um I'm Damon King. Your demon guide." he flicks his fingers and a book appears. He opens it and starts to flick though the pages. "Okay lets see....hmm. Oh! Here we are! Scarlett. Age twelve. Powers unknown. Hmm. Okay well.." he looks at her. "Lets get started." he smiles big.

She stares at him. "My what? Who? Where?" she had a million questions.

"Well you see you are only half demon meaning you can't live in the demon realm yet. You have to become full demon. By doing so you have to go through some tests. If you pass these tests you get to live in the demon realm. Forever." he looks at her. He notices she was nervous. "Okay listen. I promise it Isn't hard. All you have to do is kill a human" he smiles. "I promise it's not as hard as it seems. Just pick one that you care mostly about and bam demon. Well that's the last test. You have others to get through."

Scarlett stares at the ground. She sits on her bed. "All this time I thought I was human...that nothing was wrong with me. That I was imagining things." she starts to cry. "I cant believe this.."

Damon sighs. "Okay look if you don't want to do this you don't have to. If says so in the rules. If you choose to say no than you can be a plan human. But if you do your powers will be stripped and you will forget you ever known or knew about them and us."

She stands. "Are you kidding! This is the best thing to ever happen! I always thought I was a freak, some weirdo. But I'm not. I'm freaking a demon with powers." she smiles. "So whens the first test?"

He smiles big. "Good your on board"
