Under normal conditions, a chicken can easily live somewhere between 6 and 10 years. When it comes to chicken meat production, they definitely aren't given the luxury of a long life. Oftentimes, they'll be killed before they even reach 6 weeks old. Even "organic" broilers will still be killed after around just 12 weeks.
