When I woke up, I felt a splitting headache, everywhere I looked was blurring in and out of focus, not only that my whole body felt like it was on fire, then dumped into ice water, before being chucked back in a fire.
"Shit, it fucking hurts."
I heard a voice. "Well that is what is what happens, when you lose the energy to keep your mana under control. It invades your body, causing you a lot of pain as it shouldn't be there so it tries to go through your body, so where you enhance is where the damage happens, as it seems you were enhancing your whole body, so well, your whole body hurts."
'The voice was so loud, damm, why is this person shouting so loud.'
"You haven't recovered yet, I will put you back to sleep. When you wake up next you should be fine. Hopefully."
Then in my blurred vision, I saw a light, come closer and closer until it touched the spot between my eyes. Then I went back to sleep.
When I opened my eyes, I was in the realm of the sword spirit. Looking around I saw the sword next to the rock, just like the last time I was here.
'What the hell, I might as well go through another one of those battle's or at least have someone to talk to. It is better than being alone.'
Walking up to the sword, it glowed like last time and appeared before me.
It looked surprised to me here. This was further reinforced by how it was looking at me. "How are you here? You can't be here. It is impossible, only those I allow or those of the purest bloodline can come here. I would have detected it if you had such a pure bloodline."
Stopping ranting to itself, it walked over to me and began to look at me, touching me occansily.
"This is impossible. How can your bloodline become purer? It is as pure as the blood of the maker."
Pushing its hands away, as I worked out from how it was touching me, it was solid or at least fairly solid right now, rather than just a light.
"Explain what the hell you are talking about. What do you mean bloodline purity. I thought bloodlines could only be awakened."
It looked at me for a second as if deciding on something. Seemingly reaching its decision.
"Well, you are right, the bloodline can be awakened, but have you noticed how some people who awaken their bloodlines are weaker than others and some have different traits."
I nodded to show that I had understood, allowing I haven't really seen any of what he was saying, at least not yet.
"Well, every person will be born with their bloodline being of a certain purity. The pureier your bloodline, the stronger the awakening of it will make you. So this will allow that person to awaken more traits of the dragon that blessed their ancestor with their bloodline. Oh, also just so you know, the so called great clans were decided from one of the strongest dragons and the person who was first blessed will have the purest bloodline, which should be impossible to be seen again. But you have that purity."
All of what he said confused me alot. How could someone's blood hold so many secrets and power, not only that, why has no one said anything about bloodline purity before. It is not like they don't know about it. They must know, right?
I suddenly felt the realm shake a bit. The spirit looked up and the sky.
"It seems you are waking up. Time for you to go. I don't know how you got in here, but be careful. Not everyone you have met, is who they seem to be."
With that worrying warning from the spirit, my vision went black, before I woke in a bed, in what seemed like a hospital room.
A doctor seeing my eyes open, smiled at me slightly. He came over at pulled a chair up, sitting next to me.
"It is good to see you awake again, the first time, I have no idea how you managed to wake yourself up but you looked around and seemed to focus on something before blacking out again. Well looking at the symptoms, it seems like you collapsed due to losing control of your mana and undergoing what is called mana overflow."
Listening to what the doctor said, there was one thing that confused me. I clearly heard a voice talking to me, before that light appeared and caused me to blackout again.
"Docter, are you sure that there was no one, who spoke to me when I came to. I clearly remember seeing a light, I think it was a red light like fire as well as hearing this voice which at the time was really loud."
The doctor looked at me concerned, then who picked up some instruments before, using them to check a few things.
"Well this is confusing, what you are describing is like the voices said to have been heard by other patients but they all share one symptom, which you do not clearly have. As well as this vision. None of the other patients have had them before. This is confusing. Very confusing indeed."
'So if there was no one here, what was that? He said that other people have heard voices before but have had no visions. Wait, could my sudden increase in the purity of my bloodline be related to this. If it is, what kind of being could do something without being detected at all.'
The doctor then carried on, after being quiet for a few minutes, seemingly thinking about what I had told him.
"Well your body seems to be recovered so I see no reason keeping you here any longer. There will be someone who will come by soon to teleport you to where you need to be."
Not long after he left, a man who appeared to be a mage walked in. The mage was wearing long robes, but there was no simple to show which of the mage towers he was part of. Just a purple rim around the edges of his robes.
Walking up to me, he grabbed my arm without saying a word. Then I heard him mutter a long drawn out spell as well as drawing something into the air. After a few minutes of him doing this, we vanished.
When I could see again, I was back in the training room, where I had blacked out. The mage disappeared again after doing what he had done before.
This left me alone in the room, which was much darker than the last time I was in this room. Looking out of the window, I could see the night sky but nothing else. It seemed like there was something blurring my vision of the land. I guess they wanted to keep the location of the academy secret.
I could hear some footsteps coming from one of the hallways, it was a repetitive sound. Each step was perfectly timed after each other to make it sound like the person was taking the exact same time to step every time.
I saw the same ranger who I first met when I arrived at the academy. Seeing me by the window, he walked over.
"The view is beautiful isn't it. Nothing else but the endless expanse of darkness. Well, you better go back to your dorm room. Just don't push yourself like that again. Oh and well done for landing a hit on that dummy. I haven't seen anyone do that in a long time at least not at the level you are now."
He walked off again.
Thinking about what he said I realised that he must have been there for the whole time, watching us.
