Chapter 41：CHAPTER 41: TALK AND I AM LISTENING

CADENCE P.O.V

I controlled myself when Jaron came out from the office and stood there looking at me. I felt conscious it seems he was observing, every move I make. I could not take it anymore and asked him.

"Sir, d-do you need anything?"

"No, I do not need anything." he replied. "I just want to talk." He added.

I know what he means about the talking between us. I am not stupid and I have the brain for Pete's sake but I acted innocent.

I do not want to talk about us about what happened those past years. There is nothing to talk about because I might end up hurting again. Gosh, I do not think he can slide this topic on Monday I am sure he will do something about when we are alone.

I relaxed when he did not pursue but I can sense trouble on the way. He did not bother to talk to me again about us. 

I focused on my work after that since I have many things to do. During lunch, I was about to call Donna to join me for lunch outside the company. Afraid to encounter again with Jaron but Ms. Julie insisted to join them since today is her last day in the company and she wants me to have lunch together.

Jaron was driving the car and I was at the passenger's seat. Ms. Julie was at the back. We dine in at the Chinese cuisine for lunch that I also love it. They ordered and I let them choose whatever they like because I am not meticulous.

The orders came with lots of it and I was overwhelmed with the smells. I was drooling over it, it was mouthwatering my stomach growls.

Jaron laughed silently as he heard it and I rolled my eyes on him. It shocked me when he put sesame balls in my plate. I glanced at Ms. Julie she did not see what her brother has been doing. Or she just pretend to ignore, whatever!

I frown uneasily but Jaron still handed me the fried rice and other foods they order I ignored it then starts eating. Jaron and Ms. Julie continue discussing about the company I just listened and busy eating. 

We finished our lunch with full tummy. Ms. Julie hugged me tight. "I am going to miss you Cad, you were such an angel to me and ease my work. Keep in touch, will you?" She said. "I will not going back to the company now so you and Jaron will return and I will see you around okay." and embarrassed me again.

The driver was already in front of the restaurant to pick her up and we, Jaron and I were alone in the car. It was silence we seated awkwardly he did not started the engine. 

I zipped my mouth I do not want to be the first to draw the conversation. He turned to my side and faced me.

I sighed I know we should talk since he is my boss and we will be seeing each other every day starting this Monday.

"Okay, talk and I am listening." I said.
