Chapter 52

The next day, Lucas had finished his meeting two hours earlier than plan and that even made his secretary incredibly happy. But the main reason why Lucas rush his meeting was to be able to have a little more time with Ethan before the assistant applicants arrive for their interview. He had already sent a message to Ethan that his meeting had ended and that he can call anytime he wanted.

"You got the whole afternoon free aside from your meeting with the applicants. What do you want to do before the meeting?" asked Daniel who is the personal assistant of Lucas, the two of them have been close ever since they were in high school. One can even say that the two of them are best of friends, he might be the personal assistant of Lucas but that didn't mean that he came from an average family. Rather his family can also be considered as the most known family in terms of the furniture business. However, Daniel decided to be the assistant of the alpha since he is not the heir to their family business. He has an older brother who is now managing their family company, he just helps out whenever he was needed.

"I will have my lunch now while I wait for Ethan's call, can you order me something light, I don't want to go out today, I might miss the call of Ethan and I don't want that to happen." Said, Lucas

"oohh…so our CEO is that in love with him that he doesn't even want to leave his office huh? Maybe I can ask him to call you every day at a certain time so that you won't push yourself nor you will have to do too much overtime"

"*smirk* seems like I am getting in the way of your lovey-dovey time with your wife that you are complaining huh. Maybe I'll stop doing overtime so that I can have more quality time with Ethan"

"Oh! then-"

"then you will be the one who will do the overtime for me, will that be ok with you, Daniel?"

"Hey! You know that my cute son is waiting for me at home so I can't always be doing overtime or else he might start to forget my face."

"HAHAHA!!! Where the hell did you hear that kind of thing?"

"from my sister, you know that my younger sister got married soon after me but she got pregnant a month after their marriage. Needless to say, she knows a lot more about child-rearing plus she is so close to my wife since they are the same age. They even got closer after my son was born, we did go back to my parent's house a month before my wife gave birth. It just so happen that my sister also came to live at our parent's house at that time since her husband would have to leave for three months due to a business trip. Ever since then both my wife and my sister got much closer than before."

"but if I'm not mistaken your son is already 5 months and you also went back to your own house a month ago right?"

"yes but my sister would always go to my house whenever she doesn't have anything to do. Plus my mother and mother-in-law also visit my house to look after my son so that my wife would be able to rest."

"I see…anyway, I will try to limit my over-times so that you can leave early and I can also call Ethan early, our time difference is starting to get annoying to me too. So if you want to limit our overtime then manage all of my files in order and separate the urgent ones to the ones that can wait the next day. The normal scheduling that you have been doing won't be enough to make some adjustments. It doesn't matter if it became so pack just make sure that all of it is on schedule I won't be meeting anyone that didn't set a schedule even if they are someone from the board. Understand?"

"yes sir, be ready for a very tight schedule then"

"hmp! even if I were to protest about it you won't lessen it am I right?"

"hahaha! Right" The two of them are so close that to some people they don't seem like to be a boss and secretary but rather a very close friend or siblings. But the two are far more professional during work that there are only very minimal flaws in any of their works. Because of their perfectionist nature, they are respected by everyone and that also attracts a lot of companies or businessmen who wanted to have a business partnership with Smith's company.

Lucas's phone suddenly rang and when Lucas look at who it is, he smiled widely which made Daniel smirk as he thinks that love can make a cold-hearted person become soft right in front of him. He had known Lucas for so many years and he had also witnessed how many women and omega cried because of him.

"Ethan…how are you?" Lucas answered the call and started the video call between him and Ethan. He also gave a signal to Daniel that he can leave the room so that he can have a private conversation with his love, In which the other did so.

"not good, my babies kept on kicking and it hurts" answered Ethan while rubs his big belly.

"maybe you can just rest and leave the interview to me, I don't want you to get too much stress you know"

"no! I want to meet them even if it's via video call. After all, one of them will soon be my personal secretary so I should be part of the interview later. Don't worry about the little ones they are just being naughty inside me and giving their mommy a hard time."

"Alright, if you say so"

"by the way Lucas, did you already eat your lunch? If I'm not mistaken it's currently lunchtime there right?"

"that's right, my secretary just left to get me food. What about you Ethan? it's currently afternoon there right"

"hehehe, I got a lot of food here right now so whenever I get hungry I can always just get it and eat. Oh! also later during the interview, don't show my face, just let me speak without them seeing my face unless it is the one I had chosen."

"Alright, if that is what you wanted then I will arrange for that to happen. The interview will happen at one of the meeting rooms in my company. So I can tell Daniel later to prepare the other necessary things that we will need for this interview."

"Daniel? Who is that? Your secretary?"

"that's right, he is my personal assistant/ secretary, I bet you've heard that the assistant of Michel is the wife of my assistant. Their names are Daniel and Alexander Wilson, they are a married couple as well as an alpha-omega bonded pair."

"an alpha-omega pair…wait which one is the omega?"

"that would be Alex, why do you ask?"

"if Alex is an omega while Michel is an alpha won't that post any problem?"

"not really, the two of them had been together ever since they were kids, plus like you Ethan, Alex also came from an alpha family. Even though he is an omega the pheromones don't leak out unless he is in heat. Also, he had been taught to always bring his suppressants with him, he also had to learn self-defense for himself as well as to be able to protect his master which is Michel. He did come from a long generation of serving my family as a personal assistant to the direct descendants of the Smith family. Also, he got married to Daniel as soon as he and Michel graduated high school, they also got bonded a year before their marriage."

"oohh…I see" said Ethan, their conversation goes on until Daniel came back with Lucas's lunch. He ate his meal while still having a conversation with Ethan, they didn't end their call even if they were eating. The two of them might have a big age difference but that didn't bother them in any way.. In every conversation they had, they didn't feel any awkwardness but rather they are having fun.
