23 Training His Powers

They walked out of the tavern and walked up the main street. They turned into a small street. It was empty as it often was, only small windows overlooked the street. The street ended in a small creek. Nothing living walked the sand of the creek.

"Why bring us here?"

"No one will notice our duel."

"Very well then,"He said as he pulled off his shirt, "Let me show you something."

He held his left shoulder. He strained his body and a bone structure of his left arm erupted out of his amputated arm. He moved the bone fingers on his left arm. He signaled for Hugo to attack. He put his hands on the floor and pillars of stone rose below Omega's feet. He jumped back and used the walls Hugo had made to leap towards him, changing the bones to have a sword like end to them. Hugo rose the sand and deviated the blade into the ground, planting Omega's arm into the ground. Hugo created a hand of stone and brought it down onto him, trapping him. He closed his hand and the sand tightened around him. He jumped back as a bone spike emerged from the sand coffin. Omega cut out of the sand. His body was surrounded by a bone layer. Hugo formed a ball of air in his hand and threw it at Omega. Omega rolled out of the way. A smirk grew on his face as the layer of bones sucked back into his arm. He got to his feet. Hugo created a pillar under Omega, but he reacted to it before it even emerged from the ground. He leaped towards Hugo bringing his arm forwards towards Hugo. Hugo lifted a wall of sand and trapped his arm and hardened the wall around it. The arm stayed still and he made the wall crumble. Omega was standing a good distance away, remaking his arm. He was laughing. Hugo use the air to propel himself towards Omega. Omega made a bone shield on his arm and took the violent kick, barely moving. Hugo jumped back and Omega's shield shattered. Omega threw a bone spear into the air, landing behind Hugo. Hugo loss his concentration with that and Omega threw a bone whip low on the ground that wrapped around the bone spear and pulled himself towards Hugo. Hugo dodged him before receiving a stiff kick the the back. He fell to the ground. He turned to look up and was met with Omega's bone blade near his face. He stood still before using a pillar to move the blade and protected himself. He rolled back and looked around looking for Omega. He was facing the sun. He saw a dark figure leaping through the air. He rose a wall of stone in front of him, blocking Omega's attack, He saw a small crack form on the wall. He moved back as Omega collapsed the wall. What the fuck?! Omega had black, broken wings. His eyes were black and red and he had a pair of horns on his head. His bone arm was the normal arm, his right arm was in the shape of the blade. He blinked out of Hugo's sight and tapped his shoulder. Hugo turned and was pushed back, falling to the floor, followed closely by Omega's blade. It stopped close to his throat.

"Checkmate," He said as he returned to his normal form, his arm, wings and horn crumbled to dust, "You don't handle yourself to bad."

"What the fuck was that?"

"You have the same power, the power of a demonborn, I passed that gene down to you, you don't even need the amulet to use it."

"No, I mean the bone arm, why don't you use it all the time?"

"Sona hates it and it puts a lot of strain on my body, these powers tire me. I like your use of sand to crush me, but I saw that and covered myself with a bone membrane preventing the force to be transferred to me, I used the sun's position to my advantage."

"What was that bone whip slide?"

"Something I learned fighting the man that gave you that amulet, he did it to me but tried to kill me not just kick me, Ha ha ha!" Omega burst into laughter, "I haven't had a reasonable opponent since I fought Jarvan the Third. You want a second round?"

"Sure."

"Let's go," Omega said as his arm burst out once again. Hugo instantly made the sand wrap around Omega, He closed his hand and it hardened once again before a black arm burst out of the side. Omega emerged with his demonborn form, and his bone arm was in the shape of a blade and his right arm was split at the end making a double edged sword that was split down the middle. He had two bones that covered his shoulders like shoulder guards. He rushed at Hugo at a godly speed, before hitting the wall he made. Hugo paused until he saw a crack shatter the wall. Omega jumped from the top of the wall bringing both the blades down towards Hugo. Hugo used the sand to move himself to safety. He changed his own arms into double edged blades like Omega's and a smile grew on Omega's face. Hugo rose a pillar of stone in front of Omega's first swing but it only slowed the strike as it smashed through the pillar. Hugo used the air to increase the speed and power of his own strike. The blade hit sending an earsplitting ting through the air. Hugo put both his arms to try to hold Omega's right arm alone. He used his bone arm to jump up in the air. He spun and brought his right arm down onto Hugo, swiping his blades out of the way, before slamming his foot into Hugo's chest sending him flying across the beach. He lowered his body before rushing towards Hugo once again. He leaped forward but was swept to the side by a wave of sand. Hugo weakly got to his feet. He held his chest and forced air into his lungs. He changed his left arm into a shield. Omega got up and paused, as he noticed Hugo's weakness. Hugo fell to his knees. Omega returned to his normal form and ran to Hugo.

"Are you okay?" He said, "At least nothing is broken, your ribs are fine, you will just need to lie down."

"That, that, was a huge kick," Hugo said breathing heavily as he forced air into his lungs, "What power."

"Momentum and a decent amount of strength," Omega said, "You shouldn't have gone melee, I don't have any magic control like you or any ranged, aside from the bone spears, you have more powers than me. Are you sure you are fine? Can you walk?"

"I think so," He said as he forced more air into his lungs, "Fuck, how did you fight a god as a human with no powers?"

"I don't know, I ignored a lot of pain and may I remind you, I died in that fight."

"Ha h-, Fuck my ribs," He held his chest as he reeled from the pain, "Fuck this."

"Ha ha ha, if Sona wasn't drunk she could help you, but she is probably still asleep, I can help you back to your place if you want."

"Thanks," He said as he weakly got to his feet, Omega put his left arm over his shoulders and helped him walk, "How do you train?"

"I haven't trained in years," Omega laughed, "I don't have an opponent my level for training, I would kill them."

"You didn't hit me until that monstrous kick, why not?"

"No need, I was testing you, not killing you," He said, "I didn't need to hit you, you even blocked me from doing it most of the time. Where is your house?"

"That path there, at the top."

"Okay," Omega said as they walked up the path, "Nice view, but still you guys are quite isolated."

"Yeah, I prefer it, I don't like the noise of the ci-" He force air into his lungs again, "The city," He said as he unlocked the door.

"Hi Hug-, what happened?" She said faintly, still lying on the bed, "Are you okay?"

"Don't worry about me, rest, you aren't well."

"No, no I'm fine, you aren't well," She said as she put on her shirt.

"Cassidy, I will deal with this," Omega said, "You need to rest, I've had to take care of myself in a worse state."

"What happened?"

"A friendly duel, nothing else, nothing is broken, I just kicked him hard in the chest, maybe a little too hard," Cassidy gasped, "I know, I know, don't worry, I wouldn't try to kill my own son."

"Are you sure nothing is broken?"

"You see this?" He said as he pulled her close to him, "You see my right eye? It sees pain, so I know what he is feeling, okay, by the creator, I know what I am doing," He violently shoved her back onto the bed, "Let me deal with this."

"Don't, don't worry Cass," Hugo smiled, "It is just pa-," He forced air into his lungs again, "It's just painful," Cassidy leaned forward and kissed him.

"I think you are fine, take a drink," Omega said as he handed him the small bottle.

"Thanks," He said as he took a drink, "Quick question, maybe we could eat together tonight?"

"Fine with me, if Sona is fine, but she shouldn't be drunk," Omega laughed, "I'll get going, keep the bottle, I have some more."

Cassidy spoke once Omega had left, "What happened?"

"He royally kicked my ass, that's all," He laughed before grabbing his ribs, "He is incredible, I couldn't keep up with him."

"Really? What powers does he possess?"

"All the combat powers, you see his left arm?"

"The missing one?"

"He can make a bone structure for his arm, it's weird, maybe he can show you later, but how are you?"

"I am fine, when did I fall asleep?"

"When you got drunk at the feast."

"You guys gave me pure alcohol, that was not cool."

"Don't make me laugh please."

"Sorry," She said as she kissed him again, "How was the duel?"

"He is a demonborn, and he said that I am one as well."

"A demonborn? I am married to a demonborn?" She said as she went to grab her book off the shelf, "Look at this," She showed him a drawing of him with a horn on his left side and a black, broken wing, "I don't know why I drew this or why this is my fantasy, but it is."

"You are lucky then," He said, "But I don't know how to become a demonborn."

"Aw," She looked down, "You had my hopes up."

"Don't worry, I'll ask my father to show me how to do that."

"Tonight?"

"Yep."

"Should I order some food at the tavern?"

"I'll come with you."

"Do you think they will attack me?"

"I don't know, you never know, I'll walk further behind you to see."

"Okay, sounds good," She said as she helped him to his feet, "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine."

"Let's go then."
