He suddenly understood why that saying had come about. How people could even think such a silly thing was true. But he felt his heart thump inside his chest, the beating almost out of control. He felt his insides melt and his brain go giddy. And knew he was becoming a fool. But he didn't care because this was the sensation everybody called the first stirrings of that fatal attraction called love. And he felt awash with it.
He nodded once, but before he could even finish the nod. Max's hand slipped behind his neck and pulled him in for a kiss the other arm looped around him pulling him tightly into his arms.
His lips parted for him immediately and Max didn't hold back. It was a crushing, needy, kiss, full of this possessive pull that shook Leo down to his pulses. That drove his body giddy as he flooded with a million endorphins all at once. His mind felt numb and his lips tingled. But the only thing he wanted to know was if Max were trying to see if anything had changed between then and now, or if this had been a complete stroke of passion.
For Leo it certainly had. It felt like explosions were going off inside him everywhere.
He felt hopelessly drawn and caught up, swept away by the sheer force of desire and need that rushed through his system, the intoxicating shivers. The soft, delectable moans. And when Max pulled apart from him, they were both panting with exertion and need.
It had been gentle but needy, but so insanely hot Leo was floating somewhere outside his body.
Max panted beside him and Leo turned to look at him. The look of shock and happiness, but shy satisfaction that spread all across Max's face made Leo flush bright pink, as he got his unspoken answer.
Max looked over and noticed Leo's flush under the cars indoor lights.
"You're wearing pink again." He said lightly, a smile brightening up his face.
Leo looked down at the bear and smiled bashfully while biting on his bottom lip.
He wanted to look up and say something into the silence again. Or maybe do something else to break it. 'Like jump Max's bones, maybe.' Leo thought naughtily.
"I think I like you. I think I like you more than I have ever liked anyone." Max said with uncertainty.
Leo looked back up at Max who was still smiling lightly, but then Max's face scrunched up and he put his hands on the steering wheel nervously.
"But I don't know what it means, I don't understand..."
Leo felt his breath catch, and his heart thump in his ears as he waited for Max to explain himself better.
"Leo, could you give me some time to figure out my feelings?" He asked so sweetly and gently. Leo thought he was going to turn into a puddle right there.
Leo nodded immediately without even taking a second to think about it.
'Yes, he would wait for Max.'
Max was amazing, a catch, he had stolen his heart in one night, in a day... Today, a few weeks ago... It didn't matter when.
Leo just knew he was starting to stumble down the very dangerous path of opening himself up to something as rocky and chillingly wonderful as love.
"Thanks for the bear, Max," Leo said.
Max smiled "Sorry it isn't the polar bear." He said with a chuckle.
"It's okay Max, I like this one... This one is good enough for me." Leo smiled and blushed 'Nothing was ever going to be able to top the story of how he got this Bear now. Nothing.'
Max smiled.
Leo looked down at the floor of the car and his shoes. Embarrassed but pleased.
"Goodnight Max." He said quickly before opening the door and practically fleeing from the car up the small sidewalk that led to the side doors of the building you used when you got home past curfew. He was almost at the building before he turned back around to see if Max was still there.
The parking spot was already empty and when he looked up, he could just see Max's dark, navy car pulling out of the parking lot.
"Max," he said softly and touched his lips gently before turning back towards his dorm with an overjoyed smile on his face.
He could already think of how much teasing he was going to get from Evan when he told him about their date.
'His totally real regular, not just another date of the year date. Because that was a FREAKING DATE. If he didn't call it that then nothing else could be.'
He chuckled to himself, as he headed inside the building. He was definitely too excited to sleep
